Chapter 802: Chapter 422 New Intervening Forces

While everyone outside the castle rushed to rescue the burning carriage, Ivita, transformed into a peregrine falcon, flew into the castle and followed the voices of the negotiations between the envoy and Maximilian, entering the hall.

She landed on a candle chandelier hanging from the hall’s ceiling.

Ivita looked down at the envoy who was still trying to persuade Maximilian. The envoy said to Maximilian, "The Grand Viscount has already led his troops and surrounded Ambros City five times."

"Even though we have been repelled by Ambros City each time, their resistance weakens with every attempt. Recently, we have even gained the support of the Chaos Abyss, and the insectoid army will enter our country from the west through Baron Augustus’s territory. The outcome is already clear. Any man who does not seize this last chance to choose sides is a fool, Lord Maximilian."

Perched on the candleholder, the peregrine falcon that was Ivita had an icy look in her eyes.

So they will be entering from the western border?

That is where her initial territory was located.

It was foolish to extremes for the noble faction of Ambros to invite those insects from the Chaos Abyss, especially through her territory.

But this was something she simply could not ignore.

Maximilian spoke angrily, "Helping you would be complicity in tyranny. Get out."

Fury flashed in the envoy’s eyes. "How can you be so ungrateful... Perhaps you should reconsider..."

Once Ivita confirmed Maximilian’s stance, she suddenly descended from the top of the castle.

"He doesn’t need to consider anymore."

The envoy turned pale with shock, pulled out the accessory at his waist, and said with feigned bravado, "Who? What do you want to do? You..."

With every step Ivita took, her voice echoed like the most terrifying sound in the world. The envoy’s skin aged rapidly, developing wrinkles, crow’s feet, and even age spots.

This was the Aging Curse Ivita had learned from the ancient library.

However, the prerequisite for this spell to work was an insurmountable gap between the spiritual and soul levels of the two sides; otherwise, it would backfire, and the magic could even rebound on the caster.

"Ah~" The envoy looked on in horror as he aged instantly from middle age to old age and was about to die of old age.

He fell to the ground, looking resentfully at Ivita and said in an aged voice, "Why are you attacking me?"

Ivita turned back and gave him a cold glance. "You don’t need to know."

The next moment, the envoy was dead.

Maximilian was initially on guard, but when he recognized Ivita, he became excited. "It’s you, Mr. Ivita. I never thought we’d meet here. After we parted last time, I never heard from you again."

"I was worried that perhaps we would never meet again in this lifetime. I heard you might have gone overseas."

Ivita nodded. "Yes."

"I took a trip overseas and then returned. It’s nothing unusual."

Maximilian invited Ivita to sit down. "Indeed, young people should travel more. Please, sit down. What are you planning to do now that you’re back? This is not a safe place. If it were not for my wife’s reluctance to leave, I would have moved out long ago."

Ivita glanced at the several servants in the hall.

She noticed that these servants were not pure humans, as their spirits contained different essences than humans, indicating they were likely Black Bear Men.

Ivita said to Maximilian, "I’d rather not sit. There’s a fire outside, after all; we should go and rescue people now."

Maximilian blinked in surprise, then smiled, "Did you do that? Well, that’s good. I’ve always found them bothersome."

When the two exited the castle, the fire had already spread throughout Mr. Lorencio’s entire unit.

The magical flames could not be extinguished.

Lorencio’s troops could do nothing but abandon their wagons and carriages, withdrawing from all burning areas. Yet because Lorencio was still in his carriage, he couldn’t escape.

As soon as Ivita and the others came out, they seemed to have found a solution, quickly besieging Ivita and Maximilian, causing a commotion.

"Is this your doing? Release our master at once."

A knight pointed at the tip of Ivita’s nose and said, "Wizard, don’t think of playing any tricks. I..."

To his own astonished gaze, the steel of his Knight Sword began to melt from the tip, turning to molten iron.

"Ah..." The knight let go of the sword in pain; it fell to the ground, becoming a puddle of molten steel.

He looked at Ivita with a mix of shock and fear, at a loss for what to say or do.

Ivita raised her newly acquired Golden Sun Wand. As soon as the wand appeared, the whole area became brilliantly bright, as if reflecting the gold itself.

"Without the Great Knights and the evil Qi they wield, there is no one to suppress and resist my magic. Numbers are of little significance against us now."

Ivita waved her wand, and every single weapon in the hands of the hundred-man unit broke automatically while their armor began to flake off.

This was Ivita applying the Aging Curse to these objects.

Maximilian’s eyes widened as he whispered to Ivita, "I was about to ask you to step back, so I could protect you. But it seems I was being too clever for my own good."

He laughed bitterly. "Why has Mr. Ivita changed so much after more than a year without seeing each other?"
