Chapter 679: Chapter 366: Conditions for Advancement to High-Level Wizard and Allegiance to the Viscount Oting Family_1

The Hearthstone Witch quickly regained her composure and pretended as if she hadn’t said what she had moments earlier. Turning to Ivita, she said, "Your Majesty, how did you get here? A Sea Spirit Witch? Tide Witch?"

Inside the fountain, the Hearthstone Witch wore a look of deep thought. "I’ve never heard of them."

Ivita told her, "Because both of these witches are Witch Marquises and they pledge allegiance to the pirates of Cross Island, so I wanted to ask you."

A humorous expression crossed the Hearthstone Witch’s face. "Witch Marquises pledging allegiance to pirates? Each witch of that rank, Your Majesty, is a lord in her own right. The Ice Lich is an outlier, she wants to establish a new kingdom with Marco Anson. But for you to imply that a Witch Marquis would serve a pirate—no matter what kind of pirate he is—it’s quite strange."

"Strangest of all, if they were Witch Marquises, I wouldn’t have not heard of them. Even the Ice Lich, I’ve heard snippets of her stories."

Ivita raised her eyebrows. "I see. So, what are the requirements for promoting from a Great Wizard to an Advanced Wizard?"

The Hearthstone Witch held up three fingers. "Still three."

"And they are unprecedentedly troublesome."

"First, acquire elements."

"Second, be a Great Wizard for at least a hundred years."

"Third, elevate a magic spell to become an ’Advanced Magic.’"

Ivita furrowed her brows. "What is Advanced Magic? I haven’t seen you use Advanced Magic before. And, why must one be a Great Wizard for a hundred years?"

Among the three conditions, the most troublesome one was actually the second.

For someone like Ivita, time constraints would prevent him from fully utilizing his talents and luck.

The Hearthstone Witch slowly stepped out from the Holy Spring Water fountain. When she left the surface of the spring, the water turned red for a moment, before quickly reverting back to its normal colour. The wet patches on her clothes had also disappeared.

The Hearthstone Witch addressed Ivita, "Your Majesty, I have used Advanced Magic."

With a wave of her right hand, a splendid carriage appeared beside the fountain, decorated with intricate carvings and an additional phantom horse. "I’ve upgraded my ’Portable Carriage’ to Advanced Magic, turning it into a ’Phantom Carriage’. This way, the carriage is not just a magical storage object, but also a means of escape."

"This is my most powerful magic."

"Escaping with it is even better than your Majesty’s Dark Door magic."

Ivita: "..."

Who uses their most powerful magic to escape?

Ivita paused, then said with some hesitation: "That’s good. Only... Only... What is Advanced Magic? And how does it differ from Destiny Magic?"

The Hearthstone Witch pondered before replying, "Unlike Destiny Magic, which combines a person’s soul with the stars in the sky, endowing the magic with eternal life, Advanced Magic connects one’s own desires to the full moon and uses particular objects. This allows these objects to possess great magical powers."

"In actuality, Advanced Magic isn’t necessarily higher-ranking than Destiny Magic, but it represents a new direction in the development of magic. By the Great Wizard Stage, advancing magic power requires harnessing the power of the full moon."

Ivita looked at the Hearthstone Witch in confusion. "But you’ve said before that the Magic Black Forest is the source of magic power. Can’t I connect with it to advance to an Advanced Wizard?"

The Hearthstone Witch shook her head, "The stages of Advanced Witch and Advanced Wizard were created by witches and wizards combining the power of hell and the full moon."

"Witches and wizards forever exist in the environment of the Magic Black Forest that constantly influences them. So, all stages involve gaining more power from the Magic Black Forest—in fact, the full moon is part of the Magic Black Forest."

The Hearthstone Witch told Ivita, "Your Majesty, you have to find your own desires and unite them with your magical power, then connect them with the full moon."

"However, to do this, you need to read magic books extensively."

"You need to have a profound understanding of magic, and accumulate more knowledge of magic on top of your current foundation."

Ivita looked somewhat distressed. "What you’re saying would require a lot of my time. However, I have another question. You said that to become an Advanced Witch, one must be a Great Witch for a hundred years. Were you a Great Witch a hundred years ago?"

The Hearthstone Witch shook her head. "I became a Great Witch eighty-nine years ago. As time passes, witches and wizards gain knowledge and magical power. One hundred years is the minimum requirement to advance to an Advanced Witch. The promotion from Great Wizard to an Advanced Wizard is the most time-consuming in all magic stages."

"This stage requires a hefty accumulation of magical knowledge."

"Therefore, a significant time commitment is necessary."

"But in Hearthstone Castle, there is a potion that can reduce the required time. I drank a lot of it before, which allowed me to meet the promotion requirements to become an Advanced Witch a hundred years earlier."
