Chapter 431: Chapter 229: Group Assault of Justice - Bryrim’s Despair_2
Theo glanced at him, having already put away his dagger, "He’s not weak, I’m not yet at the point where I could kill an A-level life form in a single encounter."
"Not there yet?" Li Ming unconsciously doubted, suspecting that Theo intentionally hid his full capabilities, not wishing to reveal more of his means.
However, Bryrim was already grievously injured and very unlikely to escape again.
In the midst of the battlefield, Sandro and Bryrim were fighting fiercely.
Boom.
Enraged, Bryrim exerted all his strength with each move, each one a hard clash, each one deadly.
In an instant, the two exchanged hundreds of blows, with energy fluctuations swirling like tornadoes throughout the massive warship, its metal skeleton clanging loudly before shattering.
Even though the size of this starship was comparable to a small continental plate, it could not withstand such intense combat.
Nevertheless, at this moment, Bryrim showed his true abilities.
The energy crystals on the surface of his skin glinted, his combat skills were extremely exquisite, he mobilized all kinds of elemental energy, and even slowly healed his own wounds.
In his confrontation with Sandro, not only did he not fall behind, he gradually gained an equal footing, even taking the upper hand.
Sandro was surrounded by scorching flames, manipulated magma with great force and power, but his mind grew increasingly anxious.
He had hoped to take advantage of the situation and beat a downed foe, but this guy had a surprisingly strong will to live.
The Azure Dragon trio was still watching from the side, and although their eyes showed no emotion, Sandro could already imagine the trio’s faint scorn.
The four-person group, although ostensibly maintaining cooperation and alliance, was subtly positioning him as the lowest-ranked member.
If he failed to successfully beat the downed foe, he himself felt that he would lose face.
Just as this thought surfaced, Sandro suddenly felt a sharp pain in his eyes. Bryrim’s body burst into dazzling light, with intertwining azure patterns, thunder roared, and a thick Thunder Ring exploded.
The intense paralyzing sensation made Sandro’s body stiffen for a moment.
Bryrim, however, did not press his advantage; instead, he whipped up a violent azure wind element and shot backward.
"Tsck..." Li Ming shook his head, looking towards Ulrich: "Trouble..."
Ulrich nodded, already stretching his hands out toward the direction from which Bryrim had fled.
Bryrim, sweating profusely and agitated, only wanted to escape as quickly as possible.
But he suddenly felt an immense pressure enveloping him, his speed abruptly slowed, and pressure from all directions closed in like tangible walls, forcing him to stop mid-air.
Ulrich’s arms trembled slightly, his peripheral vision already caught sight of two cannon muzzles appearing next to Azure Dragon, one large and one small.
How did it turn into two?
Ulrich was taken aback.
Then, from the two cannon muzzles, spewed out one blue and one purple, two fierce energy light columns, with the one on the left obviously much thicker.
Bryrim’s eyes bulged, watching in despair as the two incoming energy light columns, their angles carefully calculated, intersected right where he was.
Immediately after, boom!
It was like a blue-purple sun suddenly exploded, the chain reactions from the two different energies seemingly made the explosion even more ferocious.
Rumbling!
Boiling light flared out, winds whirled up dust, and a great portion of the starship was affected, with many of the makeshift metal platforms getting swept up.
The scavengers, who had already scattered when Sandro joined the battle, now stared blankly at the huge energy light sphere.
The dazzling brilliance even made the eyes of many scavengers teary.
Sandro stared dumbfounded, his complexion changing; after those two shots, he’d probably be severely injured, if not dead.
Theo slightly frowned, glancing at Li Ming; every so often, the other man would surprise him.
The only thing he was grateful for now was that Li Ming himself was only a B-level life form, and he, Theo, was particularly adept at assassination.
"The power is so huge..." Li Ming murmured to himself, also somewhat worried. He hoped he hadn’t killed Bryrim outright.
He had been thinking about extracting Bryrim’s genetic essence, and it would be a great loss if Bryrim were actually dead.
