The Witcher – Uchiha Madara! -
Chapter 214 – Mokuton and News From the North.
[Chapter Size: 2100 Words.]
Third Person POV
Kaedwen.
...
...
The only sound in the environment was the sound of cutlery as Madara, Ciri, and Geralt had lunch at a large table, made entirely of wood, with chairs and plates as well, built by Madara through mokuton.
The only metallic thing there were the utensils they were already using for lunch.
They were silent as they ate.
Geralt was quite restless. Never in his mind had he imagined being, while they camped, in a place like that — and not just a house, but a castle, larger than a mansion, made entirely of wood and created in an instant after everything trembled while the place was being built.
He still didn't understand how Madara had done it, but it was there and they were in a large hall separated from the entire external environment.
Ciri, also still a bit affected by the events of yesterday, ate uneasily, torn between her fears about the powers she had and the curiosity about Madara's powers. She had to admit it was incredible to be in that place.
She wanted to know how Madara had created it. Creating things from the ground wasn't unusual — she had seen Triss create flowers and Yennefer restore a tree the week before they left Kaer Morhen.
So seeing Madara pull wood from the ground in a massive amount, with it taking shape... that was beyond normal standards.
Even Geralt was skeptical that Madara had built it from nothing.
"Madara... what is this, you didn't say anything after mentioning you increased your powers..." Ciri couldn't help but comment to Madara, her curiosity winning over her sadness and caution about her powers.
Madara looked at her calmly.
"It's a new element I developed after the fight with your uncontrolled self. Now I have four types of elements I can control: fire, wind, the purple electricity element called storm, and the wood element that you're seeing," Madara said.
He had also gained a huge amount of chakra with this power; his chakra practically doubled in strength, and now he could even develop healing if he trained for it.
His last two elements were Kekkei Genkai, and only Hashirama could use the wood element better than Madara — not to mention that the storm element was something, as far as he knew, that Madara had developed in his own time, while Kakashi also developed his purple electricity in the future.
He was finally at half of his full strength, at his peak, and already had all the elements unlocked. Now, the next powers he could release were all at catastrophe level.
"Wood element?" Ciri looked at him in surprise as she glanced around at the wood.
Madara hadn't shown the war to Ciri with his sharingan, so she was very surprised, even though she had heard he created a forest — just like Geralt had.
"I heard you managed to create an entire forest out of nowhere in the middle of the battlefield... I could never imagine something like that... Do you know how bizarre that is? Could you even alter an entire desert terrain?" Geralt commented.
"Yes. But for now, I only know the basic wood jutsu, though I can develop the others in the future. Even create an entire forest like I did in the war..." Madara replied.
He didn't have full knowledge of the Great Forest jutsu, but he still remembered executing it at full power during the war.
Through those memories, he could quickly develop it again, along with the Wood Dragon he had also made.
"I honestly don't know what could surprise me anymore," Geralt said. "I'm afraid of the day you summon that giant again. I hope I never have to see it..."
He seemed quite cautious, looking at Madara like an enigma, not knowing how or where he got his powers from — it seemed like his strength just appeared out of nowhere.
Hard to believe he developed, as he said, that element after the fight with Ciri. But he didn't know about the system.
Madara shrugged.
"If I have to use the Susanoo again, you can be sure it'll be because I won't have another choice," he said, thinking about his enemies.
"It's amazing. Can you build anything with wood?" Ciri murmured as she ate, looking at Madara.
"Anything I can imagine, I can," Madara replied.
She nodded slowly.
"This castle... what is it? I've never seen this kind of architecture before," she noted, analyzing it.
"It's really exotic. These curved rooftops... there's nothing like it on the continent as far as I know."
"It's Eastern. I went overboard this time because I wanted to see my first wood jutsu used in a grand way. Next time, we'll just make a house," he said, with no one ever having seen Eastern architecture before, as they returned to eating in silence.
In the end, they decided to stay one more full day there to rest.
Madara was sitting in Ciri's room again, while the place had a large opening to the sky, with her opening up to him about what had happened the night before.
"I wanted to prove my strength... I thought I would control it... but in the end, my body was just used and I was acting without control..." she murmured.
"I understand... You're not ready for this yet," he said beside her.
"Triss always said I was a source... someone who doesn't control the powers... she was right, even though those visions ended... I still don't know how to control my strength," Ciri murmured.
"You might not be ready for this now, but that doesn't mean you won't be in the future, Ciri. You've always been confident in your strength and powers, don't destroy that now," he said.
"..."
Ciri stayed silent despite looking at him with a raised eyebrow and then turned her gaze to the sky.
"I guess you're right... do you believe I can control this...?" she asked, and Madara nodded.
"Of course, it won't be easy, but at the same time it won't be impossible. You have the potential to be great, Ciri... Greater than anyone else, besides me of course," he said with a smile at the end.
"Always arrogant," she murmured, and he drew a small laugh from her lips with his usual words.
"You wanted to know how I got the sword, didn't you? So... it's weird to explain this, but I looked for it and saw it in the future. And I stole it," she murmured, making Madara raise an eyebrow.
