The Wrong Hero Has Been Summoned -
Chapter 32: Hunt 3
Chapter 32: Hunt 3
The demons jumped him, holding him tight, "you are so arrogant for a mere human." The leader said, holding him on the chin, "you are just a lost puppy who has no idea how vast the world is."
Luther just stared at him without saying a word and then smiled, "Holding me is such a plus, like a moth to a flame."
"What-" One demon tried to say before he felt it, his demonic mana was being absorbed, all of them who were grabbing them were being drained. "Kugh!!!" He screamed out, trying to pull away but Luther was holding him specifically tight.
"Yours tastes delicious-" Before he could finish, the leader kicked him away into a tree, saving his underling. ’That one is strong, really strong...dammit, their mana is not working together with my body, guess I have no choice but to let it go.’ He released the mana and he got back to his feet.
There was n0 more talking, they were all on edge now, except for the demon girl, she watched him happily as always. The demons attack, rushing at him at incredible speed. "its finally time for you to shine, ready?" He said, looking at his sword. ’I never thought with a sword before but I am sure its just like using a bat.’
He took his stance, enhanced his legs and dashed. ’This is a heroic item, well, corrupted sword but I am curious how it would affect a demon.’
The demons were surprised by his speed and confidence.
The first demon tried to dodge, but he was too quick. His sword sliced through the demon’s arm, causing it to howl in pain. Black smoke rose from the wound where the sword had touched.
"What is that weapon?" the leader shouted, his eyes wide with concern.
He didn’t answer.
He spun around and faced the next demon coming at him. This one was bigger, with sharp claws and teeth. He ducked under its attack and thrust his sword into its chest. The demon screamed as the sword seemed to burn it from the inside.
Two more demons attacked from both sides. He jumped up, letting them crash into each other. While they were confused, he slashed across both their backs. They fell to the ground, writhing in pain.
Lilith, the demon girl, watched with excitement rather than fear. Her eyes glowed brighter as she observed his fighting style.
"He is so good," she said, her voice filled with admiration.
Malachi’s face darkened with anger. "Enough playing around!" he roared. The remaining demons backed away as Malachi stepped forward. "I’ll handle this myself."
The air around him began to darken, and Luther could feel the immense power radiating from him. This was the true strength of a demon.
"You’re right about one thing," he said, gripping his sword tighter. "Enough playing around." He inhaled and threw his sword toward the leader. He easily dodged but he was not the target. Luther’s fingers began to move, controlling the sword as it went from demon to demon, killing them.
It returned back to his hand, "now its just the two of you left. should we get serious now." The ground beneath his feet began to tremble as he released the mane he has been hiding, unlike his yellow mana, this one was dark and made the air feel heavy.
’I can’t use this mana for long yet, about 3 minutes and I am out.’
Malachi’s eyes widened as he felt his dark mana. "What are you?" he asked, taking a step back. "No human should have this kind of power."
He smiled, enjoying the fear in the demon’s eyes. "I’m just a ’mere human,’ remember?" He moved forward, his sword glowing with the dark energy flowing through it.
Lilith wasn’t scared though. She clapped her hands with excitement. "This is even better than I hoped!" she said, her eyes sparkling.
Malachi shot her an angry look. "Be quiet!" He turned back to Luther, his hands now glowing with red flames. "You may be stronger than I thought, but you’re still no match for me."
The demon leader attacked first, sending a wave of fire toward him. He dodged easily, moving faster than before.
"Too slow," he taunted, appearing behind Malachi. He swung his sword, but the demon blocked it with his arm, which was now covered in some kind of hard shell.
"You think you’re the only one with tricks?" Malachi growled, pushing him back.
"I guess not."
They clashed again, moving so fast that the trees around them shook from the force. Luther knew he had to end this quickly. His three minutes were ticking away.
He channeled more dark mana into his sword, making it pulse with energy. With each swing, the air crackled around him.
The leader was strong, blocking most of his attacks, but he could see he was wearing him down. The demon’s movements were getting slower, his breathing heavier.
"What’s wrong? Getting tired?" He asked, not showing his own fatigue.
Malachi snarled and unleashed a more powerful attack, his entire body now covered in flames. The heat was intense, burning the grass beneath their feet.
He felt the strain of maintaining this power starting to kick in, but he pushed through it. ’Just a little longer,’ he thought.
The demon’s fire demon purple, surprising even Luther as he jumped back. ’That power...its dangerous.’ He swung his sword loosely, getting ready for what was coming.
He felt sweat dripping down his back - not from fear, but from the strain of holding his dark mana for so long.
"You didn’t think I’d show all my cards right away, did you?" Malachi’s voice had changed, deeper and more hollow, like it was coming from somewhere else.
He gripped his sword tighter. "Purple flames. That’s not something I have seen before."
Malachi smiled, his teeth now sharp and gleaming in the purple light. "The mark of royal blood. Something you wouldn’t understand, human."
’Royal blood?’ He thought. ’This just keeps getting better.’ His time was running out - maybe one minute left before he’d be drained.
In the background, Lilith was practically bouncing with excitement.
He didn’t wait for Malachi to attack.
He charged forward, his sword trailing dark energy as he swung at the demon’s head. Malachi blocked with his arm, the purple flames intensifying where the blade made contact.
"Your sword is interesting," he said, pushing back. "A human weapon that harms demons. Almost like a heroic divine weapon. So its true then, you are connected to a goddess."
Luther didn’t answer. Instead, he spun and attacked again, this time aiming lower. His blade nicked Malachi’s side, drawing a hiss from the demon. Black smoke mixed with purple flames where the wound appeared.
"Enough questions," he said, breathing hard. "Let’s finish this."
"As you wish."
The demon moved with blinding speed, he also moved the same and they clashed, causing a shockwave that push back the near by trees. He wanted to keep fighting but his body was barely holding on.
"sorry about this." He spat saliva into the demon’s eyes and while it was confused, he cut off its head in one swift motion. "don’t hate me too much, well, you are dead anyways." suddenly mana from the corpse began his sword, turning it pure black.
’what now, how you won’t explode on me.’ He thought as he shifted his attention to the demon girl. "now then, its just you-" She instantly appeared in front of him and kissed him passionately.
"I choose you."