It wasn’t until a long while later, after the last traces of the firestorm had disappeared, that the central part of the abandoned starship had nothing left but a huge hole, the whole structure teetering on the brink of collapse, continuously making unbearable creaking noises.
Li Ming quickly flew up, finding Bryrim, who was floating in mid-air due to the imbalance of the starship’s internal gravity systems.
Fortunately, this guy still has strong life force; he hasn’t completely perished despite the situation. His skin has already carbonized and the embedded crystals shattered long ago.
He is unable to speak, and only two pits remain where his eyes should be as he emits "hehe" sounds from his mouth.
"Good that he’s not dead." Li Ming breathed a sigh of relief and quickly extracted the Genetic Essence from his body. Despite severe injuries, the extraction faced no hindrance.
After extracting it, Li Ming finally breathed more easily; at least the effort wasn’t for nothing.
"What... are you doing?" Theo appeared beside him soundlessly.
"Nothing much." Li Ming withdrew his hand and explained casually.
Even though he was wearing a Tank Guard Mecha, he didn’t feel very secure.
This was the first time he had witnessed Theo in action—fast, accurate, ruthless.
Subconsciously placing himself in Bryrim’s shoes, he didn’t think his own fate would be any better.
He may have a mecha on, but... Theo’s weapons weren’t for show either, and he seriously doubted that Theo had been going all out.
"An assassin..." He pondered quietly. The four of them were temporary allies but each harbored their own schemes.
Sandro was no threat at the moment, and Ulrich required a special approach. As a Superpower User, his physical strength wasn’t high.
But given this fellow’s cautious character, he would surely be prepared, making it hard to inflict real damage on him.
The only real threat was Theo, and a considerable one at that.
"You don’t mind if I kill him, do you?" Theo doubted the Mechanic’s pure motives. The reason for attacking Bryrim wasn’t just to vent anger, so he spoke to probe further.
"It’s up to you." Li Ming didn’t care and turned around to leave.
Theo was surprised, then frowned. Had he guessed wrong?
Did he not need Bryrim alive?
Then why did he rush over to check first thing?
After some thought, Theo pierced Bryrim’s forehead, extinguishing the last bit of life force.
Bryrim was a power unto himself; no one would pay a ransom for him.
"Jeez, just like that, Pastor Bryrim is dead?" Sandro said to himself too easily, so simply that it felt almost dreamlike.
Bryrim’s reputation in the Land of Stars was quite significant, at least he was more formidable than himself.
"If four Level A life forms gang up and he still gets away, that would be the real oddity," Ulrich shook his head.
"So, is it time to divide the spoils now?" Sandro tentatively asked.
"Do you still want a share?" Ulrich sneered, "He almost got away from you."
"What do you mean? I did my part, after all," Sandro immediately protested.
"We’ll split it when it’s time," Li Ming approached.
Ulrich’s expression was blank as he quickly returned to tally Bryrim’s assets.
From Bryrim’s entry into the room to his death, it took no more than ten minutes.
Bryrim had many subordinates, but none could respond in time, and even less so now; only a few confidants were crying out for revenge before being snuffed out by Sandro.
Li Ming then returned to the small spacecraft and took the tightly bound Tiago to a certain place within the Starship Ruins, located in the lower level.
Trade personnel from the Black Hole Network had already been waiting there, looking somewhat disheveled; the recent battle had also affected them significantly.
However, upon seeing Li Ming, they didn’t say much, took over Tiago, and conducted a full body scan. The trade agreement stipulated Li Ming ensure that Tiago’s strength was intact and that he had not been injected with any virus or the like.
The Black Hole Network’s inspection was incredibly thorough; they didn’t take a 10% commission for nothing.
Once they confirmed everything was in order, they had Li Ming sign the documents and carry out verification.
"We’ll wire the money within six hours after our departure."
Only at the end did a member of the Black Hole Network speak their first words to Li Ming.
Such was the confidence of the Black Hole Network; even before the person was handed over to the other party, the funds could be transferred.
