The world has turned into Hell's Game, why should I stay human?
Chapter 134 Human Flesh Spinning and Silk Stockings

Chapter 134: Chapter 134 Human Flesh Spinning and Silk Stockings

Disorderly knocking sounds filled the corridor.

If they were accompanied by cries like "Give me back my life," it would have been a classic horror movie plot.

However, such monotonous sounds could sometimes be even more terrifying than human voices.

"Quite the lively bunch, aren’t we?"

Liu Zheng raised an eyebrow, feeling surrounded by sounds from all directions.

"Never thought I, a mere delivery guy, could receive such a warm welcome. I’m truly touched."

He wiped his tentacle across his face in a mock gesture of wiping away tears.

"Since everyone’s so welcoming, I can’t ignore such enthusiasm."

He put down the tentacle and said loudly.

"Next, I’ll randomly select one lucky tenant to enjoy the pleasure of playing with the Tendaros Hound. It’s free~"

Liu Zheng said, holding up a chew toy with a smile.

No sooner had his voice faded than the corridor became dead silent.

"What’s the matter? Why the silence?"

"It’s this quiet, I see you don’t welcome me, do you?"

Liu Zheng said with a sneer.

No one responded, not even the nightingale’s door.

"I’m someone who enjoys a lively atmosphere. If you’re not going to give me that, then I’ll just have to liven things up myself."

"What do you say, if I summon a bunch of Tendaros Hounds, will the tenants in this apartment be enough for them to play with?"

He raised the Golden Finger again, curiosity on his face.

"Pop!"

"Pop! Pop!"

"Pop! Pop! Pop!"

The knocking sounds immediately restarted, even more fervent than before.

"That’s more like it, isn’t it great when it’s buzzing? Such a dreary apartment needs to be livened up to have some life."

Liu Zheng said with satisfaction.

Then he casually approached a door and looked at the number above.

1299.

He tried the doorknob, but it wouldn’t budge.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

So he simply knocked on the door.

"Open up, let me take a look inside."

Liu Zheng shouted.

"My husband isn’t home, it’s inconvenient."

The knocking from that home paused, and a voice as thin as a mosquito’s replied.

"No husband at home, huh? That’s less fun. Fine then, you keep knocking."

He waved his hand and moved on to another door.

1211.

"Open the door, open the door."

Liu Zheng continued knocking.

"My wife isn’t home either, come back next time."

A timid man’s voice replied.

"Isn’t that even better? Your voice has such charm, sir."

He said with a lecherous grin.

"Ah?"

"Behave, let me come in and see. Otherwise, I’ll have to release the hounds. Anything that happens then will be all your fault."

Liu Zheng threatened.

"No, please, spare me, I’m not good-looking at all."

The man pleaded desperately.

"I don’t care what you think, it’s what I think that matters."

His tone was domineering.

"Then come on in."

The man’s tone suddenly turned sinister.

Click, the lock inside the door slid open.

And the door cracked open just a sliver, emitting a dark red light.

A flat shadow loomed behind the door, barely visible.

"Come on in, do come in."

The man said in a voice laced with allure.

At this moment, the other rooms also stopped their knocking.

Alarm bells were going off in Liu Zheng’s mind.

The turn of events was beyond his expectations.

His earlier smooth intimidation seemed to have lost its effect suddenly.

Behind this door, there surely lurked unspeakable horrors.

But the scarier it was, the less he intended to back down.

A man will either soar to the heavens or never die at all.

If these strange beings wanted to play with him, then he would happily oblige.

"Alright then, I’m coming in. I’ve got a lot of stuff, not sure if you can handle it."

Liu Zheng boldly kicked the door open.

The dark red light surged momentarily, and a person-shaped cardboard cutout hovered in the air, stretching out its arms toward him as if to embrace him.

"So welcoming, good, good, then let’s have a proper hug."

Suppressing the incessant alarm of danger with sheer will, Liu Zheng moved to embrace the cardboard person.

He wasn’t lying, his four tentacles each held something.

They were the chew toy, the Golden Finger, a Chaos Club membership card, and a delivery slip that had somehow ended up in his pocket.

The cardboard person trembled slightly, a breeze blew it away, keeping it out of Liu Zheng’s embrace.

Liu Zheng could feel it was fearful.

While he didn’t know what it was afraid of, fear was something he could work with.

"Don’t be so shy, come on, let’s hug it out."

He lunged at the cardboard person again.

Another gust of wind blew and the cardboard person dodged another lunge from him.

"Alright, alright, if you don’t want a hug, how about a handshake?"

Liu Zheng stretched out all four tentacles.

To the cardboard person, the four thick, long tentacles seemed like venomous snakes.

It didn’t even need the wind this time; it just started running around the room.

"What, are we playing duck duck goose here?"

Liu Zheng, growing impatient after a while of chasing, raised his tentacles and shouted.

"Stop damn running, or I’ll string up a line, and nobody in this building will get to live."

The cardboard stopped running, its eerie flat eyes staring at him, silent.

"Take me to 1219."

Liu Zheng commanded.

The cardboard person trembled again but made no further move.

It seemed a bit unwilling to give in.

"Then wait to be mailed."

He suddenly pounced, embraced the cardboard person, and his tentacle curled to tear off the shipping label.

