Chapter 791: Chapter 416: Lord of the Iron Crown_2
But after another five minutes passed, the puppet was still nowhere to be seen. The King of the Ancient Tomb knew he had thoroughly lost and stopped Ivita saying, "Hold on. Don’t kill me. Killing me isn’t the best move for you. You’ve already got my heart and my weapon, why not let me stay? I could help you."
With a composed expression, Ivita asked, "Why should I keep a zombie by my side?"
The King of the Ancient Tomb replied: "My endless zombie army can transform humans into zombies. That would be beneficial to you, right? You could make use of the zombie army I create."
Ivita rolled his eyes, "Your zombie army would only bring me more trouble."
"However,"
He snapped his fingers, and suddenly, the flames on the King of the Ancient Tomb disappeared.
Ivita gazed at the King of the Ancient Tomb, who stayed silent.
The King of the Ancient Tomb gritted his teeth; he had to survive now or it would all be over—just like the last time he had died. He knelt on one knee before Ivita and surrendered his heart.
Taking the heart, Ivita said, "I don’t need you to convert armies for me. But keeping you around might prove useful in the future. I can give you that chance."
"Do you accept?"
The King of the Ancient Tomb said to Ivita: "I am willing to serve you as my king."
Ivita saw the King of the Ancient Tomb bowing his head. He knew that his immediate survival was his priority and he’d be seeking revenge at the first opportunity. But with his powers greatly diminished, he didn’t prove much of a threat anymore.
The Ice-fire strength in his body had been significantly weakened. The connection he had with the Winter Law had been severed by Ivita, and most of his zombie army had been wiped out by Ivita’s Sand Soldiers.
Now Ivita had depleted too much energy in his battle with the King of Zombies and had already reached his limit. He glanced over at Duravin and Old Sword Saint, and then at the ambitious inheritors of the Iron Crown lurking nearby.
He needed the King of the Ancient Tomb’s power now to protect his victories, to secure all the triumphs he had achieved in this country.
The King of the Ancient Tomb had seized this opportunity, he had determined this fact and made the decisive decision to pledge loyalty to him.
Ivita said to the King of the Ancient Tomb: "Since you are my man now, I have my first command for you."
The King of the Ancient Tomb responded: "Master, please give your orders."
Ivita ordered, "Eliminate Duravin and the Empire’s Sword Saint."
"Stop all Iron Crown successors from reaching the mountain."
A bloodlust-filled grin appeared on the King of the Ancient Tomb’s face. Duravin, on the other hand, was struck dumb with fear. He never expected that Ivita would so quickly turn on him.
Although this was a competition for the throne, not a child’s play.
Even if he were in Ivita’s position, he would probably act even more ruthlessly, but when it actually happened to him, Duravin felt ridiculous.
The Old Sword Saint shouted at Ivita: "Wait a minute, young man...no, sir. We are honoured nobles of the Holy Empire, and this one here is a prince of the Holy Empire. You can’t do this."
"Doing such a thing goes against your own beliefs and morals. All the people within the Magic Black Forest belong to the Empire, you..."
Ivita turned his back on him without a word in response.
Because the King of the Ancient Tomb had already arrived in front of the Empire’s Old Sword Saint, ready to fight.
Meanwhile, Ivita controlled his second avatar to head for the base of the Iron Crown mountain range to intercept any possible successors who might ascend.
As expected, at the foot of the mountain, he saw a group of waiting hopeful nobles.
They were startled upon seeing Ivita’s giant avatar, but they soon began to reasoning out that they were all human nobles who shouldn’t harm one another, in an attempt to dissuade Ivita.
But Ivita didn’t find their plea convincing and sent a thunderbolt to their feet.
The Giant Avatar warned them: "If you dare to advance half a step further, your death is imminent."
A group of heirs from the middle and lower nobility, believing in their strength due to their origins from around the world, voiced their dissatisfaction with Ivita’s giant avatar. "Wizard, we are all potential heirs, some of us are even above you in the order of succession, who are you to stand in our way?"
"We want to go up as well, you have no right to stop us, don’t you care about your reputation..."
With a light touch to the throat of the speaker, the giant avatar casts a silence spell. Despite his moving lips, not a sound was made.
Meanwhile, at the location where the Elephant Divine Weapon fell, Ivita’s second avatar, along with two hundred heretics, surrounded the Elephant Divine Weapon. Ivita addressed Qixiong within the Elephant Divine Weapon, saying: "Do not leave this place."
A bitter voice came out from the Elephant Divine Weapon. "Rest assured, Lord Wizard, if it were just me coming to the Iron Crown Mountains, I would have been long dead. Only after lowering my expectations did I realize I had no rights to touch the Iron Crown."
...
At the summit of the Iron Crown Mountains, Ivita ascended the stone steps that were previously blocked by the law and inaccessible to anyone. The Iron Crown reincarnated into a young girl, just like the noblewoman Cap, but this time there were hundreds of them.
In unison, the girls said, "We have guided countless people to this broken nation, but you are the only one who has made it this far."
"Keep moving forward, everything you seek in the future is just ahead."
"Finally, the inheritor is here."
With each step Ivita took, an incarnation of the Iron Crown vanished. And just before vanishing, each one of them would bow to Ivita.
Ivita remained silent.
He was unexpectedly appointed the Iron Crown inheritor. If it weren’t for the scheming going on here between the Iron Crown King and the potential heirs, he would have had nothing to do with the Iron Crown.
After going around in circles, the Iron Crown ended up in his pocket.
As he climbed the spiral staircase, his vision suddenly expanded. He reached the top of the mountain and on top of the Iron Crown Peak, he saw a throne embedded with iron swords.
At the very top of the throne’s backrest was an iron crown.
Ivita walked over and stood in front of the throne.
The last incarnation of the Iron Crown lifted the crown from the throne and handed it to Ivita. "This is the final step, put it on, and everything in this nation will be yours."
"From birds in the sky to corpses in the dirt, all should heed your command. That is their duty and your responsibility."
"The power to rule over both the physical and the spiritual realms belongs to the Master of the Iron Crown."
With the Iron Crown in his hand, Ivita paused before putting it on and asked the last Iron Crown incarnation: "If I wear it, could I make the desert vanish, restore all anomalies in this nation, and ensure that the living outnumber the dead?"
The Iron Crown incarnation answered, "Yes."
Ivita still hesitated to put it on, and he continued to ask: "Another question, if I want to restore freedom and dignity to every individual in this nation, could I achieve it?"
Without hesitation, the Iron Crown incarnation said, "You can."
"Because this was not the original form of the Iron Crown Law, but rather the wish of the successive monarchs of Lombardy."
"You are not a slave to the Iron Crown Law, but the ruler here."
"Night and day, always in operation, following a certain set of rules, thus the Iron Crown Law itself has the potential to change."
Ivita nodded in acknowledgment. He placed the crown upon his head.
In that instance, a single thought crossed his mind — ’It’s so heavy.’
Simultaneously, a spiritual light pillar erupted from the Iron Crown Mountain and shot up into the sky. The light, nearly materialized, was like a pillar supporting the heavens.
Everyone could see it upon lifting their heads.
At that moment, everyone nearby the Iron Crown Mountain knew, there was a new successor to the Iron Crown.
