Hearing Lin Ping’s muttering to himself, Elder Kong and the experts from the Black and White Witch Sect exchanged glances, feeling a shared sense of unease.

Mr. Ning responded with a salute, "Thank you, Hall Master Lin. Once we’ve purchased the tickets, we will surely visit the Lion Hall."

With that, the two parted ways. Lin Haifeng, anxious to return, rushed back to the Lion Hall, only to be shocked by the situation there.

Those who had been most loyal to him were nowhere to be found, replaced by members of the Lion Hall he had never seen before.

Lin Haifeng realized something was amiss, seized a member of the Lion Hall, and after pressing for answers, found out that Lin Ping had betrayed him.

Lin Haifeng was uncontrollably angry but also heartbroken.

He had no children of his own, and after adopting Lin Ping, he had raised him as his own son.

To think, Lin Ping had taken advantage of his absence to seize the position of Hall Master forcibly and was even trying to force his daughter into marriage with him!

This was intolerable!

"Speak, where is my daughter now?"

Lin Haifeng prepared to rescue Lin Yuechan first, then make further plans.

The subordinate, his face full of panic, stammered, "She seems to be locked up in the dungeon at headquarters... Hall Master, I was forced. Please spare my life!"

Seeing the subordinate knocking his head until it was bloody, Lin Haifeng couldn’t bear it and waved his hand impatiently, "Go, do not reveal that I have returned. Find somewhere to hide yourself!"

The subordinate, like he had received a pardon, scrambled away and fled.

Lin Haifeng entered the Lion Hall Headquarters with a heavy heart, avoiding the patrolling subordinates, and stealthily made his way into the basement of the headquarters.

This basement used to be where Lion Hall’s enemies were imprisoned. Later, after Lion Hall united Star Country, this dungeon was abandoned.

Lin Haifeng, following the narrow corridor, found his daughter Lin Yuechan in the last cell.

"My daughter!"

Seeing his own daughter in a disheveled and wretched state, Lin Haifeng couldn’t help but feel a surge of heartache.

Lin Yuechan had already given up hope, but hearing her father’s voice, she thought she was hallucinating.

Lin Yuechan, clutching the bars of the cell, denounced Lin Ping’s crimes.

Lin Haifeng, with deep distress, said, "It’s my fault for failing to see his true nature. I will rescue you right now!"

The construction of the dungeon wasn’t particularly strong, as it had been designed to hold prisoners whose martial arts had been disabled. It couldn’t possibly stop Lin Haifeng.

He broke the chains on the door, and Lin Yuechan flew into his arms, hugging Lin Haifeng tightly, her tears uncontrollable.

"Let’s go, we’re going to settle the score with Lin Ping!"

Lin Haifeng, ablaze with fury, took Lin Yuechan and headed out to find Lin Ping and seek vengeance.

As they turned a corner, a handful of white powder was thrown in their faces.

Lin Haifeng and his daughter were caught off guard and inhaled a large mouthful.

Lin Ping appeared menacingly before the two of them, the same subordinate he had let go trailing behind him.

Lin Haifeng, his face red with anger, bellowed through gritted teeth, "Scoundrel! I spared your life, but you repay kindness with enmity!"

The subordinate argued self-righteously, "Lin Haifeng, the Hall Master now is Lin Ping. You are a fugitive wanted by our Lion Hall. What I’m doing is merely turning from darkness to light!"

"Father! Are you alright?"

Lin Yuechan anxiously helped her father up, her gaze filled with hatred towards Lin Ping.

"Lin Ping, you despicable and shameless wretch! My father was blind to have taken you as his adopted son!"
