Chapter 614: Chapter 340: Dragon Tooth Wand! The Holy Spring!_2

With her last wave, the entire hall seemed to return to its state from sixty years ago; all objects were reverting to their places as they were sixty years earlier.

However, all the people had now vanished.

Ivita noticed a framed picture that was automatically returning to the wall, depicting a girl with long golden hair that reached her shoulders, deep blue eyes, and a faint smile on her lips.

Despite her smile, Ivita noticed a touch of sadness on her face, with her brows slightly furrowed.

What was causing her to feel such sorrow?

Who was the owner of this painting?

After examining the hall with the Hearthstone Witch and finding nothing of significance, Ivita chose to split up for a more thorough search. While the Witch explored the servant’s quarters and the kitchen on the first floor, Ivita headed to the second floor of the castle.

Reaching the second floor of the castle, Ivita found it seemed to be the living quarters for the soldiers and male servants.

The design of the castle was somewhat peculiar.

In these rooms on the second floor, Ivita found several rusty iron swords hanging on the walls that had aged for sixty years.

What Ivita found strange was why the soldiers had left their weapons in their bedrooms sixty years ago while they themselves had vanished without a trace.

Continuing up to the third floor of the castle, he discovered these rooms appeared to be the bedrooms of the castle’s masters.

As he opened each room one by one, he found the third floor likely housed the children and relatives of the castle’s owners, with miscellaneous items and even unopened boxes of cosmetics inside.

However, Ivita estimated these now antique cosmetics held no particular value in their current era.

The largest room on the third floor, a cozy bedroom, was likely the Frog Princess’s room.

Surprisingly, Ivita found an Ice Wand in the corner by the bed.

Stunned, Ivita hadn’t expected to find a wand in the castle. Despite sixty years passing, this wand, which appeared to be made entirely of pure ice and shaped like a one-handed sword, showed no damage whatsoever.

When Ivita gripped the wand, he immediately felt a surge of magic flowing into his body. "The quality of this wand far surpasses the Lightning Wand and Plant Wand I obtained from Joanna. It can genuinely enhance my fighting prowess."

Without using any magic, and merely wielding the Ice Sword Wand, a frosty aura was released, freezing furniture such as the bed and desk in the room.

Taken aback, Ivita realized that the wand’s origins were undoubtedly extraordinary.

Pity such a precious item had lain forgotten in the castle for sixty years, but now, it finally fell into his hands.

He noticed a notebook that had been blown onto the ground. Picking it up and flipping it open, he saw no owner’s name written within, only a frog pattern drawn on the cover.

As he leafed through the diary, he found that all the entries were written by a little girl to herself. They ranged from expressing jealousy over a friend having one more hairpin than her to lamenting the impurity of her hair color.

However, some things captured Ivita’s attention.

The diary mentioned that her father was a beloved hero with a level five knight rank, which is quite high.

After he helped clear a creature called the Lava Monitor from a mountainous kingdom, the country’s citizens hailed him as their king.

After becoming king, her father started indulging in extravagances, loving gold and all things shiny. His kingdom was small, with few citizens, so the king gradually grew tyrannical. He would stop at nothing to acquire wealth, regardless of the consequences.

The man once hailed as Knight King by his people, was gradually perceived as a terrifyingly greedy lizard— the Lizard King by his own citizens.

But the girl loved frogs. She had kept a frog as a pet since she was young, and she understood them well.

She thought frogs closer to the people, hence, she wanted to become a Frog King.

Upon reading this, Ivita was lost for words; there were frogs and lizards everywhere in this story.

Couldn’t they have come up with a more appealing nickname?!

The latter part of the diary detailed how the father of the girl who aspired to be the Frog King— the Lizard King, after indulging in extravagant pleasures, even became a pirate to plunder other people’s business.

Upon returning from an outing, the Lizard King met a man named Marco Elliot.

Ivita’s pupils constricted sharply as she read this.

Because the Anson family is a branch of the Elliot family, it seems that the father of the Frog Princess, that Level five Knight, met Marco Anson during his sea voyage.

The diary wrote that, in addition to him, among the ’friends’ the Lizard King brought back, there was a level five Witch Marquis, also known as the Great Lord of the Ice Witch. She gave the newly met Frog Princess a gift.

It was that Ice Sword Wand.

Only after reading the diary, did Ivita realize that the Ice Sword Wand came from an Ice Witch, who was also a level five Witch Marquis.

The Ice Witch told the Frog Princess that she is a highly gifted witch, possessing magic power surpassing average witches without even needing to learn.

She could do something significant for the Lizard King and the King of the Seven Seas in the future, therefore, she had to protect herself with this Ice Sword Wand before then.

The Ice Sword Wand was made from the dragon tooth of an Ice Bone Dragon. It was a Dragon Tooth Wand.

Moreover, meticulously crafted by a level five witch over a period of fifty years, it was incredibly powerful.

However, any mere human who touches it, would undoubtedly perish, turning into an ice cube. Otherwise, even a commoner wielding this Ice Sword Wand would have the chance to kill a professional.

The key point is that this wand possesses the power to freeze magic, the ability to freeze spells, making it the bane of witches.

Ivita, her left hand clasping the Ice Sword Wand, said, "In the diary, the Frog Princess said that from that day onwards, she had been subject to various assassination attempts by witches. If it weren’t for this wand, she would have been long dead."

"But what does Marco Anson want her to do? Is it related to the ’witnessing’ mentioned earlier?"

Ivita wanted to finish the notebook, but she discovered a serious problem. The Frog Princess was inconsistent in her habit of diary keeping.

The diary only recorded less than six months’ worth of time.

In other words, the Frog Princess only maintained her daily diary habit for less than half a year. Well, her willpower was stronger than most people’s.

Most people couldn’t even maintain a habit for half a year and gave up after a few weeks.

The later entries in the diary were fewer and far between.

However, the diary later repeatedly mentioned a few sentences —

’My teacher the Ice Witch said: My magic talent may not have been naturally acquired, but rather the effect of the Holy Spring underneath the castle.’

’I asked my teacher how many Holy Springs there are in this world, she said there is only one and it’s on Cross Island. But there are also five other springs on Cross Island which they will destroy one by one.’

’My teacher said the laws represented by the springs was their objective for coming to the island.’

Ivita closed the diary having finished reading it. "A spring? Could that be the symbol of Cross Island’s original law?"

Just as Ivita was about to ponder on this, she suddenly heard the exclamation of the Hearthstone Witch.

Thinking that the Hearthstone Witch had encountered an enemy, she made no attempt to use the door but crashed through it and rushed out.

But when Ivita got to the stairway on the third floor and looked down, she realized the Hearthstone Witch was dancing in front of a dried-up spring.

Ivita frowned and transformed into a falcon, jumping directly from the third floor and landing on the first floor.

The Hearthstone Witch said to Ivita, "Majesty, I just encountered a mouse in this hall, then I cast a Fire Magic spell at it, guess what happened? My Fire Magic collapsed the floor, revealing a dried up spring sealed underneath with wooden boards."

"Look, there’s even a Knight’s sword stuck in the middle of the spring!"

"After sixty years, the sword hasn’t rusted."

"It’s a treasure, definitely a treasure. But why is the spring dried up and why was it sealed with wooden and stone boards below the first floor of the castle hall. It’s strange." The Hearthstone Witch said, puzzled.
