The world has turned into Hell's Game, why should I stay human?
Chapter 528 - 410 Bombarding the City Hall

Chapter 528: Chapter 410 Bombarding the City Hall

The Four Great Ghost Kings have been working together for hundreds of years, and their bond is closer than that of siblings.

So, the moment they heard Golden Bear Child’s cry, Xiong Tongzi and Tiger Bear Child didn’t hesitate to activate their defenses.

Their fur instantly grew wildly, wrapping themselves up just like Golden Bear Child.

But the Little Demons they had brought along weren’t so lucky.

The moment after Golden Bear Child shouted, a whistling shell tore through the mystical forest, dragging Magic Lightning behind it.

To be fair, the "Hound’s" artillery wasn’t great. Even with the Driver manually correcting it, the shell still landed far off target.

Not only did it fail to directly hit the three Ghost Kings, but it also missed the center of the demon horde by a considerable distance.

However, the Driver had his reasons for choosing this shell as the opener.

"BOOM!"

The impact of the shell hitting the ground overturned nearby demons before it automatically detonated.

Countless needle-like bolts of electricity shot out from the explosion, turning the surrounding demons into pincushions.

The demons struck by the bolts trembled all over as they collapsed, convulsing on the ground like they were in the throes of an epileptic seizure.

"Man, these witchcraft shells are so damn unreliable."

After observing the effects of the bombardment through his scope, the Driver shook his head.

Those electric bolts weren’t natural lightning—they were Magic Lightning created through Black Witchcraft.

Under normal circumstances, the explosion of this shell should have generated a massive chain of lightning, frying everything in its radius to a crisp.

But the Driver’s skills in witchcraft weren’t nearly enough to maintain such shells, so the circuits that powered the magic had gradually degraded, drastically reducing their power and turning them into what he called "Lightning Needles."

In a few more years, if left unused, they’d probably be downgraded to nothing more than static sparks.

Fortunately, while the Driver couldn’t repair them, he had accurately predicted the effects they’d have in combat.

If anything, this was precisely the outcome he was aiming for.

"Quick, load the top row of shells into the cannon!"

The Driver barked out the order.

"Got it. Doctor, lend me a hand!"

Liu Zheng called out, grabbing a shell and stuffing it into the loading chamber.

The Driver didn’t even bother aiming before yanking the lever.

"Bang!"

A shell shot out of the barrel.

"Keep it coming!"

The Driver shouted.

Doctor Nile, who was already prepared, immediately shoved another shell into the chamber upon hearing the command.

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

...

With Liu Zheng and Doctor Nile working in perfect sync, shell after shell was fired from the barrel, causing the tank to shake violently from the recoil.

In less than a minute, the "Hound" had already fired over a dozen shells, with the barrel starting to glow faintly red from the heat.

But instead of rushing toward their target one after the other, the shells were mysteriously drawn together around the second shell, clustering together like a swarm of bees.

"That one’s called the Trailing Guidance Shell, though I prefer to call it the Wolf King. The shells orbiting it are its Wolf Pack."

The Driver smugly explained his masterpiece to Liu Zheng.

"Go, my wolves. Tear your prey to shreds."

He raised one hand, clenched his fist, and slammed it down dramatically.

"Has he always been this over-the-top?"

Doctor Nile whispered softly.

"Nah, it’s just a thing he does when he’s shelling targets,"

Liu Zheng whispered back.

"Got it. Acute combat-induced psychosis. I suggest taking him to a hospital later for a check-up."

Doctor Nile suggested.

"Can’t you just treat him at your clinic?"

"Absolutely not. What if he scares Sasha?"

Doctor Nile refused without a second thought.

Completely immersed in the thrill of the bombardment, the Driver ignored their idle chit-chat, focusing intently on the airborne shells as they arched upward and began to fall.

"BOOM!"

A colossal explosion echoed across the entire plain. Trees thicker than a man and harder than stones were uprooted by the blast wave, splintering into countless shards.

The blinding fireball lit up half the sky, while the rising dust formed a small mushroom cloud that hung in the air.

"This is what you call ’not enough firepower’?"

Liu Zheng gawked in disbelief.

If this was "not enough firepower," he couldn’t even imagine what "enough firepower" would look like.

Hell, in real life, not even a destroyer could pull off this level of carnage.

"Hah, what a sheltered civilian."

The Driver shot him a disdainful glance.

"This kind of small-scale destruction is nothing. If you ever saw the Gustav Giant Cannon in action, you’d understand what real firepower is."

"Forget this little forest—under the ’God’s Hammer,’ even a mountain would crumble like a sandcastle."

The Driver spoke with a tone of pure pride.

"Wow, that’s amazing. So, uh, how much does it cost to rent the Gustav Giant Cannon?"

Liu Zheng asked, suddenly intrigued.

Any real man loved cannons. Big was beautiful, more was better—billions of guns meant billions of glory.

With firepower that badass, it could probably blow the Peacock to kingdom come.

"Have you robbed the Metropolitan Central Bank recently?"

The Driver glanced sideways at him.

"Uh, no."

"Then how dare you even think about it?"

The Driver sneered.

"C’mon, I was hoping you’d cut me a deal!"

Liu Zheng flashed a sycophantic grin.

"Even if I gave you a discount, you couldn’t afford a single part of the Gustav Giant Cannon."

"Besides, it’s in City Hall’s hands right now. If you want to borrow it, you’ll have to talk to City Hall."

The Driver replied.

"Ah, forget it. I think the tank is plenty fine."

He admitted defeat.

After all, what kind of lunatic, already flagged as an explosives enthusiast by City Hall, would go after something like the Gustav Giant Cannon?
