Chapter 571: Chapter 299 Kill! The Death of Gabriel!_2
He was as if clad in a suit of golden armor, his cape billowing, majestic and domineering, like a Divine King.
The long-lost Genetic Release.
Li Ming took a deep breath; with his current strength, Genetic Release was just icing on the cake.
Bang!
The next second, a whip kick wrapped in Red Arcs and red flames sliced toward Luo Nan’s head like a scythe, swift and unparalleled, with a whistling that pierces the ear.
If this kick landed, it would likely tear the cervical spine, causing full-body paralysis.
Luo Nan’s pupils shrank, and his figure suddenly disappeared from the spot, the whip kick passing by his body closely, just by a hair’s breadth.
But Li Ming didn’t stop moving; his body leaned forward, hands spread open like a tiger pouncing on its prey, tearing towards the Gabriel close at hand.
"Fuck!"
Luo Nan’s face turned ugly; Gabriel was his burden. Even with powerful space abilities, with this burdensome duty to protect, he couldn’t fully utilize his strength.
Luo Nan, clad in Combat Armor, appeared in front of Gabriel, once again conjuring a spatial barrier.
[Intelligent Assistance] sharply perceived the subtle changes in the space around them, and Li Ming forcibly twisted his body to avoid an almost imperceptible spatial rift.
These kinds of spatial rifts could wound with a graze and kill with a touch, and even A-Level Life Forms were no exception.
That’s the heaven-defying aspect of Space Superpowers; without the means to counter space, there’s almost only a dead end.
Subsequently, Li Ming seemed to be dancing in the corridor, with steps strange and contorted, ceaselessly twisting his waist and limbs.
At first, Luo Nan’s expression was merely dark, but it quickly turned to horror and dismay.
Li Ming unbelievably avoided all his ripping spatial rifts, his perception of spatial changes was razor-sharp.
Let alone B-Level Life Forms, even A-Level Life Forms would struggle to do so.
How could this man be so freakishly...
He still felt the lingering shock in his heart, but his expression suddenly changed dramatically.
"Ha... Got you." Unconsciously, the distance between them had been closing.
And at one moment, Li Ming chose to convert all his Power Amplification to Speed Buff.
All of a sudden, his speed surged, not just by a little, but so much so that the air in front of him seemed to turn into solid walls.
A blur in his vision, and he appeared in front of Luo Nan, his body covered in fresh blood.
With Defense Buff reduced, such terrifying speed, upon environmental collision, also caused severe damage to himself.
But luckily it was only for an instant, he had already completed the buff conversion, switching back to Power Amplification and Defense Buff.
Bang!
An overwhelming surge of strength came, and Luo Nan couldn’t react in time, only to feel a sudden shock in his abdomen, Combat Armor’s alarm system blaring, but he did not get sent flying.
Because Li Ming’s hand was tightly clamping on his shoulder blade, that horrific strength caused the Nano Armor to cave in, bringing intense shoulder pain.
This was also the limit of Nano Armor; at the same level, its defensive capability was far inferior to solid armor—the only advantage being convenience.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Li Ming pounded like a punching bag, with not the slightest Energy Fluctuations, purely physical power unleashed upon Luo Nan’s Nano Armor, no overflow of shockwaves, a tumult of force.
He didn’t want to make too much noise and attract the A-Level Life Forms patrolling outside.
Every punch of his left a glowing yellow fist imprint on the armor.
And with the Trait of Armor-piercing True Damage, his actual lethality was even more pronounced; where his fists fell, nano-particles erupted like splashing water, scattering in all directions.
And Luo Nan, frightened and shaken, watched the armor’s structure fall apart at a pace faster than he had imagined.
The Nano Armor began to draw nano-particles from other parts to repair the damaged areas—if this continued, he could very well be beaten to death!
He forced himself to concentrate.
Then, at the spot where Li Ming’s fist struck, a space ripple emerged, and as the incessant punches fell like a pile driver, they completely vanished into it.
A gust of wind from behind, his own fist unexpectedly appeared at the back of his own head.
Li Ming was on high alert, with [Intelligent Assistance] constantly in effect. The moment he detected spatial changes, he had already started to retract his force. As his fist entered the space, he swiftly pulled back.
The very next moment, the spatial ripples rapidly solidified. Had he reacted a fraction of a second later, his arm would have been severed.
