Chapter 767: Chapter 405: The Call of Twilight of the Gods_2
The burning gas seemed like the desert sands, yet it lingered without dispersing. The Hearthstone Witch beside Ivita said, "That is the medicinal power inside the Three Sisters Grass. You have to inhale it through your nose. If you consume it orally, you won’t unlock the most potent power within the Three Sisters Grass."
Upon her advice, Ivita took a forceful sniff suddenly, and the yellow mist condensed from the Three Sisters Grass in mid-air descended into Ivita’s nostrils.
Instantly, Ivita noticed an illusion appearing before his eyes.
Above the underground river’s space, a giant sand eye appeared, hollowly observing all the people in the underground river space.
Whispers echoed in Ivita’s ears.
’Someone told me that when a great life falls from the sky, countless tiny lives on the ground would live because of it.’
’Others have said that the tiny creatures that consumed that great life might not be free. For a vast consciousness can grow out of their humble and insignificant bodies.’
’The desert is a place of deathly silence that even death fears.’
’Therefore, I await the day of resurrection in the desert.’
Ivita suddenly felt a chill up his spine. He had forgotten that the final effect of the Three Sisters Grass was to obtain the power and army of the God of the Desert.
Even though the God of the Desert has been driven into the Star Realm by the Church.
However, the Three Sisters Grass is the anchor of the God of the Desert, an instrument for his descent.
Ivita could sense an almighty force invading his Light Soul by following the power of the God of the Desert he just inhaled. It wanted to recreate itself in the Magic Black Forest by corrupting the Light Soul.
The Hearthstone Witch seemingly noticed something wrong too. "This is a trap...no, it’s not a trap."
The Hearthstone Witch pulled out a candle that looked like a bull’s horn.
The top of the bull horn candle was aflame with Void Flame.
"Your Majesty, there was no believer summoning the God of the Desert. When His power was inhaled, it automatically summons the God of the Desert deep in the Star Realm, attempting to drag Him out of the Tomb of the Gods."
"This is a Void Horn Rhinoceros Candle. It can strengthen the nearby space, primarily used to counteract Spatial Magic and render it ineffective."
In the midst of this urgent situation, Ivita looked at the bull horn candle in the hand of the Hearthstone Witch.
Surely, he felt the Great Consciousness communicated from the power of the God of the Desert significantly weakened.
Ivita quickly mobilized his Light Soul, and fought back, attacking the Great Consciousness to push it back to the depths of the Star Realm.
With this action, Ivita felt part of his Light Soul entwined with the Great Consciousness.
In an instant, Ivita also seemed to sense the Tomb of Gods in the depths of the Star Realm, the land where the twilight of gods rest.
He saw a deepest part of the universe devoid of any starlight.
Countless bodies, as large as mountains or planets, lay in the universe, aimlessly drifting. Drops of blood, as large as oceans, were suspended there like meteorites.
There were even creatures on those God Blood planets.
The God Blood Creatures were whispering amongst themselves, extremely curious about Ivita’s consciousness, which appeared far too weak to them.
’Only gods could sense the call of the Tomb of the Gods. Why can the consciousness of a mortal see the greatness of the gods? If so, couldn’t we leave here too?’
’We are pitiful. Forever confined to those few God Blood planets, we who are not spirits born in the twilight of gods, never have a chance to leave.’
’Then let’s quickly go to him and ask him to take us out.’
’Wait, if he’s not a spirit, how can a part of his consciousness that entered here leave?’
Ivita saw in the distance a half-broken large ancient Red Dragon wandering in the depths of the Star Realm.
On the rotting body of the ancient dragon, parasitic creatures were growing. Those parasites could transform into beautiful humanoid creatures, or muscular dwarfs, though small in stature.
Ivita felt like he was having a déjà vu moment with the Red Dragon.
But the Red Dragon suddenly raised its head to look at him, "The Iron Crown?"
In the next moment...
Ivita felt as if his consciousness had been forcefully pushed back into his body by a high-speed train; he hadn’t even had time to react. Also, the trace of the God of the Desert’s resurrection within him had disappeared.
The God of the Desert was still being summoned from the depths of the Star Realm.
Or to put it another way, the summoning power within the physical world -- the Magic Black Forest -- was not as strong as the force from the Star Realm.
Ivita could feel an inexplicable power coursing through his body. As he raised his hand, the entire underground cave began to shake.
Ivita realized he could control the sand particles on the ground.
He quickly took flight from the underground space in the form of a peregrine falcon. Seeing this, the Hearthstone Witch followed closely behind. It was only when they emerged on the desert surface that Ivita realized he had created a small sandstorm above the underground river.
The desert tornado was churning up and down.
More surprisingly, within the sand whirlwind were nearly 5000 sand people, appearing like terracotta soldiers.
Ivita landed on the ground, looking at the sand terracotta soldiers within the distant sandstorm. He raised his right hand, drawing on a small portion of the power of the God of the Desert within him.
Instantly, the sand terracotta soldiers emerged from the sand tornado, their hands automatically forming into long spear weapons from the sand.
This massive army left the Hearthstone Witch completely dumbstruck.
The Hearthstone Witch said to Ivita, "Has the Three Sisters Grass allowed you to get such power?"
"The number of this army is just too overwhelming."
Ivita said, "The God of the Desert wanted to use them to dominate the world; it wouldn’t be average. But I guess the original plan of the God of the Desert was to imbue these soldiers buried in the desert with power after he arrived."
"This army that could originally threaten the world is now just for a show."
"We only have a small portion of the power of the God of the Desert. This power will merge into the blood in my body and can be passed on to descendants."
"But the most we can do is to summon this army without being able to provide them with the power."
Ivita had tried to use his Light Soul to replace the God of the Desert’s divine power, providing these soldiers, but an overwhelming feeling of exhaustion and impotence immediately surged within him.
To fill this Terracotta Army with power, Ivita felt he would need at least a Dark Soul.
Ivita said to the Hearthstone Witch, "Even if it’s just for a show, it’s impressive that these sand soldiers possess a little more strength than ordinary people. These desert soldiers have the ability to live eternally in the desert."
"Regardless, we’ve achieved our goal. More than 200 survivors of the Sun God Sect has managed to live while the number is somewhat few, the failed ritual power of the Three-headed Black Sheep almost all flowed back into them, causing them to possess the ability to confront high level professionals."
"And this sand soldier force, not only useful now, will be handy in the attack on the Alsace Kingdom in the future."
Ivita gazed into the distance, noticing the Elephant Divine Weapon they had previously encountered. And above it were a bunch of Griffon Knights.
Following behind the Elephant Divine Weapon and the Griffon Knights was a swarm of insectoids from the Chaos Abyss.
Ivita frowned and immediately waved his hand, withdrawing the power of the God of the Desert. Immediately, the sand soldiers disintegrated, turning into a pile of sand.
However, the sandstorm and tornado remained.
Ivita looked at the other side, "These bugs from the Chaos Abyss aren’t actually attacking the Elephant Divine Weapon. With that clumsy weapon, if they attacked, there’s no way it could dodge, it would only be able to withstand."
"So it seems like someone is in league with the Chaos Abyss."
"Are they using a wolf to swallow a tiger?"
