Chapter 87: Chapter 81: The Bubble Magic of the Child of Water, Black Friday’s Misfortune Coins, Prophecy Dagger_3
The wizard’s apprentice brimmed with delight, his eyes filled with an unabridged satisfaction of vengeance served and the prospect of shared doom as he looked at Ivita, the Old Witch and Lolita.
So what if you kill me.
We all die together.
He flicked the Misfortune Coin into mid-air with a snap, where it hung indefinitely flipping end over end.
However, the atmosphere suddenly acquired a twisted note.
The Old Witch, who was initially afraid, stood dumbfounded when the young witch spoke about a cursing fate.
The Hearthstone Grand Witch broke into a hearty laugh. "I thought you were lashing out in desperation, but you are just a dying mantis trying to stop a chariot."
Ivita rubbed her forehead, here was another trying to curse his own fate.
Sigh.
Not like she went out of her way to cause this.
The wizard apprentice looked skywards, his eyes filled with rage. The Misfortune Coin was relentlessly twirling and spinning in mid-air but it never paused nor ushered any lightning-curse.
No, nor did any ’Black Friday’ occurrences took place.
Instead, the Misfortune Coin was branded with cracks.
The wizard’s apprentice was furious. What is happening here!
Then, black smoke poured out from the Misfortune Coin. The smoke coalesced into a skull which peered down at the apprentice, its eyes filled with distaste. "Who dares to use the Misfortune Coin to curse the Six Spirits?"
"Are you truly mad?"
"I suggest hitting your head with a mallet a few times, might just fix your brain!!!! The captain of Black Friday is furious, he will drag you onto the ship and reduce you to the lowest-tier laborer for the next five centuries."
"Due to your reckless cursing, our ship’s canvas was hit by lightning, the stern of my ship is on fire, we...I’m going to take you back to our ship right now..."
The skull floated closer to the wizard apprentice, before being driven back by the flames. Only then did it realise that this was not an ordinary fire.
"Damn!"
"The Fire of Law!"
"Damn it, our ship is now covered in the flame of the Thousand-Year Fire. You are truly mad. I knew I shouldn’t have given out Misfortune Coins to the people of the continent."
"Loss, big loss, goodbye. No, may we never meet again. This ship will never visit your damn continent ever again!!"
’Crack~’
The coin shattered, and the skull disappeared into the room.
With that, the last traces of spirituality in the wizard’s apprentice was burnt away.
He writhed on the ground with his eyes filled with disbelief, pondering on why cursing two witches and a mortal meant cursing six spirits?
Soon, he was charred to a crisp, and the Thousand-Year Fire likewise vanished.
When the Old Witch saw the Thousand-Year Fire was gone, her heart skipped a beat. She hurriedly picked up the bronze dagger and awkwardly laughed, "What just happened? It seems like the Thousand-Year Fire has disappeared, my lord."
"That doomed wizard, he must have had some abnormal bloodline that disrupted the Thousand-Year Fire. It’s all...fate, and has nothing to do with me."
"Hahaha...."
Ivita took the dagger and shook her head, bearing no grudge against the Old Witch.
It was an unavoidable circumstance.
What has happened, has happened. Furthermore, she was unable to utilise that resource, thus pursuing this matter further would be of no significance.
Ivita gazed at the dome fresco overhead and said, "I had expected that the Thousand-Year Fire would disappear."
"It has to do with the formation of the Thousand-Year Fire. There can only be one Thousand-Year Fire under any circumstances; other Thousand-Year Fires would immediately disintegrate once they break the seal."
"Oh right, there is a family tasked with protecting the Thousand-Year Fire, the Fire Protection Family."
