Chapter 396: Chapter 396: Moving the Stone Lion - Part 1
The expert brought in by the several disciples from Baji Gate was none other than Yuan Wugang, who had received a lesson from Ning Fan before.
"Just now, weren’t you guys talking about breaking my friend’s and my limbs and crippling our meridians? And also, didn’t you want to harass my girlfriend? Is this really how the people of Baji Gate act?"
Ning Fan said coldly.
"Big Brother Ning, I’m sorry, so sorry, they, just like me, failed to recognize a great man! A person of your stature, please don’t stoop to their level, we’re truly sorry!"
"Aren’t you going to kneel down and apologize to Big Brother Ning right now! You bunch of trash!" Yuan Wugang kept apologizing and forcefully made the few Baji Gate disciples kneel before Ning Fan.
He had personally experienced Ning Fan’s prowess and was really afraid that Ning Fan would really cripple his junior brothers.
If that were to happen, how could he explain it to his sect upon returning?
Originally, the people from Baji Gate were all confined to cultivating within the sect. For this medicinal materials exchange event, Baji Gate let Yuan Wugang, the eldest senior brother, take a few junior brothers out to gain some experience.
It was also a rare opportunity for them to venture out.
However, as soon as they went out, they all got carried away with their own importance. Not only did they bully men and women, but they also became lustful at the sight of beauties.
From Yuan Wugang, the eldest senior brother, to all the other junior brothers, they all behaved similarly.
"Those who need to apologize and make amends aren’t me," Ning Fan stated indifferently.
"Yes, yes," the several Baji Gate disciples nodded repeatedly, then knelt on the ground and moved their knees, apologizing to Xu Yourong.
"We’re sorry, Miss, we were wrong."
"We shouldn’t have been disrespectful to you. Please, Miss, have mercy and forgive us."
Out of compassion, Xu Yourong said, "Just go. In the future, don’t be so cruel to others and don’t harass other women anymore."
"Yes, yes, yes."
The group nodded vigorously like pecking hens, then, led by Yuan Wugang, they ran off into the manor as if escaping.
After the Baji Gate people left, Ge Dishuo once again approached the guards and said triumphantly, "Did you just see my friend’s strength? The Baji Gate disciples even had to kneel down and beg us. Doesn’t that prove our martial arts strength? Now let us in!"
"Sorry, that doesn’t prove any martial prowess. Who knows if you’ve staged this whole thing with the Baji Gate people?"
The guards still shook their heads.
"Fine, we’ll do it according to your rules then."
Ning Fan, not willing to bicker with the guards, walked again toward the giant stone lion on the right side of the gate.
At the gate, people who had come for the medicinal materials exchange, having just witnessed the commotion, were about to disperse when they realized Ning Fan intended to move the huge stone lion.
The crowd stopped again and turned to look at Ning Fan.
Frankly speaking, Baji Gate had been declining for a long time and was considered one of the weaker Martial Sects.
Yuan Wugang and the others were merely young disciples.
Hence, even though Ning Fan had just disciplined them, it didn’t prove how powerful Ning Fan was.
But the two giant stone lions had stood at the entrance of this manor for decades, and no one had ever managed to so much as budge them an inch.
Next, Ning Fan walked up to the giant stone lion on the right, squatted down slightly, channeled Spiritual Power into his hands, and embraced the giant stone lion.
The huge stone lion was five meters tall, and two to three meters wide in length and breadth, making Ning Fan appear insignificant beside it.
"Heh, today I’ve truly seen what ’biting off more than one can chew’ and ’a mayfly shaking a tree’ really means!"
"Tsk, tsk, is this kid here for laughs? This stone lion is so huge, it doesn’t even have a place for him to leverage from, and it weighs ten tons. How could he possibly move it?"
"He’s just showing off. This kid, just like those Baji Gate people from before, is no good."
The onlookers and a few guards jeered.
But amid their jeers, Ning Fan shouted in a low voice, "Lift."
Then, to the astonished eyes of the audience, Ning Fan actually started lifting the giant stone lion off the ground with both hands!
"What did you just say about moving it how far to prove martial prowess?"
Having lifted the huge stone lion, Ning Fan turned his head, his expression unchanged, and asked the guards.
"Half, half, half an inch..." The guards responded instinctively.
Their idea of moving referred actually to shifting it half an inch.
But Ning Fan had now raised the huge stone lion a whole meter off the ground — the disparity was evident.
"Half an inch is too little, I might as well find a new place for this lion," said Ning Fan, as Spiritual Power flowed through his hands.
His body, tempered by thunder and lightning, erupted with a fearsome power again. He lifted the ten-ton stone lion aloft and hoisted it onto his shoulder, then step by step, he moved from the right side of the gate to the left.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
With each step Ning Fan took, he left a deep footprint on the bluestone pavement at the entrance.
After a dozen or so steps, Ning Fan, carrying the huge stone lion, reached the left side of the gate. He then tossed the ten-ton stone lion down with both hands.
Boom—
The huge stone lion landed heavily on the ground, causing a tremor in the earth.
"Now, does this prove martial prowess? Can we go in now?" Ning Fan dusted off the dust from his hands and asked indifferently.