"I see... anyway. Let's sleep, we leave tomorrow," he said, heading to the bed he had to summon, since he couldn't make a mattress out of wood.
The next day, they all got up quickly.
Geralt was still very injured and limping — despite the potions helping him a lot, it would still take time for him to heal if Yennefer didn't help first.
Madara made hand seals while the more than 50-meter tall castle began to undo itself, part by part, returning to the earth and disappearing completely, leaving only the crushed ground from the construction in its place.
This would certainly attract curious looks, but only from people passing through there — which was unlikely, given it was in the middle of a closed forest.
Anyway, as soon as everything had disappeared, Geralt turned back to Madara.
"Now we're without horses..." he murmured.
"They were all killed." Madara said, with Ciri immediately lowering her head in guilt. She had grown fond of the animal, even if it had only been a month — knowing they died in her explosion devastated her with guilt.
"Ciri... it was an accident." Geralt tried to calm the girl as she nodded, though she still looked very guilty.
"..."
Madara said nothing, after all, nothing would help her now. He had already said what needed to be said — the horses were a terrible accident and were unfortunately wiped out by the explosion. They likely didn't even feel pain, since the entire forest vanished in milliseconds.
"I know you won't want me to carry you through the forest..." Madara said, knowing Geralt hated being carried and would much rather face the forest alone than endure that.
"Yes." He simply replied.
"I'll take Ciri with me. We'll buy more horses and continue the journey to the mountains." Madara informed him, and Geralt nodded.
He took Ciri and leapt into the trees while Geralt stayed with some equipment for the next two days in the forest.
Madara would have to send some clones to help him get out, which would be much faster.
Yennefer was in Aretuza, preparing to leave in the coming days.
She still had some time before heading to the city where she had arranged to meet all three of them, but she wanted to stop by some of her hideouts while keeping an ear out for what was happening in Kaedwen, after the sorcerers left Kaer Morhen reporting everything that had happened — while they believed and affirmed that the School of the Wolf didn't seem very involved with the events in the western part of the kingdom.
She had just finished tea with other sorceresses who were tutors at the magic academy for girls when she ran into Isabella, holding some books in her hands.
Over the past month, even though she had been accepted with the large sponsorship Yennefer had provided in gold — with Tissaia certainly surprised to learn that Yennefer was sponsoring a young girl with magical issues — Isabella had still needed to learn how to read and write in the past few months.
Otherwise, she would never have started her magical studies.
That's why she ran between the library, her tutors' classrooms, and her room, constantly carrying books and lessons.
Madara had been right that the girl was hardworking despite her lack of talent.
Honestly, Yennefer wouldn't have acted like Madara and simply wouldn't have cared for someone so weak in magic.
After all, even though she had been a hunchback in her childhood, she had great talent and aptitude for magic — it was no surprise that Tissaia had come to her, buying her from her own parents.
Isabella stopped as soon as she saw her and greeted her.
"Miss Yennefer," she said.
"Hello, Isabella." Yennefer was direct.
"I'm going to my room now, excuse me."
With no further words, Isabella passed her, and Yennefer nodded.
Leaving the girl behind, she turned forward and saw firm steps coming her way as Triss walked toward her.
Seeing her focused expression with a grimace, she knew Triss didn't want to speak with Isabella continuing down the hallway, but with Yennefer herself.
"Yennefer! Something happened in Kaedwen." Triss said, as Yennefer raised an eyebrow.
"What is it?" She showed some concern in her tone.
"There was an outbreak, a magical explosion in the north of the kingdom that lit up the entire realm."
She spoke in a serious and equally worried tone, with Yennefer's eyes widening.
"Wait... that wasn't the route... Tell me what happened!" Yennefer demanded, and Triss nodded.
The north of the kingdom was the route that Madara, Ciri, and Geralt were taking.
"No one knows what happened. They informed Tissaia the day before yesterday, but she didn't share it with anyone, while the sorceresses and other forces went to investigate what happened.
They said a green explosion covered the entire horizon," Triss explained before pausing.
"An entire forest disappeared, Yennefer... Everything was consumed by a chaotic energy, and it was the energy of chaos in a form no one had ever seen before," Triss murmured.
"Green energy, chaotic, and clearly magic...?" Yennefer said cautiously.
"I believe it was her... I don't know how, but I'm sure it was her," Triss murmured.
"To destroy an entire forest... Can she really be that powerful? Are they okay?!" Yennefer thought, while desperately wanting to know what led to this happening. There were so many questions.
"I'm just as surprised, but it can only have been her..." Triss said.
Even though she was stunned that Ciri might have destroyed an entire forest with her power — it was something no sorceress or mage could do, not even Tissaia.
"Anyway, Tissaia is calling for you. She wants to ask some questions to also understand what's been happening in Kaedwen after so many strange things in the past few months," Triss said again.
"I see... let's go talk to her," Yennefer said as her mind raced, already desperate to know if Madara, Ciri, and Geralt were truly safe.