Thereafter, releasing his grip, Luo Nan disappeared again, reappearing beside Gabriel.
Due to nano-particles from other parts of the [Nano Armor] being drawn away to repair the shattered sections, his head was exposed, gasping for air with an ugly expression on his face.
He grabbed the startled Gabriel and said in a deep voice, "Your Highness, we must retreat first."
"Trying to escape?" Li Ming sneered with a flash of cold light in his eyes.
In an instant, a violent explosion burst from Luo Nan’s abdomen, and those punch marks shimmering with yellow light exploded at the same time.
This sudden explosion, completely unexpected by Luo Nan, finally shattered the already battered [Nano Armor]. Luo Nan, dragging Gabriel, flew backward and slammed into the wall, leaving a gaping hole in his abdomen, blood spilling everywhere.
The [Shattering Earth] Trait: this abrupt attack was not only lethal in itself, but it also completely disrupted Luo Nan’s superpower release.
Gabriel, his mind in turmoil, was likewise enveloped by a [Nano Mech].
"Go!" Luo Nan endured the intense pain, as spatial ripples began to appear around him. This person was too abnormal, with endless tricks up his sleeve, making him impossible to fight.
For those with Space Superpower, Level A was just the beginning; his current methods were utterly inadequate against his opponent.
If it were just him alone, the situation might be somewhat better, but now, protecting Gabriel was paramount.
"You can’t escape!" Li Ming abruptly raised his hand, switching to [Magnetic Crystal Heavy Domain], and a thousandfold gravity formed.
In an instant, within that area, the already formed spatial ripples started to become chaotic. However, the two were surprisingly unaffected by the gravity.
But Luo Nan’s body twitched, and then his limbs twisted together like braids, apparently a backlash of some sort. As excruciating pain swept through his nerves, he still couldn’t help but express his horror:
"How... how is this possible, how can you disrupt space!"
Gabriel, staggering and falling to the ground, was even more shocked and pale, as the fear of death instantly overwhelmed him, regret flooding in like a tide.
Li Ming looked impassive as he approached the two, looking down at Gabriel.
Gabriel, propping up his upper body with his hands, looked up in growing terror. From his angle, shadows surged within the gaps of the golden armor, and the depth of those red pupils were pitch-black and terrifying.
This was no longer some noble Divine King clad in golden armor but rather a merciless Demon King.
Li Ming stomped fiercely, jolting Gabriel up from the ground. Li Ming, in his [Liberation Form], grasped the opponent’s [Nano Armor]-encased head with his bulky golden hand with ease.
"Unlock it..." he said indifferently.
The [Nano Armor] on Gabriel’s head quickly receded, with the latter looking at him in utter fear, his voice trembling: "You... you can’t kill me..."
Never before had he felt the breath of death so acutely, not even when threatened by [Azure Dragon].
He had learned his lesson and rarely made appearances on the front lines. The only risk he took over this long period was attempting to capture Li Ming.
But even then, he had thought it through deeply before leaving, nearly certain that it wasn’t a trap.
Yet he had never imagined that within the [Ring Star Crown Guard], in the heartland of the [United Fleet], he would face a life-or-death crisis.
"Oh, why not?" Li Ming asked him with interest and then added, "Don’t tell me it’s because of your identity."
Gabriel’s expression stiffened slightly, as that was exactly what he wanted to say -- because of his identity.
He was the son of [Duke Bloodthorn], a member of the [Star Abyss Empire Family], immensely revered. If he were killed, there would be unimaginable consequences.
Lying on the ground, Luo Nan’s voice was strained and hoarse as he said, "Li Ming, you can’t kill him either. If you do, [Duke Bloodthorn] will hunt you down to the ends of the earth and kill everyone associated with you!"
"Stop now, and we can pretend this never happened. You can leave, and no one will stop you."
"Pretend this never happened?" Li Ming chuckled meaningfully.
His palm tightened, and with a crisp snap, Gabriel’s fragile head suddenly burst open, his terrified gaze dispersing as his eyes popped, spilling blood and brain matter all around.
Thud!
The headless body slumped to the ground powerlessly, blood gushing from the neck.
"You might be able to pretend nothing happened, I certainly cannot."
It was over.
Seeing this scene, despair filled Luo Nan’s eyes.
