Chapter 288: Chapter 267 Damn Fate

"You want to discuss with that Lich?" The Old Elf King thought he had heard wrong.

This was an internal discussion of the Elf Tribe, and she wanted to consult the Lich?

What exactly had Katherine experienced during this short journey that led her to subconsciously seek advice from a Lich?

"I know it sounds strange, but if you had spent some time with him, you would understand," Katherine explained. "He’s the best at doing business, able to balance the interests of all parties. I’m sure he can solve this issue."

After her outing with Amberser, Katherine hadn’t learned much else, but her self-awareness had greatly improved.

She had finally realized that she was not cut out for leadership, as naive as a little girl who hadn’t grown up. Thus, facing such matters of state, she subconsciously turned to consult that all-capable Lich.

Katherine’s trust in Amberser was built after he had created miracles time and time again.

This Lich had managed to make Paladins kneel before him, turned the Fury Tide Kingdom into his own backyard, and made the Druids comply with just a few words... That Lich’s mouth must surely be blessed by a Deity; he could solve anything.

The Old Elf King could not help but look to his grandson, hoping the young elf could offer his opinion. After all, they were considering the advice of an outsider. Didn’t the pride of the Elf Tribe matter anymore?

Aldalian, however, did not hesitate: "Alright, no problem, let’s do as Katherine suggested and discuss with that Lich," he said.

The Old Elf King was utterly convinced; his grandson was beyond help.

With Aldalian’s support, Katherine also felt relieved.

But the problem was, how would they contact him?

Long-distance communication had always been a major issue. Katherine did not have something like the Necromancy Codex, a Divine Artifact that could facilitate communication regardless of distance.

Upon hearing Katherine’s doubt, Aldalian simply said, "Isn’t that easy? Send an urgent letter, and have him come directly to the Silvermoon Tribunal."

Inviting a Lich to the Silvermoon Tribunal might be unprecedented since its establishment.

But the Old Elf King no longer had the energy to argue with his grandson. Regardless of whether Aldalian was making things up, what he said was true. As one grows old, one’s vision gets clouded by past emotions, and it’s hard to make objective, rational judgments.

If that was the case, it was time to hand it over to Aldalian, for he was now the Elven King.

Katherine’s handwritten letter quickly reached Amberser. The Silvermoon Tribunal spared no expense with their urgent letter, which only took an hour to the desert. However, it couldn’t be delivered directly to Amberser; instead, it reached the surface-dwelling Mage Harvey, who was tasked with delivering it.

Therefore, when Amberser received the letter, it had already been two hours.

Fortunately, it was still not dark.

After reading Katherine’s letter, Amberser hesitated for a moment before deciding to head to the Silvermoon Tribunal.

Since he had to deal with Arthur Laine’s Heroic Spirit anyway, he might as well take this opportunity to discuss the price with Laine.

With the Silvermoon Tribunal mediating, James Watson would probably not dare to make a move against him.

Amberser switched to an ordinary Skeleton body, then transformed into the appearance of the dark-haired youth before stepping into the Teleportation Circle, to avoid the contempt of the Elf Tribe for his skeletal figure.

After several transfers, he finally arrived at the Silvermoon Tribunal.

No sooner had he exited the Teleportation Circle than Amberser felt that intense life essence. The reasons for Elves’ longevity and exceptional beauty, besides racial traits, included the importance of their living environment.

The Silvermoon Tribunal was teeming with this lifeforce, beneficial for the body; not only did Elves thrive there, but humans could also live there without disease and reach a hundred years of age.

Walking through the corridor, Amberser was led by a few Elf maidens to the front of a splendid palace.

Amberser immediately spotted Katherine; she was as stunning as ever, so beautiful it took one’s breath away. Each meeting was just as astonishing, and even the Undead couldn’t help but be moved.

However, having traveled with Katherine for some time, Amberser had developed a bit of resistance and was able to greet her appropriately.

Katherine, on the other hand, seemed even more excited than Amberser. After returning to the Silvermoon Tribunal, she often reminisced about her adventures with Amberser, the most thrilling memories of her life.

Following a brief exchange of pleasantries, Katherine led Amberser to a small hall prepared for receiving guests. There, the new Elven King Aldalian was waiting.

This young Elven King was eager to meet Amberser too, curious about what made him so admirable to Katherine.

However, as soon as the two set eyes on each other, Aldalian’s eyes bulged, his face showing a slight distortion.

His eyes wide and face suddenly twisted, he gripped the hilt of his sword tightly, as if ready to strike down this special guest at any moment.

"Is it you?!" Aldalian forced the words through his clenched teeth, the resentment so heavy that even the naive Katherine sensed it.

Amberser looked at the young Elven King with confusion. The atmosphere was off. Were the Elves planning to deceive him and have him killed?

"Your Majesty, what’s this about?"

Katherine was about to ask for clarification when Aldalian said, "Sister Katherine, please allow me to speak with this Lich in private. This is a very solemn request."

Although Katherine did not understand why, she had rarely seen Aldalian behave as such. The issue must be significant, but all she could do was leave, albeit temporarily.

As the door to the room closed, Aldalian immediately advanced towards Amberser without hesitation, glaring at him without regard to decorum.
