Chapter 604: Chapter 337 Siege Network and Territory Disaster Punishment_1
The Governor is dead?
Ivita was taken aback.
The man who ruled Central Harbour, and nominally commanded one of the most powerful naval forces in the world, had been killed by a passing grade four wizard.
But the Druids couldn’t possibly have a wizard that powerful.
Could it be a personal friend of Pan God?
Not long after Ivita speculated about who killed the Great Governor, Wilson came over carrying the mummified assassin. He shook his head at Ivita. "My Lord, I’m sorry, he didn’t say anything."
"But from what I understand, this man is likely from the "Blood Fraternity", they combine the power of the blood race with the faith of assassins, causing huge changes in their abilities. I think he must have used "Blood Shadow Sting" and "Blood-worship Prayer" in front of you."
Ivita nodded. "Never mind, I guessed it would be so. Have someone lock him in an iron coffin and seal it in the dungeon of the Viscount Castle in Viscount Valji’s territory."
Wilson and Knight Kelmu saluted Ivita. "Yes."
Ivita glanced at the Blue Illusion Witch, "Let’s go, into the village."
The Blue Illusion Witch’s village was not large, just over two hundred people, most of whom were old, tilling a few fields. It looked like a paradise where no taxes were required. But even with her large-scale Illusion Technique, the area wasn’t very big either.
Therefore, the villagers didn’t have much land, and could only live hand to mouth.
This was probably why the Blue Illusion Witch had so easily revealed the village hidden by magic. The people in the village had begun to tire of their lack of resources, living life like primitives.
The village chief was a deaf and visually impaired man in his seventies. With the support of two strong men, he bowed and said to Ivita, "Thank you for coming, my Lord. Unfortunately, our small village has nothing to offer, and can’t entertain you accordingly. Please forgive us."
Ivita nodded. "That’s alright, I’m just here to look. I will continue to exempt the existing elderly in your village from tax, but people under thirty can’t be exempt."
Actually, giving full tax exemption to a village of two hundred people wasn’t a big deal, but if he really did that, all the civilians in his territory would flood into this village.
It was for only one reason.
Tax exemption.
This was a great privilege of a lord. As long as he was willing to grant partial tax exemption to a place, that place would prosper quickly.
One sentence could create a small-scale commercial and population center.
However, such power, if not controlled properly, could also cause economic and population decline in the territory.
The old village chief hurriedly bowed deeply to Ivita. "Thank you, my Lord."
The Blue Illusion Witch was greatly impressed with Ivita. She slightly bowed to Ivita and said gratefully: "Thank you, my Lord."
"I must apologize for hiding our village with magic without permission. Please follow me, my Lord."
She walked out of the house, deliberately giving Ivita a glance.
Ivita followed without knowing why, and arrived with her at the highest point in the village. There was a natural spring there. The clear water gushed from the eye of the spring, nourishing the surrounding lush grass and ancient trees.
It was stunningly beautiful.
Ivita also saw a shimmering blue light in the middle of the spring, but it was not noticeable unless you looked closely.
Ivita opened his "Spirit Vision", and found the spring had a strong spirit.
Standing next to Ivita, the Blue Illusion Witch said, "My Lord, when I mentioned the Illusion Technique earlier, your face changed. This indicates you are recently being troubled by something similar. But as you can see, no matter what kind of magic, it always has weaknesses."
"I linked this illusion magic with the spring, but also made the spring miraculous. That’s the flaw. If you suspect that a great illusion has been applied somewhere, you can check the place for anything indestructible or magical."
Ivita nodded, then was struck by a thought. "What if a wizard links his magic to the sun and the moon in the sky, what would happen?"
The Blue Illusion Witch paused, then she laughed. She beat the ground with her vine entwined magic wand. Instantly, a cave appeared on the ground. She reached into the cave and pulled out a scroll. "This is my portable cave."
"You can also say it’s my treasure vault."
"This is a scroll of Linked Magic from Black Witch Group – Pearl tooth. As long as you read the spell inside, you will understand what Linked Magic is."
"Um... what do you need to trade for that? I can’t just take it from you..." Ivita accepted the scroll. It was an unexpected delight to receive a magic scroll from a foreign land.
The Blue Illusion Witch shook her head. "My Lord, just take care of my son for me. He didn’t inherit the witch’s lineage and can only live as a normal person in this life."
"The only thing I ask for him is to get married, have children, and live an ordinary life."
Ivita nodded, protecting her son for a valuable piece of magical knowledge was a worthy trade.
Her son was just an ordinary man who couldn’t cause much trouble. For ordinary incidents occurring in his territory, Ivita could handle it himself.
