Chapter 394: Chapter 394 Treasure Mountain Manor_1
Thump thump thump thump...
Yuan Wugang kowtowed without hesitation.
"I didn’t do it on purpose, big brother Ning, Mr. Ning, I really know I was wrong. If I ever dare to look at your girlfriend again, you can blind my eyes. Please let me go, I beg you..."
As he spoke, he continued to plead.
That instant had given him a true taste of the breath of death.
What was begging compared to life and death? What was kneeling? What were kowtows?
"It seems the so-called Martial Sects are just so-so, ’Great Disciple of the Baji Gate’?"
Ning Fan shook his head in disdain, "Get lost."
"Yes, yes, thank you, Mr. Ning, for sparing my life."
Yuan Wugang, feeling like he had been granted amnesty, scrambled up and ran off, soon disappearing from sight.
"Ning Fan, I’ve caused you trouble again by making another enemy. I’m sorry." Xu Yourong looked somewhat sorrowful as she spoke.
"Miss Xu, is it the fault of a person if they are bitten by a mad dog?" Ning Fan comforted her.
"But you already have so many enemies, both the Divine Tune Sect and Martial Alliance are not weak. Now, if you make enemies with these Martial Sects too, I’m really worried about you..." Xu Yourong shook her head.
"Miss Xu, only the weak fear their enemies! The strong are feared by their enemies! Miss Xu, I will be strong, please believe in me!" Ning Fan declared firmly.
For a moment, Xu Yourong stared at Ning Fan’s determined and confident face, slightly dazed.
From the first time she had met Ning Fan until now, he had changed dramatically.
He truly lived up to being the man she had set her sights on at first glance!
"Ge Dishuo, you did well this time. Rest assured, as long as you don’t betray me, I will repay you tenfold."
Ning Fan praised Ge Dishuo, and then the three continued toward the destination of the medicinal material exchange.
The path grew more remote with each step, and with Xu Yourong’s frail health, they walked slowly. It took them an entire hour before they finally reached their destination.
This was a manor built in the wilderness.
The manor was large and had an archaic appearance, seeming to be over a hundred years old, with an imposing grand gate.
The words "Treasure Mountain Manor" were inscribed on the gate.
Currently, quite a few people were entering through the gate.
But these people didn’t dress like modern folks; most wore tight-fitting short robes and other typical martial artist attires.
As Ning Fan and his companions were about to enter through the grand gate, they were stopped by a few guards.
"May I ask which sect you are from?" the head guard inquired.
"Sect?" Ning Fan was momentarily stunned.
"This medicinal material exchange is only open to Martial Sects. If you are not from a Martial Sect, please leave," the guard said expressionlessly.
Ning Fan glanced at Ge Dishuo.
Embarrassment showed on Ge Dishuo’s face.
He had only received news that there was a medicinal material exchange here; he didn’t know that it was exclusive to those from Martial Sects.
But now that they were here, were they supposed to just leave?
"If we don’t have a sect, is there any way we can get in?" Ning Fan asked the guard, frowning.
He had come to find three kinds of herbs required for concocting the Foundation Establishment Pill; how could he give up so easily?
"If you can prove your martial prowess, that would be acceptable," said the guard.
"Prove martial prowess? How do we prove that?" Ning Fan inquired.
"See the two stone lions on either side of the gate? If you can move either of these stone lions by half an inch, that would be considered proof of your strength," the guard said mockingly.
Two colossal stone lions stood on both sides of the gate.
Each stone lion was five meters tall, weighing ten tons, appearing as if two Divine Beasts had descended!
Who could possibly move them?
People near the gate watched with interest, looking over in this direction as if expecting a show.
Ning Fan nodded and walked towards one of the stone lions.
"Mr. Ning, don’t bother moving it, I have a way."
Thinking Ning Fan couldn’t possibly shift the stone lion, Ge Dishuo interrupted him and approached the guard, saying, "How do you know we’re not from a sect? We are from Baji Gate! Our senior brother is named Yuan Wugang; go check if you don’t believe it!"
"From the Baji Gate?"
The guard furrowed his brow and took out a roster. He flipped through it and indeed saw the information registered for Baji Gate members.
The Great Disciple of the Baji Gate was indeed named Yuan Wugang.
"So the three of you are from Baji Gate. Please enter," the guard said, putting away the roster, about to let them pass.
"Hold on! Who says they’re from Baji Gate? I don’t recognize them," a hardy-looking man suddenly stepped forward from among the onlookers, as Ge Dishuo was smugly turning to Ning Fan to take credit.
Several young men followed behind the hardy-looking man.
"You claim to be from Baji Gate? What a coincidence, we all are from Baji Gate, and we haven’t seen you before," the men said, surrounding Ge Dishuo with sneers.
"I... um... I’m a new disciple..." Ge Dishuo, intending to sneak in by posing as a member of Baji Gate, never expected to run into actual disciples so quickly and stumbled over his words.
"Impersonating someone from our Baji Gate? Come on, cripple him!"
The hardy man instantly saw through the deception and shouted, leading the other Baji Gate Disciples to start swinging their fists, raining blows upon Ge Dishuo.
Thump thump thump...
Being merely a petty scammer adept in minor Talisman techniques, Ge Dishuo was no match for these Baji Gate disciples and was promptly knocked to the ground.
"You old fraudster, for daring to impersonate one from Baji Gate, we’ll break your limbs and cripple your meridians, tear your mouth! Let’s see if you’ll dare to pretend to be one of us again!"
The man jeered, and together with the others, they stomped on Ge Dishuo, intending to maim him.
"I’m wrong, I’m wrong, please don’t maim me!"
"Mr. Ning, save me!" Ge Dishuo cried out pitifully from beneath their feet.
Just when Ning Fan was about to move the stone lion, he turned around and saw Ge Dishuo being beaten so miserably, about to have his limbs broken and meridians destroyed.
"Are you from the Baji Gate not a bit too ruthless in your actions?"
Ning Fan stepped in front of Ge Dishuo and frowned at the group of Baji Gate disciples.
