Luo Ziling told Ling Ruonan about this, and Ling Ruonan didn’t have any objections.

Although she knew Chen Qiaoyu had a crush on Luo Xusheng back in the day, there was no real entanglement between the two, so she wasn’t worried about Chen Qiaoyu causing trouble. Besides, she also wanted to talk to Chen Qiaoyu about Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin’s relationship.

She had communicated with Yang Yunlin before; although it wasn’t pleasant, they had exchanged opinions.

But she hadn’t interacted with Chen Qiaoyu at all, at least not since Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin started their relationship.

The dinner was arranged at a rather upscale restaurant not far from the school. Yang Qingyin didn’t attend the last class but went straight to prepare. She changed clothes and put on light makeup, with the intention to look more beautiful.

After all, she was the main character today.

Yang Qingyin also needed to brief her mother Chen Qiaoyu and brother Yang Qingye, to make sure they wouldn’t say something inappropriate.

After preparing these things, she, along with Chen Qiaoyu and Yang Qingye, went to the restaurant to wait.

Meanwhile, after class, Luo Ziling left school with Luo Yuqing to go pick up Luo Liansheng.

Yang Qingyin and Yang Qingye sat obediently beside Chen Qiaoyu, with no expressions on their faces either.

Seeing Luo Liansheng come in, they immediately stood up, no longer with an unsmiling look, and all showed smiles.

Chen Qiaoyu was a little embarrassed, but being experienced in life, she gracefully stepped forward to greet and apologized for her impudence. Chen Qiaoyu had a straightforward personality, so after some courtesy, she directly clarified a few things.

"I have long known about Qingyin and Ziling dating. I am caught in the middle without much recourse, but I just hope that if they truly want to be together, we, as elders, should give them the opportunity to make their own choice." These were words that Chen Qiaoyu had discussed with Ling Ruonan earlier.

Luo Liansheng knew about Chen Qiaoyu’s pursuit of Luo Xusheng back then, but Luo Xusheng didn’t take her seriously. He also believed that, after so many years, with their children nearly of marriageable age, the past was behind them. Thus, he didn’t regard Chen Qiaoyu as a threat and somewhat admired her directness.

Luo Liansheng favored Ouyang Feifei, as he was closer with Ouyang Lingyun. But he knew Luo Ziling’s relationship with Yang Qingyin was closer than with Ouyang Feifei, and he didn’t want parental and elder interference to ruin their happiness.

Back then, he too had interfered with Luo Xusheng and Ling Ruonan, but ultimately didn’t forcefully obstruct and provided all the help he could. Unfortunately, even with the combined efforts of the three, they couldn’t withstand destructive forces, leading to the family’s separation over the years.

He didn’t want history to repeat itself, hoping Luo Ziling could choose for himself, but he also wished the journey wouldn’t be too tumultuous.

Therefore, Luo Liansheng felt conflicted inside, unsure how to respond to Chen Qiaoyu’s direct statement. In the end, he simply said, "Children have their fate, and as elders, all we can do is respect their choices and give them our blessings."

Although Luo Liansheng didn’t explicitly state his position, his presence at the dinner and these words relaxed Chen Qiaoyu.

The dinner was quite lively.

After a foolish stunt last time, and a fiery burst at Ouyang Feifei, Yang Qingyin scolded him harshly. Knowing his impulsiveness, Yang Qingye behaved very reservedly today, particularly with Ling Ruonan and Luo Liansheng present, responding only when questioned, like a well-behaved student.

Luo Yuqing continued to play the role of the joyous bright spot.

Being familiar with Yang Qingyin and reasonably acquainted with Yang Qingye, having known Chen Qiaoyu previously, and being Luo Ziling’s sister, plus her inherently lively nature, she led the laughter of the dinner party.

During the meal, she sat between Ling Ruonan and Luo Liansheng, facing Yang Qingyin and Chen Qiaoyu, allowing her easy interaction with anyone. She enjoyed using Luo Ziling as a comedic subject and knew well how to entertain the elders.

Thus, her loud conversations filled the dinner, making everyone laugh.

Chen Qiaoyu, being of straightforward character and having good tolerance for alcohol, particularly wanted to gain Luo Liansheng’s favor, so she showed great enthusiasm.

Ling Ruonan, although undecided between Yang Qingyin and Ouyang Feifei for a daughter-in-law, was equally joyful seeing so many people happy at the dinner.

She understood, although Chen Qiaoyu’s status in the Yang Family wasn’t significant, she was still Yang Yunlin’s wife, Yang Qingyin’s biological mother, and had Yang Qingye as her son, carrying some weight, especially in front of Yang Yunlin.

Thus, she showed sufficient respect for Chen Qiaoyu, disregarding past unpleasant experiences.

The two women even planned to have tea or go shopping together sometime.

Meanwhile, Yang Qingyin and Luo Ziling were the most reserved.

The conversation topics during dinner revolved around them.

Although sitting next to each other, they both felt a bit uncomfortable.

Luo Ziling wasn’t bothered much, but Yang Qingyin was always reserved, feeling shy being frequently discussed in front of so many people.

Especially with her own mom and Luo Ziling’s mom present.

Whether acting as a daughter or a daughter-in-law, she couldn’t completely relax.

Just when everyone was joyfully drinking and eating, Wuyue rushed in, leaned close to the outermost seated Luo Ziling, and whispered something. The words instantly changed Luo Ziling’s expression.

Wuyue informed him that Yang Yunlin had heard the news and was rushing over; his car had already entered the parking lot and would be upstairs shortly.

At this moment, Luo Ziling no longer cared about who leaked the information to Yang Yunlin; he focused on avoiding embarrassment.

He knew Yang Yunlin hurried over certainly not to toast with Luo Liansheng but to express his anger.

He didn’t want today’s joyful occasion to be tainted, nor his grandfather to be humiliated.

But he couldn’t think of a solution to prevent the impending trouble.
