Chapter 568: Chapter 430 Sea Girl: Then I can only play toilet play with her.

No matter how many times he looked at the blood moon in the sky, Liu Zheng always felt a chill run down his spine.

Within Yate’s blood moon hid an upper-tier being like the Moon Demon, so what kind of horrors were concealed within the blood moon over the Metropolis?

Fortunately, regardless of what unnamable horrors existed beyond human comprehension, the Supreme Councilman and his City Hall protected the residents of the Metropolis with the coldest rationality and the strictest rules.

Like an old-school priest wielding a whip, accompanied by his beautiful and fragile nuns.

"Stop staring at the moon unless you fancy being thrown into the mental asylum."

Doctor Nile warned.

"The Metropolis still has mental asylums?"

Liu Zheng asked in surprise.

Judging by the mental state of Metropolis residents, their insanity should pretty much translate to zero Rationality, right?

"There is, but it’s more like a containment facility than a true asylum."

Doctor Nile said.

"Contain what?"

"The crazies, of course. Some went mad worshipping gods, some went mad eating, some went mad researching... The reasons are endless, and the symptoms are as colorful as a blooming garden."

Doctor Nile shrugged.

"Whoa, doctor, your way with words is pretty eloquent."

Liu Zheng remarked with admiration.

"I happen to be a priest of God Ra, a scholar, a doctor, a collector of ancient texts, a recorder of history, a disseminator of Exotic Realm cultures..."

"Stop, stop, my ears can’t hold this many people."

Liu Zheng interrupted Doctor Nile.

"Hmph, such an ill-mannered short-lived species."

Doctor Nile shot him a glare.

"Says you, as if you were never one yourself. Stay on topic—go on about the asylum."

Liu Zheng returned the glare.

"I’m in a good mood today, or else in the old days, I’d have tossed you straight into a stone coffin to feed the Scarabs."

Doctor Nile threatened.

"Tch, not an ounce of creativity."

"As long as it works. What else do you want to know?"

Doctor Nile asked.

"Judging by City Hall’s operational style, they probably don’t implement very humane policies toward those lunatics, right?"

Cemeteries, sewers, garbage processing plants, and other secret facilities he didn’t know about always seemed like fitting destinations for these lunatics.

"Naturally, there’s no need for humane policies. City Hall doesn’t even have to get involved—their families, bosses, or whoever will take care of them on their own."

"But no matter where you are, there will always be those protective elites who’d rather have the lunatics confined and guarded like prisoners than humanely euthanize them."

"Mental asylums are set up specifically for those elites."

Doctor Nile explained.

"So where is this mental asylum located?"

"Theoretically within a hospital, but in practice, it must be in a very remote place."

Doctor Nile replied.

"How do you know so much about it, doctor?"

Liu Zheng asked suspiciously.

"I was once invited to treat a patient in there."

Doctor Nile said flatly.

"Wow, impressive. Was it someone from the asylum who invited you?"

Liu Zheng exclaimed with admiration.

"Of course not. It was the family. I wouldn’t dare go if it were the asylum staff."

Doctor Nile rolled his eyes.

"What kind of family has that much pull to get an outside doctor in to treat someone?"

After all, it was technically part of the hospital, so the security must be pretty tight, right?

"It’s an institution specially tailored for the elites. A little privilege on top of privilege is perfectly normal."

Doctor Nile wore a look that said "Why are you even surprised?"

"You must’ve made a fortune from that visit, huh?"

Liu Zheng asked curiously.

"Not much money, actually. But I got a clinic out of it."

Doctor Nile shook his head.

"So that’s how you got your clinic."

"What did you think? How else could a former ’ingredient’ like me possibly get a license?"

Doctor Nile sneered.

"A patient the asylum itself couldn’t cure—yet you managed to?"

"God Ra be praised, I happened to encounter a case that matched the treatment."

Doctor Nile made a prayerful gesture.

"What condition was it?"

Liu Zheng asked.

"Fear of Darkness."

"That needs treatment? With that much money, couldn’t they just keep a shadowless lamp on all day?"

Liu Zheng asked, puzzled.

A shadowless lamp is that big lamp above the operating table, with many bulbs clustered together, sort of like a brick of coal.

"A shadowless lamp isn’t truly shadowless. It only diminishes the core shadow, making it less noticeable."

If you carefully observe the shadow under the lamp, you’ll find that its center is particularly dark, while the edges are more faded.

The particularly dark central part is the core shadow, and the more grayish edges are the penumbra.

"Besides, even if there were truly no shadows, that patient wouldn’t have gotten better."

If it were that simple, the mental asylum would’ve pocketed the money themselves.

"Then how did you cure them?"

Liu Zheng asked directly.

Given their relationship, there was no need for tact—just say what could be said and keep quiet otherwise.

"I implanted the light of my master, God Ra, directly into their eyes."

Doctor Nile said.

If the eyes house the sun, all they see is light.

"You really spared no effort on this one, huh."

The last time he was merely burned a little, and without "Blood and Flesh Rebirth," he’d have nearly croaked.

Planting Ra’s light into such sensitive eyes without harming the patient must have been staggeringly difficult.

"All thanks to the mercy of my master."

Although unable to intervene directly to rescue his followers, Ra was still willing to lend a hand when possible.

After all, if he "Ra"ed too hard and had no believers left in the Metropolis, that would be too ironic.

"So the fees at that mental asylum must be sky-high, right?"
