Auntie Mo shook her awake and took Majesty from her.

Grandpa Tai folded the blanket which Alix had been using to cover herself and then Alix stood up.

She stretched and looked around the room.

Only two competitors were left, her and young genius Rui.

As expected, the best two were being saved for last.

“Drink this.” auntie Mo held a transparent bottle of milk up to Alix’s mouth.

Alix chuckled and she took one big sip.

“Eat.” Auntie Mo practically shoved a lemon candy into Alix’s mouth.

Alix then bent and picked up her violin.

Auntie Mo used the opportunity to tap her on the buttocks, giving her two light slaps for encouragement.

“Good luck my pretty baby.”  “You got this.” grandpa Tai added more words of encouragement.

Alix smiled and she slowly walked out of the room and out onto the stage.

Her eyes immediately started moving, searching for the rest of her family and her husband.

Finding them was so easy, because she saw a group of people holding individual personalized light sticks which spelled out, ‘Go Alix.’ All of them had big smiles on their faces, although some held a little apprehension.

If this was not a violin competition where everyone had to act classy and reserved, they would probably be screaming their support for her enthusiastically.

“You can begin.” One of the judges said.

Alix looked at the red chair in the middle and the stand which was holding he sheet music.

She didn’t need that anymore now that someone had already played the whole thing.

She was going to play the same one but the original version.

She put the violin on her shoulder, adjusted it into a position which felt most comfortable to her and then she took a deep breath and closed her eyes.

As soon as she started to play, the three judges frowned.

In the back of the hall, the private detective Lin Billi and Jing Hee often hired to do their dirty work smiled.

He picked up his phone and sent a text to Lin Billi.

[It has gone as expected.] Lin Billi who had long been miserable from being stuck in a hospital smiled genuinely after such a long time.

Joy seeped into her bones and she longed for warm sunlight.

“It’s such a good day.” she flexed her fingers and laughed.

It had been such a long time she last slept peacefully and she suddenly felt sleepy.

Closing her eyes, she pulled up the thick blanket, laid down and drifted off to sleep so quickly.

On stage meanwhile, something started to change as Alix changed her playing too.

The melody switched from the original version she had handed in to the true game version.

The judges and the audience were hypnotized and they were transported to another world.

For ten minutes, while Alix played, nobody moved.

Most of the audience even held their breath in, too afraid to breathe and disturb the magic of the moment.

When she played her last note, they couldn’t believe it was over and they all wanted to listen some more.

Alix didn’t intend to continue of course, her time was up.

She smiled, bowed and walked down, going off to join her family until she would be called at the moment of final judgement.

They had saved her a spot between Caishen and grandpa Tai.

Grandpa Tai was not the owner of the seat, it had been Xiaobo’s spot but he was carried away by Yura who knew that grandpa Tai would not allow the rest of them to rest if he didn’t sit next to his only granddaughter.

The moment Alix reached them and sat down, he started whispering because young genius Rui was reaching the stage to perform and everyone had to be quiet.

“Great job, it was marvelous.”  He pointed to his red eyes and added, “Look, i cried real tears.

A man of steel like me who didn’t cry even when i nearly cut off my fingers at one time has cried while you were playing.”  Alix was turned around by Caishen who also had his own words of praise to lavish on her.

“That was incredible and out of this world.

You were beautiful and breathtaking___, not were, are, you are beautiful and incredibly talented and…..” Grandpa Tai shook her arm, demanding for her attention.

He was not the only one because Xiaobo was also waving one of his hands and trying to get her to look his way.

Competing with Xiaobo was Tai Jiaan and Yuewei who were in competition to see who could congratulate Alix first.

The poor woman was being pulled in so many directions that she didn’t know who to address first since they all had something to say and she wanted to listen to it all.

The whispering however was distracting the people closest to the them that were trying to enjoy the performance going on at that moment.

The two grandmothers in the group had had enough of the madness.

It wasn’t as if they would not interact with Alix later on so why were they acting as if she was about to board a space ship and leave the earth immediately.

Grandma Tai moved her head forward slightly and she looked in the direction of the younger children.

Although she loved the enthusiasm, she truly couldn’t respond to them all at the same time.
