Chapter 599: Chapter 335: The Taboo of Sixty Years Ago!_3

Knight Kelmu reminded the two of them, "Things are different from before. If the Earl’s territories really wage war on us, we can’t just escape by running into the swamplands. His previous indifference to you was just because he looked down on you."

Both the Chieftain of the Fire Lizard Tribe and the Barbaric Bone Chief were so infuriated they almost started fighting with Knight Kelmu.

"What did you just say? Our Land of Swamp doesn’t catch the Earl’s eye?"

"He’s just asking for a fight! Fire Lizard, strangely enough, I find myself on your side this time..."

Suddenly the door to the study was pushed open, and a burly man stepped in. "It’s not just Earl Yisen Hanjian who wants to give you a hard time now. Your neighbors are also eyeing your lands, hoping to take as much land and plunder as many people and wealth as they can while you’re in a precarious position."

The people in the study suddenly became serious.

Knight Kelmu stood in front of Ivita while the two chieftains of the swamp almost attacked the man who entered the study.

However, Ivita was happy because the man was the Iron Mountain Knight. At this moment, the Iron Mountain Knight was slightly pale. He had just recovered from a serious injury inflicted by the shadow of the Witch Queen.

The Iron Mountain Knight wore a robe of plain black, and a short figure followed him in.

But, Ivita soon realized that the person was not short but old, which caused the bent posture while walking. If he had been in his youth, he would have been a robust knight.

The visitor was Old Baron Anto.

He was a person from the original territory of the Valji Family who held a relatively high status and prestige. Previously, Ivita had assigned him the task of reassigning territories.

The Iron Mountain Knight glanced at Knight Kelmu before turning to Ivita, "My lord, my injuries are healed, thank you for overseeing my care and for your generous medical expenses."

"But this morning when I planned to visit you, I met Old Baron Anto on the street who was also coming to see you."

Ivita looked puzzledly at Old Baron Anto.

Old Baron Anto handed Ivita a document. "My lord, this is something I’ve sorted out. The nobles that should be stripped of their territories are listed here, as well as the reasons and evidence."

Ivita nodded. "Good job. You must have offended many people this time, but as long as you’re loyal to me, you will see the benefit in breaking ties with these people. It is much like getting rid of parasites from your body."

"It will be greatly beneficial to you."

Old Baron Anto had decided that he was going to stand with Ivita and had no doubts about it. "You’re right. There’s another thing, the neighboring Ice Wolf Viscount has attacked our wealthy village, Meri Village..."

The Iron Mountain Knight spoke gravely, "This is a probing attack. With the Viscounts and pirates backing the Ice Wolf Viscount, if we show any weakness, we risk being ravaged by wolves."

Old Baron Anto told Ivita, "My lord, the Ice Wolf Viscount has only hired some minor pirates. He was once just a semi-dependent of the Valji family."

"The Viscount himself is the only knight in his command. Although I hear that he has hired several assassins and witches."

Ivita nodded.

Lately, he had been quite bothered. First, the matter of the two eyewitnesses and the Frog Princess. There seemed to be vast secrets and conspiracies spanning sixty years, involving three generations of people, and maybe even the Great Governor of Central Harbour.

And then there was the task of dealing with Governor Rolof and the Earl.

And now even a semi-affiliate of the former Valji family, Ice Wolf Viscount, was causing him trouble. This was a real headache.

Ivita looked at the two knights, massaged his temple, and said, "Dead Cow Wizard, the two knights, you can take Kennedy’s thousand-strong forces along with the hundred professionals I recruited earlier to handle this."

"And Coral Princess the beautiful mermaid witch, the fourth-generation Vampire Wilson, and the... Hearthstone witch."

Ivita glanced out the window at the Hearthstone Witch who was haughtily riding a hellfire broom and laughing loudly. He paused and then thought about having her oversee this war against the Viscount’s territory.

Hearthstone Witch hopped in through the window. "My lord, I have made a contract with the Dark Lady of Light and obtained power from Hell. You just said you want me to help you defeat this so-called Ice Wolf Viscount?"

Ivita nodded.

"You will supervise this war."

Hearthstone Witch sneered, "Your wish is my command."

Seeing that a level four witch was on their side, everyone else was greatly encouraged.

...

On the one hand, Hearthstone Witch led the counter-invasion against the Ice Wolf Viscount’s territory. On the other hand, Ivita started searching for information about the Frog Princess and her missing territory.

Ivita searched nearly all the underground intelligence agencies in his territory but found no relevant information. Some even thought he was looking for trouble because it’s ridiculous to ask people to find fairy tale characters.

Nevertheless, they dared not offend the lord and so they complied begrudgingly.

In Maple Town’s adventurer guild, the manager respectfully offered Ivita a cup of tea. He then explained apologetically, "My lord, it’s not like we don’t want to help you, but nobody dares to accept a mission to find a fairy-tale character. If a guild mission fails, it will affect the reputation of the adventurer team."
