Chapter 462: Chapter 279 The Feathered Serpent God’s Subspecies_1
As soon as Ivita set foot on the deck, she saw about twenty human shaped creatures cloaked in scales on the deck of Britannia. The lower half of these creatures were pythons, their backs bristled with fins and spines, yet their upper bodies were human shaped, their faces free of scales, looking more like women that had been soaking in water for an extended period.
They were all female.
Ivita heard the Hearthstone Witch call them Nagas.
The weapons in the hands of these Nagas were harpoons or tridents. Unlike the sparsely dressed Sharkmen, they seemed to decorate themselves with seashell jewelry.
These Nagas seemed to harbor deep loathing for humans. As soon as they boarded their ship, they lunged at the sailors and warriors with their weapons.
Although the Nagas seemed terrifying, they didn’t seem to have any professional capacities. Only their racial talents seemed to make their bodies naturally strong.
These Nagas were sustaining a back-and-forth combat with the warriors.
But three furious winter melons aboard the ship plunged into the crowd of Nagas, violently crashing into them. One of the dreadfully robust melons could shatter their insides and cave in their abdomens with every crash.
Wilson grabbed a Naga, opened his terrifyingly huge mouth, and bit her neck with great force, fiercely guzzling her blood.
In just a few breaths, he had drained her dry.
The Hearthstone Witch raised the flames in her hand and tossed out a fireball. It set a naga ablaze with crimson flames. As she burned, she shrieked and plunged into the ocean depths.
The group of Nagas went berserk under these ruthless onslaughts.
"Damn land-dwellers, you’re all demons, devils; you should crawl back to your lands. The sea belongs to us."
"I’m going to skewer you like fish! You lower-life-forms, who won’t even dive to the ocean floor."
The next moment, the Old Witch appeared behind the Naga who was ranting about humans and land creatures being inferior. The witch’s fingernails abruptly elongated, sharpened, and hardened, and she stabbed them into the creature’s chest.
The Hearthstone Witch glared, "Seafood, who are you calling a lower-life-form?"
The Naga looked in terror at the hand piercing her chest, which was holding her still-beating heart. She instantly felt short of breath and her limbs felt weak. But before she could react, the Hearthstone Witch crushed her heart.
And just like that, she died.
The rest of the Nagas who saw this spectacle instantly felt the Hearthstone Witch’s terrifying power and evil nature.
When the Hearthstone Witch turned her head round and fixed her sinister gaze onto them, the Nagas could only step back.
Ivita was bewildered; their actual strength didn’t seem that remarkable.
At this point, Captain Sam exclaimed from a distance, "My lord, those Nagas are attacking the rudder at the stern below the waterline of our ship. If the rudder is damaged, we won’t be able to steer. They’re also attacking the underwater hull!"
"They don’t mean to kill us, they just want to wreck our ship and bury us in the Floating Sea."
Ivita declared calmly, "If our ship really does get damaged, don’t worry. I’ll catch those troublemaking Nagas. We can ride one each across the Floating Sea and find the instigator to reimburse the cost of my seven ships."
Captain Sam zoned out. Ivita’s confidence and calmness was contagious.
However, what he was mainly thinking about was that, out of Ivita’s seven ships, six were forcibly seized. Could he really demand others to compensate for the damages?
Ivita was about to check the situation at the stern. She had barely reached midship when she heard a prayer. The prayer was powerful and enchanting. It was as though it was invoking an omnipotent god that was extremely biased—
’Invoke the arrival of the Sea Mother to eradicate the enemies of your species. You, the maternal deep-sea torrent, drowned countless humans; You, the vast surge, slay anyone who displeases you.’
’Invoke the arrival of the Sea Mother. We are the children of the sea; please execute these sons of the land...’
As the prayer crescendoed, Ivita saw the Naga Priest who was hiding on the sea surface transform into a colossal being about twelve meters tall. This huge Naga undulated in the sea while continuously chanting her prayers to the foreign god, her body scales gleaming. Every scale was as dazzling as a blue gem.
This blue gem scale armor demonstrated her bestowed divinity from the Mother of the Sea.
She exuded a spiritual aura of the second order.
Ivita had encountered priest classes before. During Ambros’s battle with the Sons of the Forest, she had encountered their priest class.
If it was on land, Ivita believed she could instantly obliterate these maritime priests. But they were now at sea, it wasn’t her home territory.
At least ten Naga Priests had morphed into colossi and extracted their conches from their waists, and begun to blow into them.
As the ancient and deep conch sound pierced the air, cyclones formed over the sea surface. These cyclones drew in seawater and turned into water spouts. Ten water spouts reaching from the sky to the sea surfaced, it was a spectacular sight that utterly stimulated the ferocity of the Floating Sea.