The flesh that came into contact with the cardboard person was sucked away like metal to a magnet; Liu Zheng’s bones kept revealing themselves, only to be replenished by flesh from other parts of his body. The white cardboard, meanwhile, was dyed red and even gained a bit of a three-dimensional aspect.

However, it was the cardboard person, who had absorbed his flesh, that desperately tried to break free.

It kicked Liu Zheng fiercely, separating the two.

The sticking flesh stretched and tore off, hanging in the air like ripped rags, dripping blood down.

"Wow, this would be great for frying up a burger patty,"

Liu Zheng said, looking at his shredded flesh with a bit of a craving.

The cardboard person seemed to shake off, like after urinating, stopping its lower half abruptly.

The clinging flesh was all shaken off and returned to Liu Zheng’s body.

The flesh that had been absorbed eroded quickly in the wind, and the cardboard returned to its white color.

The cardboard person peeled off a strip of paper from its body, beneath which swelled wiggling blood vessels.

It blew a breath, and the paper strip flew towards Liu Zheng, who caught it in his hand.

Then, the cardboard person made a welcoming gesture toward Liu Zheng, pointing at the door.

The meaning was clear.

Big guy, please leave now!

Liu Zheng, taking the hint, walked toward the door, and as he stepped out, he turned back to say to the cardboard person.

"Your place is nice, I’ll come again next time."

"Bang!"

The door slammed shut, nearly squashing his nose.

"Tsk, how impolite."

Liu Zheng curled his lip and looked at the paper strip.

Just as he pondered what to do with it, the paper strip took off by itself, flying forward.

"Looks like it’s some sort of compass."

Liu Zheng followed the paper strip as he walked.

After a few minutes, the strip suddenly changed direction and landed in front of a doorway to the right.

The room number was 1219.

He extended a tentacle and rang the doorbell.

They were all acquaintances, so there was no need for overly rough greetings.

Quickly, the door opened.

A gust of wind blew into Liu Zheng’s face, making him squint his eyes. In his limited view, a massively shattered panoramic window stood before him.

And Nightingale was standing at the window ledge, arms raised high, looking ready to tip over.

As if a single leaf landing on her shoulder could tip the delicate balance and turn that graceful figure into a mess of mush.

"Did you practice such speed just to strike this pose?"

Liu Zheng asked with a blank expression.

"Pfft!"

Nightingale couldn’t help laughing out loud, her upper body leaning forward by a dozen degrees or so.

The sight made him itch to go over and give her a nudge.

"You humans are always so interesting, but even among humans, you’re an especially interesting type,"

she turned to say.

Explosion marks covered Nightingale’s face, and even her blonde hair on the forehead was burnt and curly.

If her backside made you think of committing a crime, her front side made you want to back away.

Fearing the aftermath of the explosion might reach you.

Luckily, her clothes in the front were also in a mess due to the explosion, salvaging a bit of her attractiveness.

"However, I just want to be invisible, the kind that sneaks into the neighborhood to deliver takeout without the security noticing me at all,"

Liu Zheng said dismissively.

"Then you shouldn’t be a delivery guy, you should be a burglar."

"Don’t talk nonsense; I’m a law-abiding citizen, the kind that strongly supports law enforcement officers,"

he stated emphatically.

"Yes, yes, Mr. Law-Abiding Citizen, would you like to sit down for a cup of tea?"

Nightingale asked with a smile.

"I want Maojian tea,"

Liu Zheng glanced at his phone.

"Is black tea okay?"

"That will do, add milk, three teaspoons of sugar,"

he said.

"Sorry, only tea bags."

"Then why did you ask?"

Liu Zheng rolled his eyes.

"It’s about the sense of ceremony; you humans always care about that,"

Nightingale explained as she brought the table to the edge of the panoramic window.

"You’re not planning to flip me and the table out of here during negotiations, are you?"

Liu Zheng asked warily, sitting on the floor.

"Don’t worry, I bought this table for Sea Girl; if anything gets thrown out, it’ll just be you,"

Nightingale reassured him.

"Well, that’s a relief,"

he said, replying carelessly while surveying Sea Girl’s room.

The decor and furnishings in Sea Girl’s room were very much in a Japanese style, resembling that of a wealthy high school girl in a Japanese anime.

From this, it was clear that Sea Girl’s mental age wasn’t very old.

No wonder she fell for a domineering, wealthy "sister" type like Nightingale.

"The unwashed clothes are in the bottom storage box; want to take a sniff? It’s also good for a quick thrill,"

"Rest assured, I won’t tell Sea Girl."

"What I highly recommend is her black stockings; they smell absolutely different from any you’ve smelled before, very effective,"

Nightingale said with a knowing look.

They’re just stockings; how different can they be?

No, wait, he hadn’t smelled stockings at all, right?

That’s too perverse. Surely no one actually does that kind of thing, right?

No way, right?

"Or do you want to smell mine?"

Nightingale suddenly realized.

"That works too, I’ll take them off for you now. But I was just in an explosion, so the flavor might be a bit complex, be mindful when using,"

she said, starting to lift her skirt.

"Enough with the nonsense,"

Liu Zheng watched her act with a cold expression.

"Cut to the chase, are you out of money or what?"
