Chapter 242: Chapter 242 Su Qingcheng’s Good Intentions_1
On the other side, Su Qingcheng drove away from the Xu Family villa with Ning Fan in tow.
"Otherwise, why don’t you just not buy a house and stay in my villa for a few days? Anyway, it’s empty," Su Qingcheng suddenly said in the car.
"Thank you for your kindness, Miss Su, but I will buy a set myself," Ning Fan refused, shaking his head.
"Actually, you don’t need to be in such a rush to buy a house right now. You don’t earn money easily, so you should save it instead. What if your business doesn’t do well in a little while and you need funds?" Su Qingcheng continued to persuade.
"I still want to buy a house myself, preferably a standalone villa in the mountains," Ning Fan shook his head again, but he also didn’t know how to explain to Su Qingcheng why he wanted to buy a house. It’s not like he could tell her about the Spirit Gathering Array, right?
The Spirit Gathering Array was one of his core secrets, only known to Lin Xiaoling and vaguely by Baldy Qiang.
Perhaps feeling that Ning Fan’s reply was a bit blunt, Su Qingcheng’s pretty eyebrows furrowed slightly, and she became a bit angry, then with a tone laced with mockery, she said, "Ning Fan, you wouldn’t be so eager to buy a house just because you want to save face, would you? It’s not wrong to want to save face, but you also have to consider the actual circumstances. You may have earned some money now, but the money you’ve earned with difficulty should be used as investment capital for your business growth, not for putting on airs!"
"Miss Su, I think you might have misunderstood. My buying a house isn’t because I want to save face, and..."
Ning Fan paused and then said, "And buying a house or a villa now won’t affect the funding of my business in any way."
"Haha, don’t brag or talk big in front of me. The provincial city is not like River City. Do you know how much a villa costs in the provincial city? Even a slightly decent one costs tens of millions, and if it’s a larger standalone villa, the price can go up to a hundred million or even several hundred million!" Su Qingcheng scoffed.
"I know, I’ve looked up the approximate prices online," Ning Fan replied calmly.
"Haha, fine then, consider me nosy for reminding you. Go ahead and spend all the little money you made from your business on buying a villa," Su Qingcheng said with a tone of regretful disappointment.
Ning Fan’s eyebrows creased slightly as he said, "Miss Su, you’re not really aware of how much money my business can make. Buying a villa in the provincial city really isn’t a big deal for me."
"Yes, it’s not a big deal. If you have money, go buy a villa yourself, I won’t accompany you, the newly rich, in your extravagant spending," she retorted angrily.
The more Su Qingcheng talked, the angrier she got, and she slammed on the brakes.
Screech!
The car stopped by the side of the road.
"Get out," Su Qingcheng said coldly.
"Thank you for the ride to the provincial city."
Ning Fan nodded, said thank you, then opened the door and stepped out of the car.
Boom!
As soon as Ning Fan turned to close the car door, Su Qingcheng floored the gas pedal and the car roared off.
"Really a case of ’a dog that bites Lu Dongbin and doesn’t recognize a kind heart!’ A typical nouveau riche mentality!"
Inside the car, Su Qingcheng fumed.
Outside, Ning Fan shook his head.
He had never expected Su Qingcheng to understand him, nor did he need her to.
As long as Xu Yourong understood him, that was enough.
Ning Fan took out his phone to check the map and discovered that there was a sales office not far across the road, so he decided to cross the street to take a look.
The green light turned on, and as Ning Fan was crossing the road, a black Mercedes suddenly sped up towards him from a distance.
"Hm?"
Ning Fan’s expression darkened. Could someone be targeting him for a sneak attack again?
He was about to gather Spiritual Power to strike at the Mercedes, but just before it was about to hit him, the car swerved sharply, its front turning aside, and with a loud crash, it hit the roadside railing.
The car came to a stop, its front emitting billowing black smoke.
Then, a young woman helping an older man got out of the car.
The young woman was tall and curvy with a beautiful face.
The older man had white hair and a faint furrow between his brows with a somewhat pale face.
"I’m sorry, my car’s brakes failed for some reason," the young woman said apologetically to Ning Fan.
It turned out that as she was approaching the intersection and saw Ning Fan crossing the street, she tried to brake to slow down, but when she pressed the brakes, the car didn’t slow down but instead suddenly sped up. In desperation, the young woman had no choice but to steer sharply toward the roadside railing to finally bring the car to a halt.
"It’s fine."
Ning Fan nodded. As long as it wasn’t an attack aimed at him, it was okay.
Ning Fan was about to turn and leave when his gaze swept over the older man and he hesitated, then said, "Miss, is this elder your relative? It seems like there’s something wrong with him."
"What’s wrong?" the young woman asked, frowning.
Ning Fan took a closer look at the old man and then suddenly reached out, grabbing the man’s wrist.
"What are you doing?" the young woman’s expression changed, intending to stop him.
Ning Fan waved his other hand at her to reassure her as he kept his hold on the elder’s wrist.
Half a minute later, Ning Fan retracted his hand and said gravely, "This elderly gentleman has some issues with his heart. He must be treated immediately or he won’t live more than five minutes. Quickly lay him flat on the ground; I’ll help treat him."
"You bastard! How dare you curse my grandfather to die?"
The young woman’s face instantly changed, and she bellowed in anger.
"I am not cursing your grandfather. I just feel that there might be something wrong with his heart that may be related to the car accident. And the accident has something to do with me. That’s why I intend to treat him. But since you don’t appreciate it, then forget it," Ning Fan said with a cold laugh, releasing the old man’s wrist and turning to walk away.
