Chapter 82: Chapter 80: I want to create universal laws! (6000 main Chapters) _2

"When you retraced my magical path and beheld my experiences, why can’t I use the same method to see your current situation?"

"Time is relative."

"To you, I am a figure from the past, unreal, illusory. But from my perspective, you are merely a visitor from the future. Aren’t you equally unreal and illusory to me?"

"Because you are too close to the flame of this Thousand-Year Fire and I happen to have a flame from another Thousand-Year Fire in front of me. Plus, when I saw you a year ago, I saw a Fire Bird in your eyes. I forcefully reversed that image, decoded the magic knowledge it contained, and learned Fire Bird Magic."

Princess Alsace said, "In the process, I too have been retracing your path."

Ivita was a bit stunned.

This seemed like a time glitch bug!

He never expected to converse with someone who had been dead for years.

In this magical world, time could no longer be seen as the ultimate reference.

Given such a glitch, which world would then be considered the primary one?

Ivan asked, "So, are you real now?"

Princess Alsace gave a slight smile, like the last touch of spring, only shown to those who posed no threat.

Then, her face turned cold again, icy as a rose on a glacier: "That depends on how you define ’real’."

"If you regard me as a real person from your past, then I am real."

"If you believe I am not real, then I am not real."

"So whatever I’m saying now is born of your imagination, so you are simply delusional..."

"Young man, your choice determines whether I truly exist or not. But it does not matter to me. Your reality is meaningless from my standpoint, as you and I will likely only meet this once."

Princess Alsace explained, "Because the probability that the two of us would separately stand before different Thousand-Year Fires is too low."

"There is a connection between Thousand-Year Fires that even defies the structure of the time-space continuum. This is something I only realized after meeting you."

"This might be because all Thousand-Year Fires are essentially one. The Thousand-Year Fire is a Law, its structure transcends time and space."

"With every extraordinary circumstance discovered, there’s a chance for magic to make a significant breakthrough. Hence, I should be thanking you, young man."

"In return, I can tell you who can understand these murals."

Ivita was taken aback, feeling out of his depth. He suspected that these matters were ones even witches of the Old Witch’s caliber did not comprehend.

He glanced at the Hearthstone Grand Witch, who still had her Sword in Fire raised, staring defiantly at the Thousand-Year Fire’s flames embedded in the dome mural.

Ivita keenly perceived a crucial point, "Princess, based on what you’ve said, it sounds like the Thousand-Year Fire before me will certainly go out. Otherwise, following your logic, couldn’t I, by simply standing before this Thousand-Year Fire every day, recreate this current situation purely by chance?"

It felt something like rolling dice.

Princess Alsace nodded, "Yes, you’re quite perceptive. I didn’t intend to tell you."

"Securing the flame of the Thousand-Year Fire is not too challenging. The difficulty lies in preserving it."

"In order to steal the Thousand-Year Fire, it cost me a great deal of resources and manpower. I even traded a special magical resource, with a Lower Burgundian using a plain. The Lower Burgundians are a water tribe, their Water Magic is powerful, and at its core, the Thousand-Year Fire is the ultimate Flame Magic."

"But even after such a tremendous sacrifice, I still failed."

"The Thousand-Year Fire you saw earlier was obtained with one of the Laws of Alsace in a trade with the Contraction Monster."

Ivita’s heart skipped a beat, this was something else!

What an unpatriotic traitor!

Suddenly, he felt a surge of discontent towards the Princess.

The Princess glanced at him without expression, clearly perceiving Ivita’s change in demeanor. If it were anyone else, the Princess might be able to ignore their scorn.

However, Ivita was one of her descendants, prompting the Princess to explain slightly. "That Law was merely a subsidiary one under the jurisdiction of the Kingdom of Alsace."

"The Contraction Monster, despite being a malevolent creature, always offers fair trades. It wouldn’t require too valuable an offering to exchange for a flame of the Thousand-Year Fire."

"Moreover, I kidnapped the sole six-year-old heir of the Lower Burgundians half a year ago and gave him to the Contraction Monster."

"The Contraction Monster then returned my Law."

"Hence, both the plain and the Law have been recovered."

Princess Alsace coldly added, "Yet, I was still expelled from the capital of Alsace and forever banned from returning."

"Foolish Alsasians!"

Ivita’s opinion of the Princess slightly improved.

From what he heard, she was merely a rule-breaking witch, not a traitor.

Ivan said, "I’ve heard many people say that the Lower Burgundians are water beings, and their Water Magic can suppress the flame of the Thousand-Year Fire?"
