In the tallest Belltower within Yodo City, Earl Yodo and Jalen proceeded to the sixth floor of the Belltower, seeking to invite the Aries Witch to their banquet.

However, they were stopped at the entrance to the sixth floor by two servant witches of the Great Witch, both students of the Aries Witch and highly skilled in the Transforming Spell. Earl Yodo was startled and looked down in surprise.

So this Frankish sorceress had been probing into his thoughts all along.

It must be that Her Majesty Ivita knew about this and thus left her magic within him, which now shielded him from the witch’s sight.

But how should he negotiate his way out now?

Jalen coughed once and interjected, "Miss Victor, Earl Yodo is my subordinate, under my management. That doesn’t seem to concern you."

"You have come to this city primarily to protect me, and secondly to command the western front of the battle."

The Aries Witch’s glance flickered. She no longer looked at Earl Yodo but turned to Jalen. "So it was His Majesty’s doing. It seems you still have some tricks up your sleeve."

"The Emperor tasked me to come here for his own reasons, which you need not speculate. However, with me here, that little wizard Ivita and his petty tricks certainly won’t hurt you anymore."

"You’ve come to invite me to a banquet, I’ve heard."

The Aries Witch nodded slightly and arrogantly said, "For His Majesty’s sake, I will attend your Alsasians’ banquet."

"Earl Yodo, I hope you will not do anything foolish at the banquet."

Earl Yodo could not help but tremble slightly; after all, the woman before him was a Witch Marquis. Fortunately, she seemed to have misunderstood something, thinking that his ability to block her sensing was Jalen’s doing.

She had come to see him as part of Jalen’s camp.

Jalen leaned in and whispered in his ear, "Trust me, all of this is only temporary. If I play my cards right, the Franks and Ivita will all be defeated by me. The more arrogant they are now, the more dejected they will be in the future."
