Chapter 961 - Chapter 961 Chapter 961 Because He Was Excited

Chapter 961: Chapter 961: Because He Was Excited Chapter 961: Chapter 961: Because He Was Excited Luo Ziling was the first to arrive at the teahouse.

After asking the waiter for a private room, he sat down in the room.

Before the waiter had brought the tea and snacks he ordered, Yang Qingye peeked in, looking around furtively.

“Brother-in-law,” Yang Qingye said as he walked into the private room and plopped down next to Luo Ziling, his face full of gloom, “My dad called me today, chewed me out something fierce; he said my sister and I were raised for nothing, actually mixing with you–a sworn enemy of the Yang Family.”

“So what did you say?” Luo Ziling asked, a bit curious.

“I said I’m not hanging out with you all the time, just occasionally seeing you. But my dad didn’t believe it and threatened to break my legs when I get back.” Yang Qingye said, rather angrily, “My dad also said that you’re using me to do things, with the goal of stirring up hatred between the Yang Family and the other families, and to take the opportunity to trap me.”

At this point, Yang Qingye, full of doubts, asked Luo Ziling, “Brother-in-law, are you really trying to use me like my dad says?”

Seeing the sincere look on Yang Qingye’s face as he asked, Luo Ziling felt a little embarrassed to deceive him, and because it was in his nature, he didn’t deny it, “Teaming up with you to settle the score with Chen Jiahai, I did indeed intend to use your status as Mr. Yang, because Chen Jiahai would definitely be somewhat cautious around you.”

Upon hearing this, Yang Qingye became annoyed and jumped up from the chair, “Brother-in-law, so you really are using me. You dumped the entire Night North Bar on me, too, with the same thought in mind, right? Wanting to push me into the limelight?”

“No, that’s not right,” Luo Ziling shook his head, “I never wanted the Night North Bar, nor had intentions of managing it; I thought someone around you must have management experience, so I let you have it. However, your sister didn’t want me to do that, so I didn’t insist.”

“Great, brother-in-law, so you haven’t been honest with me, harbouring so many ulterior motives while being with me,” Yang Qingye felt a bit of rage, his anger from being scolded by Yang Yunlin earlier was also vented, “And there I was, treating you as a friend, without a hint of selfishness, and yet you were using me. I really misjudged you; you’ve gone too far.”

At that moment, there was a knock on the door, followed by Yang Qingyin’s head poking in.

Seeing Yang Qingye with a flushed face, neck stiff with anger, Yang Qingyin couldn’t help but be puzzled and asked, “Qingye, what’s the matter? Did getting scolded by father make you come here to vent your anger?”

Yang Qingyin’s words only made Yang Qingye more infuriated, “Sis, you’re not even married to him yet, and you’re already taking his side and using me along with him, scheming against me, do you think I’m that easy to bully?”

Yang Qingyin didn’t expect Yang Qingye to respond like that and was startled, but she soon became annoyed as well, “Yang Qingye, what are you saying?”

“It’s really laughable; being used by you two, I’ve seen through you,” Yang Qingye said. With an angry glare at Luo Ziling, he whirled around and left the private room.

Luo Ziling wanted to chase after him but was stopped by Yang Qingyin, “Let him go!”

“What happened?” Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin asked almost in unison.

Luo Ziling recounted what had just transpired, still feeling downcast, as he hadn’t expected his honesty to result in Yang Qingye turning on him.

“Even if you had those thoughts, you shouldn’t have told him,” Yang Qingyin was somewhat speechless at Luo Ziling’s naivety, “I know you had those thoughts, and I’m not pleased, let alone him?”

“I’m not used to lying,” Luo Ziling honestly replied, “My grandfather taught me from a young age to be honest. Most of the time, I choose not to speak rather than lie. I feel uncomfortable deceiving others. If he hadn’t asked, I wouldn’t have mentioned it, but since he did, I told him what was on my mind.”

Yang Qingyin was speechless again. She found Luo Ziling’s way of thinking somewhat hard to understand. However, upon realizing that Luo Ziling had grown up with his grandfather, had never been to school, and had limited social interactions, which could be said to have resulted in an incomplete life experience, she eventually stopped being bothered by it.

Someone who grew up under such circumstances, having odd behaviors, is understandable, right?

“Then let me ask you, have you had any intimate relationships with other women?” Yang Qingyin asked Luo Ziling indignantly, “With Ouyang Feifei, Ouyang Huihui, that injured female soldier, Luo Yuqing, and Chen Xiaoyi.”

“I had some intimate contact when I fainted from exhaustion, but it was unconscious,” Luo Ziling didn’t expect Yang Qingyin to ask such a question, and he had to lie about it, so he vaguely replied, “When I was completely unconscious, I might have accidentally touched something.”

This reply earned him a pinch from Yang Qingyin, “Who knows whether you did it on purpose.”

“If you think I did it on purpose, then I won’t argue. I can’t argue,” Luo Ziling quickly changed the subject, “Will Qingye hold a grudge against me? By the way, what exactly happened to make him so impulsive?”

“Because you teamed up with him against Chen Jiahai, taking over Night North Bar, and as a result, my dad scolded him. My dad even threatened to cut off their father-son relationship. He originally thought that your relationship with him was purely friendship. He argued with my dad when he said you were using him, but then you admitted to it, so of course he was annoyed. Actually, he’s pretty impulsive in the way he acts. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have gotten himself into those messes. Don’t worry, I’ll talk to him. He’s reasonable, and he won’t take it to heart,” Yang Qingyin said with a heavy sigh, “Actually, you didn’t have to tell him anything. He would have understood many things on his own. Some things, he would even take the initiative to help you with!”

“Fine, I’ll talk to him once he’s calmed down in a couple of days.”

“I’ll make the arrangements,” she offered.

“When I went to Chen Jiahai with Qingye, I indeed used his identity as Mr. Yang. I think everyone understands that, and he should too. He shouldn’t be mad even if I admitted it!” Luo Ziling was still a bit dismayed.

Although Yang Qingye could be a bit sloppy with his actions, Luo Ziling still considered him a friend worth having.

He didn’t want their relationship to become rigid, so he felt a bit guilty about Yang Qingye’s agitated departure today.

“He was very upset today, or else he wouldn’t have reacted that way. Okay, let’s not talk about him anymore,” Yang Qingyin asked Luo Ziling, “Do you want to continue drinking tea? Or shall we go to my place? The bronze figures have been returned, Wang Zhenjun brought them over. Do you want to go and see them?”

Yang Qingyin took the initiative to make plans, and Luo Ziling surely wouldn’t refuse, promptly agreeing.

“It’s the weekend tomorrow, what are your plans?” Yang Qingyin asked Luo Ziling, tilting her head, “It will be a snowy day again tomorrow. Do you want to go to the Great Wall and see the snow?”

As Yang Qingyin made such an offer, Luo Ziling immediately felt a bit of a headache, as he had promised Ling Ruonan to accompany her somewhere for fun tomorrow.

But not wanting to dampen Yang Qingyin’s enthusiasm, he could only say somewhat embarrassedly, “My mom has a day off tomorrow too, and she wants me to spend time with her. Why don’t we take her along to the Great Wall to see the snowy scenery?”

Yang Qingyin paused for a moment but eventually nodded, “Okay then!”

Although Yang Qingyin agreed, Luo Ziling clearly sensed that she wasn’t completely happy with that arrangement.
