Chapter 1438: Chapter 1438: It Was Actually Her Plan
After giving Yang Xiaodong a little beating and seeing his despondent face, Luo Ziling’s mood immediately improved.
"Oh, my dear sister, why are you so dolled up today?" When he saw Luo Yuqing, he couldn’t resist cracking a joke. "Don’t tell me you’ve got a blind date arranged for today?"
When Luo Yuqing walked in, Fang Dongxun had just stepped out to take a call, so Luo Ziling had no scruples in teasing her.
"You little brat, how dare you tease me?" Luo Yuqing said, angrily smacking Luo Ziling a few times. "What, you’d rather I turned up looking scruffy?"
"It’s rare to see you dressed like this!" Luo Ziling remarked, a tinge of jealousy in his voice. "Don’t tell me you’ve really taken a liking to Fang Dongxun?"
"Like your big dumb head," Luo Yuqing retorted, hitting him again. "I’m not blind, you know."
When Fang Dongxun returned from his call, he coincidentally saw Luo Yuqing attacking Luo Ziling. He froze for a moment before chuckling, "Yuqing, you’ve just become a big sister, and here you are already exercising your sisterly authority?"
"Exactly. It’d be such a waste not to use it," Luo Yuqing said as she finally let go of Luo Ziling and took a seat.
"I really envy you for having a sister," Fang Dongxun laughed. "A sister is so much better than a younger sibling."
"So, what you mean is, in your eyes, I’m way better than your Qianqian?" Luo Yuqing asked smugly.
"Of course. It’s not even on the same level," Fang Dongxun replied without hesitation.
"I’ll make sure to tell Qianqian what you just said and let’s see how she deals with you!" Luo Yuqing said, pulling out her phone to text Fang Qianqian.
Although Luo Yuqing and Fang Qianqian knew each other, they weren’t close and rarely contacted each other, but they did exchange numbers.
"Don’t!" Fang Dongxun immediately softened his tone. "Please, don’t incite internal family conflicts."
"What’s in it for me?" Luo Yuqing flashed a triumphant smile.
"Just do as your Miss Fang says more often in the future," Fang Dongxun responded decisively, quickly changing the topic. "Anyway, where are Chu Ming and the others? I invited Chu Ming, Cheng Binbin, Yan Ying, and Zhao Lijing over. Since we’ve already taken over Qingniao Media, we need to settle their matters today."
"Was this article your doing?" Luo Ziling pushed his phone in front of Fang Dongxun.
"Definitely not!" Fang Dongxun looked at the article on the phone with visible surprise. "How did word get out so quickly?"
"I had someone write it up," Luo Yuqing admitted nonchalantly. "I think this matter needs some good publicity. If this piece gets a lot of traction, I plan to have a follow-up article written and push the buzz even higher. That way, our takeover of Qingniao Media will become a significant event in the entertainment industry. If the hype reaches a fever pitch, we’ll blow up big time."
Hearing her explanation, Luo Ziling and Fang Dongxun exchanged astonished glances.
Fang Dongxun had assumed it was a coordinated plan between Luo Yuqing and Luo Ziling. But observing Luo Ziling’s genuinely surprised reaction, he quickly realized Ziling hadn’t been informed.
"Up next, I’m planning to leak the news about Chu Ming, Yan Ying, Cheng Binbin, and Zhao Lijing joining Qingniao Media," Luo Yuqing continued, completely ignoring their shock. "I’ll even include how their current companies are opposing the move, ultimately forcing those companies to issue statements."
"Haha, Yuqing, I’m honestly impressed," Fang Dongxun laughed heartily. "If their companies come out to deny the rumors and threaten breaches of contract, but in the end, they still join Qingniao Media, people will understand just how powerful Qingniao Media’s backing is. From then on, nobody will dare underestimate Qingniao Media. Brilliant—absolutely brilliant—Mount Everest level brilliant."
As he spoke, Fang Dongxun gave Luo Yuqing a big thumbs-up.
Luo Ziling also fully grasped Luo Yuqing’s intentions.
Their purpose was crystal clear: using online buzz to draw attention to Qingniao Media’s acquisition. Qingniao Media had already caught industry attention when it was deliberately suppressed to the brink of bankruptcy. With some additional hype, it would generate even more interest. Once Qingniao Media received financial backing and some high-profile stars joined, previously shelved projects could be released. The company’s status would rise significantly, leaving no room for anyone to look down on them.
Capitalizing on the star power of Chu Ming, Cheng Binbin, Yan Ying, and Zhao Lijing would undoubtedly be more effective than spending massive sums on advertising.
Luo Yuqing’s quick thinking and grasp of trending opportunities were undeniable. Luo Ziling couldn’t help but admire her.
"Sis, I raise a cup of tea to toast you," Luo Ziling said with mock reverence, holding up his teacup. "To express my unending admiration for you, as endless as the Yellow River. Our Luo Family is truly blessed with incredible women. From now on, I’ll follow your every command."
"Luo Ziling, you little pest! Are you mocking me on purpose?" Luo Yuqing shot back, pinching him angrily. "Hmph! Remember what you just said—’follow my every command,’ huh? That means you’ll be the one washing my clothes and smelly socks later!"
Fang Dongxun, sipping his tea, choked and coughed loudly before bursting into laughter.
"Sis, at worst, I’ll buy you a washing machine, alright? It’s freezing cold these days—would you really make me wash your clothes by hand?"
"Of course I would. Why wouldn’t I? You’re my brother, not my husband!"
Poor Fang Dongxun choked again on her words, coughing incessantly.
Just then, there was a knock on the private room door, and Chu Ming, Cheng Binbin, Yan Ying, and Zhao Lijing arrived.
Luo Yuqing immediately stopped fooling around and sat sternly to one side.
In an instant, she transformed from a feisty troublemaker to an elegant and composed lady.
Chu Ming and the others were well aware of Luo Yuqing’s status. On top of that, Luo Yuqing was more stunning than any of them, and her background far surpassed theirs. As a result, they felt a sense of inferiority in her presence.
"The reason I invited you all here today is to inform you of something. Yesterday, we finalized a deal with Wang Kemeng of Qingniao Media. From now on, Luo and I are the major shareholders of Qingniao Media. Today, we’d like to formally invite you to join us. Chu Ming will be responsible for day-to-day operations, while Miss Luo will act as our representative CEO, with final decision-making authority," Fang Dongxun explained before turning to Cheng Binbin, Zhao Lijing, and Yan Ying with a grin. "So, my three superstars, I assume you’ve had the night to think it over. I’m a straightforward person who doesn’t like beating around the bush. Let us know your decisions today."
Hearing Fang Dongxun’s words, Luo Yuqing and Luo Ziling exchanged knowing looks, both keenly aware of Fang Dongxun’s domineering, no-nonsense approach to business.
