Chapter 885: Is This the One Called Ning Fan?
Chapter 885: Chapter 885: Is This the One Called Ning Fan?
Ning Fan had seen plenty of martial artists who didn’t know their own limitations just because they had a bit of strength.
Facing this situation, only the harsh lesson of society could bring them back to their senses.
After a simple meal, Ning Fan and Su Qingcheng made their way to the underground fighting ring mentioned by Zhang Jia.
The location wasn’t far, just less than three kilometers from the restaurant.
As soon as they approached the entrance, two tall and burly men stopped Ning Fan in his tracks.
"Show your ticket," one of the brawny men said coldly.
Ning Fan and Su Qingcheng exchanged a glance and shook their heads in unison.
"If you don’t have one, get lost!" The other brawny man looked Ning Fan up and down with disdain and sneered, "With your scrawny pretty-boy face, you’d probably have opponents kneeling and begging you not to die after two punches."
Having said that, the two men burst into laughter, their mockery ringing out clearly.
Ning Fan didn’t pay them any attention and continued to walk inside.
"Kid, are you deaf? I told you to get lost!"
The brawny man’s face darkened, and he reached out to shove Ning Fan.
Before his hand could land on Ning Fan’s shoulder, he saw Ning Fan casually grab his wrist and twist it gently downwards, toppling him to the ground.
"Damn! Are you here to cause trouble, kid?"
Seeing this, the other brawny man roared and stepped forward, swinging his fist towards Ning Fan’s face.
Ning Fan didn’t even glance at him, and casually slapped his wrist away followed by a kick to his knee.
Two burly men, standing eight feet tall, were instantly floored, unable to get up for a good while.
Ning Fan simply ignored the two men and walked inside with Su Qingcheng.
Stepping into the ring, a wave of hot air and deafening shouts hit them.
"Congratulations to Young Master Zhang! Another victory!"
"Let’s cheer for him!"
Amidst the roaring applause, Zhang Jia, bare-chested, raised his arms high as if he were a victorious general parading around the stage.
At his feet lay his opponent, head bloody and unconscious from the beating.
Zhang Jia turned his head and saw Ning Fan from afar, his face breaking into a grim smile, "I didn’t expect you to actually have the guts to come!"
He gestured for the host to hand him the microphone and signaled for silence from the crowd.
"Ladies and gentlemen, today I have invited a special opponent for myself! He is the martial artist whose name has been rising in Capital City—Ning Fan!"
Ning Fan?!
Upon hearing this, the surrounding audience was first stunned, then started looking around eagerly.
The name Ning Fan had been discussed too many times recently in Capital City, especially in martial arts circles.
Challenged by Long Yun, everyone was curious about him.
What kind of person could attract the attention of that legendary strongest man in Capital City?
"That guy’s actually participating in underground fights?"
"Interesting, I want to see what skills he’s got!"
"In my opinion, he’s probably just another poser!"
"Heh, what kind of person is Long Yun, and what skills does this kid have to fight Long Yun?"
"Just grandstanding, he’s obviously just trying to climb up using Long Yun’s fame!"
Many in the audience were from the martial artists’ circle, who greatly admired Long Yun, considered the strongest in Capital City.
Now that Ning Fan had arrived, they all scoffed at him.
In fact, many were itching to take the stage and personally teach this poser a lesson, as they saw him.
Listening to the crowd’s discussion, Zhang Jia’s mouth curled into a malicious smile as he spoke loudly into the microphone, "Today, I will decide with him who is stronger on this ring, and let everyone see if he is indeed qualified to accept Long Yun’s challenge!"
"Ning Fan, if you lose, get the hell out of Capital City! And never set foot in Capital City again!"
Facing Zhang Jia’s challenge, Ning Fan remained composed, lightly tapping his foot and leaping onto the stage.
"Is that the Ning Fan?"
"He actually dares to take the stage?"
"Who doesn’t know that Young Master Zhang is the unbeaten champion here!"
"Heh heh, this kid is so done for today!"
Zhang Jia examined Ning Fan from head to toe, his face sporting a cold sneer, "Kid, you’ve got some guts, but soon I’ll make you understand what pain is!"
Ning Fan shook his head and simply beckoned to him, indicating him to attack first.
"Hmph, you’re utterly clueless. Today, I’m going to kill you!"
Zhang Jia stomped his right foot hard, his whole body lunging out as he threw a straight punch at Ning Fan’s face.
Ning Fan simply sidestepped casually, dodging the punch with ease.
Zhang Jia was relentless—his fists swung wildly, attacking Ning Fan with rapid succession.
The wind from his punches howled, almost producing phantom images.
Yet every punch failed to hit Ning Fan, all missing their mark.
To the audience, however, it looked as if Zhang Jia was dominating Ning Fan.
Experts look at the technique while laymen just enjoy the show.
While there were quite a few experts on stage, compared to true top-tier martial artists, these people were mere outsiders.
After all, a martial artist with real skills wouldn’t be participating in so-called underground fights.
They could make money in many other ways.
Therefore, these observers couldn’t really tell who had the upper hand; they just saw Zhang Jia’s continuous attack and assumed he had the advantage.
"Young Master Zhang, good job!"
"Teach that kid a harsh lesson!"
"Don’t give him a chance to fight back! Take him down!"
"As expected of Young Master Zhang! So impressive!"
Encouraged by the crowd’s cheers and adulation, Zhang Jia became even more excited, his attacks growing more aggressive and wide-ranging.
While attacking, he occasionally looked towards the audience to see if Su Qingcheng was mesmerized by his valiant posture.
Do you see that? This guy is just a pretty-boy!
Only a man as strong as me deserves you!
However, as soon as he looked over, he saw Su Qingcheng listlessly fiddling with her phone, which left him rather frustrated.
He thought for a moment and decided he needed to end the fight in a way that would leave a deep impression.
