Chapter 353: Chapter 190 A Headache for Ulrich Can’t Stand It Anymore_2
"Of course, I can’t let him have all the good stuff," Sandro said unconcernedly, "By relying on a unique system, he’s made a fortune in the Land of Stars. Just a while ago, he even caught a Great Mechanician to work for him; I’m quite envious."
"Great Mechanician..." Theo also paused and shook his head, "That’s Ulrich’s own skill. We’re all friends here; if he’s come to you, it’s to help."
Sandro curled his lip, "Help? Let him have that Great Mechanician under him make me an A-level weapon first."
"An A-level weapon? You really dare to ask for it," Ulrich landed, his tone cold.
Sandro shot back, "Your man killed one of my B-level executives, and you still have the nerve to ask for my help?"
Ulrich was uncompromising, "Then you’re more than welcome to leave."
"Enough, we’re all in the same boat here. If it capsizes, no one gets away," Theo interjected, as Ulrich then asked, "How’s the investigation going?"
"The spaceship’s hard drive was wiped clean; there’s no surveillance footage. The lingering neurotoxin has been confirmed as ’Eternal Sleep’."
Theo said gravely, "Seraad was hiding on this spaceship at the time; it’s certain that he did it."
He extruded a virtual screen, "The ordinary crew were killed by the neurotoxin, but the remaining four B-level life forms were shattered too severely, as though they put up a fight."
"However, after a cell vitality test, the neurotoxin levels within them are not low, so theoretically, they shouldn’t have had the strength to resist." Days had passed since the incident, and the necessary data had already been analyzed.
Theo frowned slightly, "But apart from the corpses of the Golden Eyed people, no other bodies were found. Their blood was mixed together, and we’re attempting to separate it, though it’s unlikely to be of much use."
"Seraad..." Sandro shook his head, "One B-level life form is causing unrest in the Land of Stars."
This robust A-level life form stroked his chin and flung out a virtual screen with numerous pictures flashing by—the significant battle damage inside the spaceship, with some areas severely destroyed.
"Also, the combat traces are wrong. If these people were taken down by the neurotoxin, there shouldn’t be such obvious battle damage inside the spaceship."
His battle experience was rich, "Moreover, a melee involving five B-level life forms, and they couldn’t even break the spaceship?"
"I suspect that some of the battle marks were deliberately added afterward and that the actual combat didn’t last that long."
"There’s no need for Seraad to do that."
Theo’s expression changed subtly, "You mean, there was another person?"
Then he shrugged, "I’m not sure. My ’hound’s nose’ only detected a scent that doesn’t belong to any of the bodies at the scene; that should be Seraad’s."
"If there is someone else, it must not be a simple character, someone who can see through Seraad’s disguise and easily kill him. Could it be an A-level life form?"
Sandro implied.
Theo’s expression tightened, then he said solemnly, "The problem is, why would Seraad use neurotoxin to slaughter the Golden Eyed people?"
"His primary goal should have been to escape, not to kill. Did the Golden Eyed people not wish to leave? What were they here for?"
Theo’s gaze fell on Ulrich, whose face became tight.
Sandro added, "Kay, that Golden Eyed person by the side of the Great Mechanician Azure Dragon, the only son of a major family in the Judge Civilization."
"Ulrich, don’t you have anything to say?"
Ulrich frowned, "I’ve investigated; he didn’t leave the Floating Island that day."
"He’s a Great Mechanician, it’s not surprising he has the means to do so," Sandro said nonchalantly, "Theo, that ’Casablanca Flower’ you paid a high price for might just be on him."
Theo didn’t press Ulrich further, but instead looked at Sandro and spoke gravely, "He’s just a B-level life form; the ’Casablanca Flower’ means nothing to him. How come it’s just now apparent that your speculation abilities are so formidable?"
"Four B-level life forms, eroded by nerve gas, significantly weakened. Seraad excels in speed, it’s impossible for him to fight head-on. His destructive power isn’t that strong to begin with, your speculation doesn’t hold water."
Theo warned, "Don’t try to use me."
Sandro scoffed coldly.
Each harboring their own schemes, Ulrich’s temples throbbed incessantly. At that moment, Huo Tan approached, whispering, "Master, the Judger civilization has sent a message."
Taking a deep breath as the flames of anger he suppressed threatened to erupt, he scanned both individuals and said solemnly, "Wait here for me."
He hurriedly followed Huo Tan to a small room. It was there that he took the smart terminal from Huo Tan’s hand, projecting a virtual screen that displayed an individual wearing advanced combat armor with golden eyes.
Coming straight to the point, "I am from the Judger civilization—Gunn. Collector—Ulrich, we have just received news that a group of our combat personnel has died in the Land of Stars, on your turf."
"We expect, you can give us an explanation."
Ulrich’s expression slightly darkened, "Explanation? You all know exactly what kind of place the Land of Stars is. No one who comes here can be guaranteed safety."
"Are you admitting that their deaths are connected to you?" Gunn’s tone was devoid of emotion.
Ulrich’s face twisted, "Their deaths have nothing to do with me. I’ve investigated; they died at the hands of the Shadow Concealment thief—Seraad."
The other party was silent for a moment, the golden vertical pupils glanced to the side as if checking the information, but then continued:
"We don’t trust your investigation, either hand over the culprit within seven days, or we will take necessary measures."
"Necessary measures?" Ulrich felt a towering rage surge within him, not long ago it was the threats from the Torch Organization, and now the Judger civilization’s threats.
After all, he was an A-level life form; did they really think he was a pushover?
"Or..." The other party’s tone shifted at just the right moment, "hand over Kay to us."
Ulrich repressed his anger, his brow furrowed. He didn’t want to get involved in this kind of affair. That person named Kay, the interstellar alliance hadn’t forgotten him either.
He had thought that Azure Dragon would quickly toss this person aside, but who knew he had been holding on to him all this time.
"I will consider it." Ulrich’s expression became controlled, ultimately impassive.
The other party seemed about to say more, but Ulrich’s face was utterly cold, "I am the Earth Splitter, Sky Destroyer, Collector—Ulrich!"
"So what if it’s an advanced civilization, I don’t want to provoke you, but you wouldn’t want to see an A-level life form plotting to assassinate your high ranks either."
After a moment of silence, the other party said, "We hope you consider it carefully."
As the screen went dark, with a crackling sound—Ulrich’s palm clenched tightly, turning the smart terminal into fragments, sparks flying.
...
"Is this thing really that powerful?" Li Ming examined the golden potion in his hand, unclear whether Seraad’s final words were a delay tactic or the truth.
"Enhancing gene potential? And from the very root at that..." Li Ming pondered.
If that was the case, its effect on him could be extraordinarily significant.
His Control Objects were amplifiers, and he himself was the base number.
The most fundamental strength, speed, defense, and element control could only be amplified through the amplifier.
And these aspects could only be improved by elevating the life form’s level.
