The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system -
Chapter 349 - 349 Death and drama
349: Death and drama 349: Death and drama When she finally got herself together, all she wanted to do was leave the death trap of the hospital in which she had almost been buried.
Blindly, without a care for which direction she was heading as long as it got her out of there the quickest, Alix walked quickly.
She was so absentminded that she walked right past the elevator and just kept going.
Bi Cang put a hand on her shoulder, and startled her.
First she froze for three seconds before turning around to face him with a quizzical eyes.
“Young madam, we have to go to the next floor above this one.” he told her.
“Why?” He looked around and replied slowly, “Something has happened in the family.” Her immediate assumption was that something had happened to her husband.
As if Bi Cang could read her mind, he shook his head.
“It’s not the young master.” A nurse pushing a medical cart walked past them and Bi Cang stopped talking.
Two other bodyguards glared at the poor nurse as if she had done something wrong and the woman quickened her pace.
The elevator doors opened and they all entered it.
Only then, with complete privacy did the conversation resume.
“It’s not Xiaobo, is it?” Alix asked worriedly.
Before he could answer, her phone rung and diverted her attention.
Grandpa Tai was the one calling so she didn’t hold back from answering.
Immediately, she answered the question that she knew he was about to ask.
“Grandpa, i am fine.
How about you?
Are you fine?” “That’s good.” Grandpa Tai sighed in relief.
“Be careful however because we don’t know if there will be any more after shocks.
The news is saying that there have been a few deaths and injuries.
I don’t know what is going on lately.
This is the third earthquake in the country this year alone and there was no prior warning from the earthquake administration.
Dear, maybe it will be better if you go home for now.
The rest of the school day has been cancelled.” “I am not at school grandpa, i was at the hospital visiting someone when it happened.” “A hospital, that’s great news.
At least your safety is assured over there.
I have to call other people and see if they are fine now dear.” The elevator stopped and opened so everyone stepped off.
“I understand grandfather.
Thank you for calling to check up on me.” “Mmm.” “I love you, grandpa, take care of yourself and be careful as well.” Grandpa Tai beamed and his mood turned sunny.
This was the first i love you that Alix had said to him.
“Mmm, grandpa loves you too.” Both of them ended the call and Alix followed Bi Cang on a different VIP floor that had been sealed off entirely.
She recognized most of the bodyguards standing in the hallway.
Some worked for the first elder, others Caishen, others Bo and most for the first elder.
“What is going on?” she whispered to Bi Cang.
“You will find out when you go in young madam.” he answered.
She tilted her head slightly, completely unsure about what was going on but she went inside the VIP room anyway.
It was crowded when she entered and muffled cries were abundant inside.
Because she had blocked out all unnecessary noise, she had not heard the crying while she was outside.
She noticed quickly that there was someone laying on the bed in the middle of the room.
A white sheet was covering the person.
“Zhang Sensen, the second elder.” The system told her.
This explained to Alix why many people from the second branch of the family were there and why Zhang Changpu’s wife was crying the most.
She was the first daughter-in-law of the second elder after all.
His wife was not their however, not that Alix cared to find out why.
“Why is she here?” someone asked.
The question was raised by Zhang Yating’s wife.
“Send her out.” Grandpa Zhang ordered.
One of the bodyguards moved, walking in the direction of Alix but Caishen moved his wheelchair and blocked his wife.
Bo joined him as well, and so did Zhang An.
The sudden shift of energy in the room and the order also created confusion.
Everyone was confused as to what was happening.
Why was Alix’s presence a problem first of all?
She was part of the family as well.
“Not Alix, Yating’s wife, send her out.” Grandpa Zhang elaborated and eliminated the confusion.
But again, not all the confusion was erased because others wondered why Yi Yong, Yating’s wife who was also the granddaughter-in-law of the dead second elder was being sent out.
“Why, i have a right to be here.
This is our second branch business.
I am the…..” “You have been making a fuss since you arrived and you think we don’t know.” Grandpa Zhang said softly.
His voice, though soft was strong and loud enough for everyone to hear.
In a more fierce raised voice, he said, “You told your side of the family that the first branch might have caused this to the second elder to cover up our scandal.” People in the room gasped collectively at the revelation.
That was a very strong and wrong accusation to make.
“You dare to use your mouth and claim that i would kill one of my own brothers!” grandpa Zhang banged his walking cane down on the ground in fury.
He was so swept up by anger that he didn’t even notice the tears which slipped down his from his eyes.
Zhang Mixi from the third branch, the one that everyone in the family called a trouble maker hurried to help grandpa Zhang wipe his tears away.
Grandpa Zhang pushed Mixi’s hand away slowly however because there was more he wanted to say.
“Do you even know how much i love my brothers?
Do you know the things that we three went through in order to build this family into what it is today?
Do you know why the three of us have never plotted against each other?
Does someone like you even understand family or loyalty?” he yelled in anger.
“She is crazy, Yi Yong has lost it.” One of the other daughters-in-law of the second elder muttered.
Everyone knew that Yi Yong had a big mouth and she was always paranoid about her husband cheating so she hated the more attractive women in the family without blood ties to the Zhangs.
She was always talking ill about Alix and some others.
Nobody thought that she talked ill of the elders as well.
“Explain to everyone here how i induced a heart attack and killed my own brother while i was in a meeting.
You seem to think that i have the ability to do it.” Zhang Yating clenched his hands and stared at his wife angrily through the sides of his eyes.
“I…I…I didn’t mean it like that.” Yi Yong stammered nervously.
Grandpa Zhang Guoha, the elder of the third branch was even more enraged to hear these words out of Yi Yong’s mouth.
Such careless and baseless accusations were the beginning of trouble in the family.
It would breed mistrust and cause hatred.
How long would it be before they destroyed themselves from the inside?
Outsiders would get the chance to infiltrate their Zhang family if they were stupid and their roots weakened.
He couldn’t stand looking at the eyesore Yi Yong anymore.
“Out, send her out right now.” he ordered.
