Chapter 425: Chapter 226: An Unexpected Visitor? Azure Dragon is Absent, Starship Ruins_2
"I, I have a good relationship with Lord Azure Dragon, it was just routine business, please don’t be angry."
"Has he left?" The burly man frowned, "Where did he go?"
"I’m not sure, Lord Ulrich specifically left me to watch the house," Brown shook his head.
The burly man looked around, his figure suddenly vanished, Brown’s throat bobbed, staring at the "corpses" on the ground, his whole body going limp.
He carefully crawled on the ground, intending to leave, but then he heard a voice again behind him.
"Um... all the valuable items have been moved away, even the shield generator has been dismantled, no wonder there’s no protection."
"It seems like they’ve run away." The burly man seemed somewhat regretful.
Brown was slightly stunned, then hesitantly turned his head, "Run away?"
The burly man paid him no heed, simply taking a black metal case from behind, slowly opened it, and inside was a black sniper rifle.
Its deep black was like the boundless starfield, golden lines spread from the barrel to the stock, and the metal texture was similar to ink oil, just one glance invoked a sense of luxury.
This sniper rifle should be displayed in a showcase, not held in hand.
"Do you think Azure Dragon can fix this gun?" The voice that suddenly rang in his ear startled Brown.
Only then did he realize that, unknowingly, he had walked up to the burly man, staring blankly at the sniper rifle inside the metal case.
There was a fine crack on it, extending from the barrel to the stock, hard to notice unless looked at carefully.
Brown shivered, quickly said: "Lord Azure Dragon is the highest skilled mechanic I’ve ever seen, he can definitely repair whatever damage."
The burly man smiled, "I hope so, but unfortunately..."
Click—the metal case closed, Brown froze in place, not daring to move, as the burly man held a silver pistol, its dark muzzle aimed at his forehead.
Bang!
The gunshot rang out, the silver pistol, also adorned with patterns, suddenly lit up with an incredibly bright light, Brown’s eyes went vacant, but there was no wound on his forehead.
The burly man put away the pistol and left the place.
It wasn’t until ten minutes later that Brown came back to his senses, shook his big head, looked around, and kicked awake his subordinates lying on the ground.
"Why are you all sleeping here? Bastards, idiots!" he cursed, and muttered, "How did I end up here..."
Not understanding, he climbed back onto the sofa, wanted to check the surveillance, but found it showed only static, angering him to curses again.
...
Three days later, starlight flickered, a red stream of stars like a silk ribbon.
Through the porthole, one could clearly see a huge warship wreckage floating in the starry sky, its surface ravaged and the metal shell corroded beyond recognition, only the main skeleton remained, faintly showing twinkling starlights.
This was the Starship Ruins, a gathering place established on the remains of a warship, the livable area wasn’t large, ruled only by a Level A life form, Pastor—Bryrim.
This Level A life form was quite special, not following the most common three evolution paths in interstellar, but a unique evolutionary branch from a certain civilization.
Genetic evolution, mechanical modification, and superpower users were the most common three evolution paths.
Besides these, there were numerous complex evolutionary branches in interstellar, most of which could only evolve to a certain level, and those reaching a Level A life form were already rare.
It was many civilizations’ intrinsic evolutionary routes, such as absorbing cosmic energy particles with the flesh, or using the fresh blood of powerful creatures to force mutations.
The genetic evolution path was recognized to have the smallest side effects and the greatest development potential, however, it was limited by development potential.
And there were those who, after exhausting their development potential, turned to find other paths that could continue evolution.
To avoid attracting attention, they parked their spaceship farther away, leaving only a few main ships, the rest of the warships had already parted ways.
On board were various collections left by Ulrich, led by Cassis, hidden somewhere unknown.
Reluctantly, Ulrich and Li Ming piloted a small spaceship, slowly approaching the battered giant ship.
Li Ming just wanted to complete the transaction here and leave, not wanting to waste too much time.
As he got closer, Li Ming could feel the enormous size of the warship, even larger than Trading Island, the origin of which civilization’s warship remains unknown.
"Unknown spaceship, please present your key."
The Starship Ruins were entwined with numerous old-fashioned warships, utilizing the starship’s gravity to rotate, patrol, and save fuel.
The so-called key was a docking permit for the Starship Ruins, only possessed by those who had been here before.
Since there was only one A-level lifeform here and the territory was not very large, the checks were more stringent.
Ulrich naturally had one, and after presenting it, the small warship blocking the way moved aside.
Entering the traction track, there was a loud rumble, and they stopped at the platform. Compared to the Land of Stars, this place was much cruder, with a mottled metal floor and liquids of bizarre colors everywhere.
This place was mostly mixed with scavengers; compared to raiders and mercenaries, they lived by picking up interstellar debris and mostly had bounties on their backs.
"Ha ha..." As soon as the hatch opened, a rugged laughter confronted them, "Collector, why didn’t you say a word when you came here, sneaking around."
Below, stood a figure with a strange purple-black skin embedded with black crystals, seemingly forming some kind of energy circuit, with twin horns on the head, a burly figure, wearing heavy combat armor, exuding a fierce aura,
"Bryrim..." Ulrich frowned slightly.
Li Ming lightly scanned Ulrich’s face, who sensing something, immediately shook his head: "It’s not related to me."
"It’s been a while since I saw you last; I heard that things have been unstable in the Land of Stars recently." Bryrim eyed the spaceship behind him, "Where is your personal steward?"
Ulrich’s face darkened, and he said coldly, "Bryrim, your mouth is still as foul."
"Ha ha..." Bryrim laughed loudly, extending his hand, "For the favor, ten million Star Coins."
"What do you mean?" Ulrich’s expression was cold.
"Docking fee, such a distinguished guest, you can’t be embarrassed to give just a few hundred thousand, right?" Bryrim stated as if it were obvious.
"Ten million is a bit too much," Ulrich said in a chilly voice.
"It’s all voluntary trade. If you think the price is too high, you can leave." Bryrim smiled.
"Ten million it is, give it to him." Li Ming stepped out, coming next to Ulrich.
Bryrim’s expression flickered, "You must be the Mechanical Azure Dragon."
Among the watching scavengers, a noisy chatter erupted.
Ulrich looked at him, who is giving? Surely he’s not asking me to pay?
"Forget it." Bryrim shook his head again, "Seeing as it’s on behalf of the Mechanical Lord, the docking fee is waived."
Upon hearing this, Ulrich’s expression changed, Azure Dragon has clout? Does he have no clout?
"Lord Azure Dragon, I have long admired you." Bryirim’s demeanor was very enthusiastic, coming up to greet warmly.
Offering help without cause, no good is up to no good.
Li Ming said calmly, "Just like that, waiving a docking fee of ten million, is my face that influential?"
"You are the Mechanical Lord; of course, your influence is big," Bryrim immediately said, rubbing his hands, "Of course, I also have a small request."
Li Ming was not surprised, "Let’s hear it."
Bryrim immediately said, "Could you please help me craft an A-level weapon? Rest assured, I know the rules; all the necessary materials will be prepared without shortage."
"Tch..." Ulrich scoffed, "Barely stopping here and you dare to ask for this, if he doesn’t agree, are you going to drive us away immediately?"
"How could that be." Bryrim shook his head, always with a smile on his face, "We’re all friends, so I believe Lord Azure Dragon would be willing to help me with this favor."
