The witch thought I am a Demon God
Chapter 897 - 465: Destroying the Three Virtues of Dark Soul

Chapter 897: Chapter 465: Destroying the Three Virtues of Dark Soul

Ivita entered the royal tomb and found that there were many figures bustling about inside Alsace’s tomb—upon closer inspection, they were the tomb’s guards.

Due to the previous commotion caused by Kristin, many additional personnel had been added to the tomb of King Alsace.

Just as any small group might reflect a small part of the traits of their larger environment,

Ivita saw people bringing their families into the entrance of Alsace’s tomb, violating military rules. But as long as they bribed the officers inside the tomb with some money, the officers would turn a blind eye.

What was supposed to be a solemn and significant royal tomb, had now been filled with the children of outsiders.

Such a severe mistake, yet no one reported it.

Ivita commented to the four Honored Emperor Gods, "Corruption destroys institutional systems. When a system is sufficiently corrupt, no matter what orders are issued, those orders become ineffective."

"The power of the kings of Alsace to control the grassroots is now very weak."

The God Charlemagne nodded and said, "You’re right. We can glimpse certain things through the tomb. During the previous king’s era, the tomb was orderly. Not a single soldier would slack off, not one would sleep at night instead of performing their duties in the cemetery."

"But now, the defense of the tomb has become a joke. Henry VII, even though he ordered a strengthening of the patrols around the tomb, when it comes to midnight, nearly all the tomb’s guards are asleep. Haha."

Ivita nodded his head, his understanding of the concepts related to the Black Death deepening. Eradicating corruption was always the first and foremost task for a ruler.

With corruption deepening, gradually one finds themselves unable to accomplish anything.

Ivita and the four Honored Emperor Gods entered the deepest part of the royal tomb, which was the hidden tomb of the God Charlemagne; though he became a god after death, he had once died as a mortal, and thus still had a tomb.

Inside the tomb, an eternal lamp burned, and the majestic clay army guarded this underground palace tomb.

Ivita sat on the throne in the underground palace tomb, the aspect belonging to the God Charlemagne descended temporarily upon him.

The God Charlemagne said, "You can focus on creating the Soul of Darkness here, no matter what happens, we will block it for you."

"That scale of the Cosmic Giant Serpent, I have placed it here."

Ivita hesitated for a moment, then nodded his head. "I am very grateful to you, Great-Grandfather, and to all of you great-uncles."

The four gods nodded to him, and the next moment, they vanished from the palace of the tomb.

Then Ivita took out nine alchemical potions. First, he consumed the potions of the material group in sequence, and when his body and shadow both shone, emitting a dazzling light like the stars, he proceeded to eat the three potions of the spirit group in sequence. The light from his shadow on the ground merged with the light from his body.

Ivita felt as though he had traveled through a colossal tunnel—that tunnel stretched from the material to the ether, onto the Starlight Body, then to the spirit, and finally dove deep into the Spirit World.

But he didn’t stop there. Ivita delved into the deepest part of his own spiritual world and saw thousands of colors changing rapidly. He discovered that the depths of his spirit were not truly himself, that his thoughts, his consciousness, his subconsciousness were not really himself.

’Now is the beginning of creating the Soul of Darkness. I must first enter the fundamental realm of nothingness, and in the midst of my true being, forge a new world.’ Ivita’s consciousness plunged into the Existential Abyss of being at an even deeper level.

This was actually quite dangerous.

Because during the process of self-exploration, one might fall into their own Existential Abyss and never be able to leave—that was quite normal.

Eventually, Ivita arrived at a consciousness world where there was nothing, a world of utter emptiness where all things and all kinds disappeared into nothingness and only a thoroughly void, profoundly hollow great chaos hole remained.

Ivita looked into that vast chaos hole and various voices continuously appeared in his ears.

’I warned you not to try to uncover secrets. Everyone spends their life searching for something, but to get to the bottom of it, is not a good habit, and often leads to entrapment.’

’Pursuing infinite matters with a finite life is too foolish.’

’I also warned you to hold back your curiosity. Stop, stop; contentment is the foundation of a person’s happiness. Contentment is the most noble virtue, even gods praise someone who is content and easily satisfied. You need to learn to be content; you have now fallen into the abyss of desire, in this dispute of self within existence, you will exhaust all your life and time.’

’I similarly warned you not to test the limits of your imagination. Indulging your imagination results in a failure to mature. A mature person will cut off their imagination early, accepting that they’ve grown up, learning to be just like the people around them, so others won’t ostracize you. But you just can’t learn to restrain your imagination. Mortal Ivita, you will forever be just a mortal.’

Ivita looked up, only to discover that above the vast emptiness of nothingness, three different colored suns had emerged.

’Last chance. Here we show you the three virtues of a normal human’s healthy life. With these three virtues, you will live longer and more peacefully than others, you’ll secure a stable life and loving family, you will have joy and delight in being stationary.’
