Chapter 456: Chapter 242: The Heaven-Defying Combat Mechanism
A purple curtain rose from the ground, and the raging thunderstorm only caused it to ripple slightly. Beyond the translucent Energy Barrier lay the main base of the Torch Organization.
The boundary is tightly sealed, encompassing only this rest area, even isolating the Ascension Device Laboratory.
Its coverage isn’t small, but it extends more outward, covering a large expanse of the planet’s surface.
Shredded metal fragments whirled in the air, colliding with the Tank Guard Mecha with a "clang" of impact, barely visible arcs of electricity emanating from it, but amidst the ever-expanding thunderstorm, nothing was discernible.
Li Ming looked up, his gaze fixed intently on that purple curtain. On the surface, it seemed to be the same type used to protect the warehouse.
"Indeed, this area still has defense mechanisms." Li Ming wasn’t surprised.
Connet must have considered how to suppress, intimidate or even kill these many A-level life forms in the same place, should conflicts arise.
This purple Energy Shield, along with the Energy Film protecting the storage of Dimension Crystals, likely belonged to the same type, or rather, from the same Dimensional Creature.
However, the strength of this Energy Shield exceeded his expectations, easily capable of blocking even the residual effects of combat between A-level life forms.
"And there’s this sensation of blockage..." Li Ming lifted his metallic arm, feeling a tangible resistance, akin to being in a swamp.
With a thought, the combat intelligence of the Tank Guard Mecha, which wasn’t specifically enhanced, merely a standard auxiliary system, detected multiple positional reactions.
Meanwhile, on the battlefield, the fight continued. Brother’s facial wounds were regenerating at an incredibly rapid rate, and with a surge of immense strength, he immediately grabbed the thick mechanical arm striking at him.
With a kick of his leg, he sent Taipo flying, leaving a deep, huge footprint in the abdomen armor of the latter, quickly creating distance.
In an instant, space twisted around him, pitch black yet shimmering with a rainbow hue, as energy burst forth from his body.
It spread rapidly across the ground like oil, and from it flew black crow-like creatures, swarming the skies.
A portion of these black crows, like weary birds returning to their nest, turned and poured into Brother’s body, where Special Energy flowed internally, rapidly healing his facial wounds.
The rest formed some kind of protective barrier around his body.
Taipo arrested his retreat, brought his hands together to form an invisible Special Energy field, which should be some kind of Gravity field based on his positioning.
But because of the terrifying Thunder Element he wielded, the field was distorted to an extent, gathering ions into a fearsome electrical sphere, striking down from nowhere like the arrow of a deity!
Brother’s movements stiffened momentarily, the paralysis almost immediate, his muscles tensed, veins bulged, the adaptability of an Advanced Life Form rapidly overcoming the paralysis caused by the ionic sphere piercing through him.
But Lei wasn’t just spectating; his hands clasped tight, thick thunder light converging to form a sharp, cyan-blue dagger, his mecha twisting mechanically, amassing endless power.
It was clear to see, the Energy Confinement Device on his arm turned a glowing red, seemingly unable to withstand the pressure.
Streams of cyan-blue light surged across his body, with energy reactions skyrocketing!
In the next moment, his slender body suddenly blurred, transforming into a blue bolt of lightning, intersecting with Brother in a flash, as if teleporting behind him.
Slash!
A flash of electricity, Brother’s pupils constricted, a massive gash carved out at his neck, a third of it severed, the edges charred.
Lei continued to ravage the insides of the wound with his energy, the gash further widening.
Brother’s body shook violently, now able to move; he swiftly turned to block Lei’s renewed surge, retaliating furiously.
The strength transmitted through the collision to Lei’s Mecha caused a violent shaking, even fracturing it.
...
Earlier, in Des’s room, the light was dim. On the table in front of him, several metal materials were laid out.
It was now confirmed that all the metal materials purchased by Brother were forged a second time in the same way to disguise as normal materials.
"This technology is truly astonishing." Des marveled to himself. Even though he did not have a great impression of the Mechanical Azure Dragon, he had to admit at this moment that the other’s technique was exquisite, beyond imagination.
Even with the naked eye, he could only spot a few inconsistencies.
If they were traded in civilizations of lower technological level, their detection equipment being less advanced, there was a real possibility of slipping through, deceiving them.
"But his purpose isn’t to swindle people..." Des pondered, such actions carried more benefits than harm, damaging reputation easily, and could only deceive ordinary people,
He hadn’t heard of similar forgery methods spreading within the circle of Mechanics, indicating the other party didn’t use it much.
"Then for what reason?" Des pondered for a long time.
He even considered retro-tracing the source but was increasingly astonished because the molecular structures within these obsolete materials achieved an absolutely balanced state in an extremely sophisticated manner.
Destroying even a bit too much would cause drastic changes to the surface characteristics.
Seeing the bigger picture from a small sample, the technical level of this Azure Dragon was profoundly deep, at least in the field of material science.
"Formidable or not, I don’t care, as long as he doesn’t take what’s mine." He mused to himself.
