Chapter 530: Chapter 279: Realm of Death? An Unexpected Tactic.

"Is it that simple?" Li Ming frowned slightly, glancing at the scattered chunks of corpses; it felt both right and wrong.

He had unleashed his full power, enough to injure Theo and shatter Fernand outright, so it was no surprise there.

But with Kovis and Fernand dead just like that, where did Connet’s confidence in dealing with them come from?

The sensation was like punching into what seemed like a steel-reinforced cotton, tearing it into shreds on impact.

Although the goal was achieved, it still felt oddly unsatisfying.

"Let’s go." Theo had already picked up the box containing the Sublimator, Benny smiled sheepishly, hesitant to speak.

"Wait..." Li Ming’s gaze fell on Benny, "He might be useful, let’s take him with us."

Benny’s heart skipped, he waved his hands frantically, "Lord Azure Dragon, how could I possibly be of any use? You’re far above my level, having me along would only slow you down."

"No, no, you are quite useful," Li Ming said meaningfully, as Theo’s eyes flickered, "Alright, he comes with us then."

Benny cursed inwardly, but could only force a wry smile, and then followed, shaky and unsteady.

"Only Connet is left, we should be able to leave here rather easily," Li Ming pondered.

"Leave?" Theo shook his head with an inscrutable look: "I’ve changed my mind. The Torch Organization’s performance is even worse than I imagined. Since only Connet is left, let’s finish him too."

"And then complete the Sublimator here."

Easy defeats of Fernand and Kovis led Theo to change his mind, believing he had overestimated the Torch Organization.

What he wanted was a complete Sublimator; grabbing a half-broken one was just a reluctant necessity. But now that the plan was going smoother than expected, he naturally wanted the entire Sublimator.

"I don’t like changing plans on the fly," Li Ming shook his head.

"You made a promise to me," Theo frowned.

"Don’t you have the Sublimator in your hands now?" Li Ming retorted, "You want to manufacture it? That’s a different price."

Theo’s eyes flickered, then his gaze became more intense.

A wild surge of energy came charging, and the center of the temporary base was eventually affected, metallic walls cracking inch by inch.

Dust swirled up, Li Ming suddenly raised his hand, his mech stalling for a moment, followed by a piercing scream.

Li Ming flung the figure in his hand onto the ground.

"Damn Connet." Sandro got up, covered in blood, with two deep gashes crisscrossed on his chest, skin and flesh peeled.

"Lord Azure Dragon!" With the storm raging, the dust cleared to reveal a scene of steel ruins.

Connet’s eyes glowed crimson as he hovered in the sky, the luminescent blue crystal on his forehead shone brilliantly, coldly overlooking everyone below.

Jesaya’s arms were curved, with electrical sparks bursting from his joints, Ulrich seemed unharmed as he was at range, though his complexion was pale, his energy severely depleted.

"The Boiling Blood Alloy, did you do it!" Connet bellowed thunderously, looking down at the gathering below.

"Boiling Blood Alloy?" Everyone paused momentarily, then it clicked.

Connet had mentioned that during their last ambush by Asimara, a large batch of Boiling Blood Alloy had been confiscated.

"You knew," Li Ming said evenly, seemingly unconcerned.

"You manipulated Des to your whim, and even silently switched out the Boiling Blood Alloy. If not for a fluke, I wouldn’t even know about this!" Connet screamed with humiliation, he had never been played to such an extent.

"The Boiling Blood Alloy was switched out?"

"Connet didn’t know?"

Ulrich was shocked, then gasped, no wonder Connet’s rage was exceptionally high, he would be unable to hold back in his place too.

The look towards Azure Dragon grew even more fearful, and the rest couldn’t help but feel a surge of emotions.

Seeming extremely wronged, Connet said, "My Torch Organization invited you here, not without compensation. Why do you keep plotting against us again and again!"

His eyes burned crimson, like a lonely hero standing against all odds, as if those below were the real villains, especially Azure Dragon, the worst kind.

"This..." Li Ming pondered before looking to Theo: "When they sent someone to Ulrich’s castle, planning to capture me, did they ask for my opinion?"

Theo’s mouth twitched.

"As for the compensation... we have to be able to get it, don’t we? Once the Sublimator is completed, do we really have a way out?" Li Ming asked again.

The originally enraged Connet’s expression froze, his eyes scanning over Benny, who was trembling in the corner. "Looks like you already knew."

The others’ expressions shifted slightly, without saying too much, they had roughly guessed, Connet in the end hadn’t intended to let them live.

"There’s no point in arguing about this, who holds the moral high ground? What use is that?" Li Ming shook his head, speaking with even-tempered calm, "Where’s your confidence? Show it to Theo."

"Enough talk." Theo glanced at Li Ming, his expression cold, and moved swiftly.

Li Ming’s eyes flickered, ready to flee as planned.

With a flap of his blue wings, Connet trailed a blue streak through the air, the storm rampant as he vanished from the spot, reappearing in the distance, his eyes showing deep wariness, yet he said firmly:

"My Torch Organization has survived many a downfall, Yitelan couldn’t exterminate us, and neither will you!"

As his words fell, Li Ming suddenly turned around, looking towards the rear core area. Only a few buildings, made of relatively good materials, remained, including the laboratory and the place where the Dimension Crystals were stored.
