Chapter 714: Chapter 380 Feathered Serpent God and the Sea_1
The Sea Spirit Witch had Earl Roserolf by the throat, her eyes filled with murderous intent. "You know you deserve to die, don’t you?"
Earl Roserolf tried to speak a few words to her, but his voice was so weak that the Sea Spirit Witch could not make out what he was saying.
Amid the torrential rain, a look of scorn crossed the Sea Spirit Witch’s eyes. With a forceful twist, she snapped his neck, ending his life. "Not sure what you were trying to say before you died, but I don’t think it was worth listening to. Die."
Watching from a distance, a minion of the Black Death burst into hearty laughter. "Humans, such pitiful creatures."
"So fragile, so weak, just like bugs that I can squash with a little effort."
The Sea Spirit Witch turned to look at him, her eyes flashing with disgust that even surpassed her loathing for Earl Roserolf. "Laughable. You think you have the right to ridicule him? Are you laughing at his fifty steps despite taking a hundred yourself?"
"You’re even less than that human. At least humans have souls. What are you, you don’t even have a name of your own. Just a lowly existence born of disease."
This left the third-stage minion of the Black Death momentarily speechless. "What!"
"Am I ... am I beneath humans in your eyes? Damn it! Damn it!"
The Sea Spirit Witch looked at him with contempt, then swiftly floated towards the Sea God Water Giant who had obtained the Sea God’s skull in the distance. An extraordinarily powerful conjugate force emerged between the two.
An invisible connection existed between her two bodies.
The sky, covered in dark clouds, echoed with a deafening thunderclap. The sky was filled with lighting.
The Black Sea rocked and swayed like a ship pushed to its limits, nearly capsizing, with the seabed threatening to spill over to the surface.
The sea surface was littered with wrecked ships and dead sea fish.
A river appeared between the Sea Spirit Witch and the female Sea God Giant.
The eyes of the Sea Spirit Witch flashed with fanaticism. "I will return to my great body, I will break free from the fate of the mortals, I am about to escape the shackles of the cycle of life and death."
The female Sea God Giant, standing on the seabed, addressed the Sea Spirit Witch saying: "Yes, the seas that were separated by regions will once again merge into one, man-made divisions of the ocean and their naming will no longer apply. The ocean can crush human law."
"The laws of the pirates are about to be destroyed, and no one is in charge at this time."
A white cloud emerged within the dark clouds in the sky. On the white cloud appeared a book. The Seven Seas Law Code sensed danger and began suppressing the spirit.
Although a spirit can ignore human laws to some extent, if a spirit harbours ill-will towards humans, local laws will also respond.
But as soon as the law descended, it was caught by the female Sea God with one hand.
Then, the female Sea God forcefully tried to close the separated book. At this moment, the pirates on Cross Island were suffering repeated blows, and had already begun to decline, therefore the authority of the law had also decreased.
It was only then that the female Sea God was able to suppress the Seven Seas Law Code.
"I heard a voice, destruction~ destruction~ destruction~," the female Sea God opened her mouth to say, sounding quite jovial, as she and the Sea Spirit Witch merged into one. "I listened carefully to the sound that appeared in my ear, and found that I had misheard, because I had missed two words—’Human Destruction...’ "
The female Sea God smirked. "I apologize, everyone, the ancient... sea that has never favored humans is back."
"I am the goddess of the Mediterranean, the ancestor of the Mermaid Tribe, the creator of the Sirens, the uncrowned queen of the Mediterranean, a goddess who once destroyed the fleet of an Ancient Civilization ."
...
Meanwhile, just beyond the Black Sea, on a commercial ship of the Belisarius Business Republic, merchants and sailors struggled to keep their footing on the deck. The moment the captain gave orders to lower the sail, they found the sea was without wind yet wavy. The next moment, the entire ship was swallowed by the sea waves.
These unfortunate events were happening by the thousands, all over the West Mediterranean Sea.
In just ten minutes, it was unclear how much economic damage it had caused to the entire West Mediterranean.
But the situation was likely much worse than those sailors and merchants who had suffered a disaster could ever imagine, because this was not a localized incident but part of revenge against all of humanity by the revived ancient female Sea God.
In the Papal Country, General Antioch was in discussion with two Cardinals. They looked at the waves constantly crashing into the breakwater, "Isn’t this the state of the sea that it was in at the end of the Ancient Civilization?"
"The heretics on the other side of the sea also obtained calm seas by paying taxes to their heretic Sea God."
The Cardinals exchanged a glance. "Sealing this sea is a symbol of us humans conquering the ocean. Originally, the Mediterranean was a calm ocean with not many big storms, allowing ships to easily use the Mediterranean for trade. Otherwise, just the sea disasters would be enough to inflict heavy losses on the merchants."
"The Mediterranean thus became our inner sea, and it used to be the inner sea of the Ancient Civilization ."
"Completely different from the outside ocean."
"But if the Mediterranean reverts to its original state — an impartial ocean with no human privileges — then this ocean would become a vast divide among the states. Then, the states would only become more divided."
...
In Blacktins Town on the northwest part of Cross Island, Ivita and the others, watching the nearly revived female Sea God, all had different thoughts running through their minds.
