Chapter 90: Chapter 83: Behavior Patterns of the Three Major Civilizations, Color Changes of the Thousand-Year Fire_2
Humanity’s hatred for him ran too deep, so any effort or sacrifice made by the Ambros’s humans to eradicate this Ancient Soul was justified.
Eventually, a toad operating on its last droplet of energy willingly let a witch from the north petrify it, transforming it into a mountain.
Underneath the dome’s mural, Ivita lowered her head and murmured, "The original color of the Thousand-Year Fire was bloodred."
"Which is the color of the flame of the Thousand-Year Fire I saw here."
"So, what’s the deal with the normal-colored Thousand-Year Fire I saw in the princess’s secret chamber as I retraced my journey along the magic path?"
"Wasn’t that the Thousand-Year Fire?"
"No, it definitely was; otherwise, the princess wouldn’t have been able to use the Thousand-Year Fire to meet me here."
Ivita was aware that he might have stumbled upon a critical point.
He always had a knack for identifying important points and extracting information from them.
The alteration in the color of the Thousand-Year Fire definitely concealed a significant secret.
The old witch said: "Look over there, your highness, there’s more content on the mural above the dome!"
Ivita looked up at the mural and noticed the two prophetess conversing depicted in the later part of the mural on the dome.
One of the prophetesses furrowed her brows. "Five hundred years ago, the planet civilization failed in its attempt to consolidate a second universal law."
"We actually lost in our confrontation with the Civilization of Fire."
"However, a war between civilizations is different from ordinary inter-state wars."
"The Great Emperor representing our civilization was born. He claimed to be a god, not a man; he conquered every law of the Civilization of Fire."
The other prophetess scoffed. "That might not necessarily be a good thing. Now that he holds the laws of two civilizations, does he qualify as the Great Emperor of the Civilization of Fire or our planetary civilization?"
"He’s even learning the language of the Civilization of Fire and has adopted the royal title ’King of Thousands Kings’ from the Civilization of Fire!"
The temple has long given out the necessary warning."
"Soon, our civilization will enter an era where gods are no longer gods, and humans are no longer humans. The boundary between gods and humans will become blurred—doom is upon us! That’s why we fled here. We have integrated into the local society to assist the Ambros people in protecting their Thousand-Year Fire. At our advice, they have built fire sacrifices squares like this all over the place."
"To record history."
"But have you seen the other country south of Ambros?"
"I noticed that country loves to collect laws. I think it has the potential to become the dominant power in the coming era, creating a new universal law. However, it differs from the planetary civilization because while the planetary civilization spreads the seeds of laws everywhere, it hardly reclaims them by force, but rather let them surrender willingly. It’s as if our civilization established colonies in Ambros and allowed the colonies to become independent, possessing their own laws, and even developing political systems different from ours. Suffice to say, we perceive the tribal monarch system as barbaric."
"Even oligarchy and tyranny are far superior to the tribal monarch system!"
"The planetary civilization sows seeds but hardly reaps."
"But that warlike country, they are ceaselessly conquering and incessantly gathering laws, just like our Great Emperor."
"They’re like a massive smelting furnace, encapsulating and absorbing all things that do not belong to them, transforming them into their own. I believe that in no time, even the Thousand-Year Fire of Ambros will inevitably find its place in their Pantheon. However, this is normal, considering that our world is on the verge of a vast destruction that cannot be avoided or stopped."
"But that’s irrelevant to us. We came here to keep the Druids from meddling with the Thousand-Year Fire and fulfilling their pathetic and doomed goals."
The mural on the dome abruptly ended.
However, the information left behind was massive enough.
Ivita and the old witch stayed in place, sinking into a lengthy contemplation.
Meanwhile, Lolita showed no interest in the historical truths and laws at all. She was just an ordinary person making a living under the laws.
Instead, she was wondering why the dome mural, which used to glow, had stopped illuminating.
When she asked the old witch and Ivita about it, Ivita didn’t respond, for he was caught up in a storm of shock.
Firstly, he figured out the origin of the Thousand-Year Fire.
The Thousand-Year Fire stemmed from the Law Seed of the planetary civilization’s universal law and was ignited by the ashes of a sequoia tree and the sacrifice and unity between humans and witches.
Those human leaders in Ambros chosen by the Thousand-Year Fire were inherently incapable of learning magic and possessing power.
So, this must be why the Ambros Grand Viscount mysteriously died so easily.
Because if that were the case, then the Grand Viscount may have just been a commoner.
"The Duke of the Forest once told me that the Sons of Forest were thoroughly defeated and expelled by the humans of Ambros 2,300 years ago, whereas the Thousand-Year Fire was ignited 500 years prior to that, meaning the scenes we’re looking at took place 2,800 years ago."
Ivita mused over his words. "The planetary civilization probably refers to the Ancient World."
"When I was at Baron Moro’s territory signing the ceasefire agreement, Pan God told me that a teenage emperor emerged in the late stage of the Ancient World. He capitalized on the resources of the Ancient World to conquer all the laws of the Civilization of Fire, causing an unprecedented swelling in the number of laws in the Ancient World. He blurred the demarcation of the godman, creating a world where gods were humans, and humans were gods."
