Chapter 449: Chapter 271: Primitive Law! Speculation of the New Continent!_1

On the plateau high in the mountains of Volcano Island, Ivita asked the Hearthstone Witch, "What exactly is going on?"

The Hearthstone Witch pulled out a small piece of wood for Ivita to see. The piece was only as big as a person’s pinky finger, and its edges were burnt. The most crucial thing was that the piece was black.

At a glance, Ivita recognized it. This was the wood of Black Granny.

Ivita used the wizards’ Spirit Vision to observe the wood. He found that it contained a fragmentary but still relatively powerful spirit. This spirit was very pure, as if it had been purified by something.

Ivita knew what had purified it - it was fire, the Fire of Law.

In surprise, Ivita exclaimed, "This is Black Granny’s essence. Black Granny didn’t die. No, that’s not accurate. Its chaotic spirit has been cleansed once. A new life is being born from it."

"Does the Evil God possess such powerful vitality?"

The Hearthstone Witch replied, "The Evil God does not have this ability. The Evil God can be reborn in the form of a fetus by leaving a residual evil thought in others, or by possessing some humanoid objects with part of its soul. But, I’ve checked, during the previous fight between the Leo God and Black Granny, all the objects that Black Granny left on the island for revival were destroyed."

"It also destroyed all the back-up measures it had prepared to be reborn through the pregnant native women."

Ivita did not realize that there were these details in the fight a few days ago. He hadn’t paid attention to them because he didn’t understand much about the Evil God.

As it turns out, high-level battles were about the details.

No wonder Black Granny suddenly shifted the target of its curse to the Leo God before dying.

The Hearthstone Witch continued, "But the Evil God almost doesn’t have the ability to be reborn after its essence, power, and existence are all destroyed. This led me to doubt Black Granny. I asked Wilson to use Mental Coercion on me to access the memories in my mind."

"I found the true identity of Black Granny - it’s actually a secondary law of the primary law of a large tribal alliance."

"The subsidiary law of Volcano Island might not have been stolen by Black Granny, but rather was born out of its power."

Ivita looked puzzled.

The Hearthstone Witch explained, "According to the ancient records, each primitive tribe would develop very primitive beliefs - Pantheism, the concept that all things have spirits, and so on."

"This mythological system is even more primitive than the polytheism system of the Ancient World. The god worshipped by the Church should be, in other words, the Creator."

"According to the records in classical literature, some people discovered that those primitive tribes that hadn’t formed nations also had their own international system, which was a large tribal alliance. Several dozen, or even hundreds of constantly migrating tribes respected a native god and followed a world system dominated by an alliance leader."

"The primary law, thus, was born in this process."

"One characteristic of the primary law is that it will give birth to the protector spirits of the tribal alliance according to the strength of the tribal alliance."

"As long as the primary law of the tribal alliance does not disappear, the protector spirit as a secondary law will not truly die, but will keep reincarnating. However, this kind of reincarnation does not inherit any memories. It is a flawed reincarnation."

Ivita nodded and said to the Hearthstone Witch, "So, you suspect that Black Granny is not an evil god, but a subsidiary law of the primary law of a primitive tribe."

The Hearthstone Witch shook her head and said, "The primitive tribes that don’t have the concept of nations and cities can hardly be considered civilizations, so it’s very difficult for them to produce laws within the literary law system."

"If they want to produce a primary law within the literary law system, they need a super-large tribal alliance composed of primitive tribes on the scale equivalent to that of an empire. The primary law also has the characteristic of giving birth to genuine laws. In other words, the primary law is a kind of embryo of the genuine law."

"Many ancient laws were born out of the primary laws of primitive tribes."

"But where can one find such a large-scale tribal alliance and primary law on a single Volcano Island?"

Ivita grasped the crux of the Hearthstone Witch’s statement. "You mean to say, it’s highly likely that Volcano Island originally wasn’t here. It’s likely that Marco Anson transported Volcano Island and its inhabitants from a place where an oversized, primitive tribal alliance resided."

"This implies that the story of Leo and Leo God with the Black Granny originally didn’t unfold here."

"Instead, it was situated somewhere else in the world, hidden in obscurity. They were simply relocated by Marco Anson."

"Implying that when the Laxi Dreamer, Leo, encountered this island, it wasn’t in the Mediterranean, instead he came across this island in another sea in the world."

"No, this sea area was originally linked to other sea areas of the world. The Laxi Dreamer reached the original sea area of Volcano Island through this sea area. So, Leo should have known that the Black Granny was the totem of the indigenous people, but he wanted to acquire the original Law of Black Granny and forcibly manipulated the memories of the indigenous people, creating a fabricated narrative."

Ivita pondered. "Laxi Dreamer turned so many city-state citizens into his own slaves, they are certainly not good people. This is probably the truth. Laxi Dreamer, Leo, arrived on Volcano Island as a colonist."

"The Black Granny likely lost contact with the original Law after being forcefully relocated, and the residual original Law within her body automatically nurtured the Volcano Island Law. This is why this small island has an affiliated Law."

"Upon relocation, the Black Granny was forced to transition into becoming an evil god."

The Hearthstone Witch found it easier to converse with intelligent individuals. She repeatedly nodded in agreement to Ivita’s deductions and said: "You’re right, that’s exactly my point. But I believe the Black Granny had issues from an earlier point. It isn’t unusual for a guardian spirit to transform into an evil god for acquiring more power. Many historical texts have documented such occurrences. After all, the original Law is primitive and isn’t the true Law, and has many loopholes. It might even pain the tribes it ought to protect."

"But the central issue is, Marco Anson created the Seven Seas Law Code around sixty years ago. If he could find such a giant primitive tribal alliance somewhere sixty years ago, it signifies the existence of a continent in the world, similar in magnitude to the Magic Black Forest, with many primitive tribes residing on it. Marco Anson and Boots Cat’s sea expedition likely visited a continent that’s virtually unexplored by the people of the Magic Black Forest."

"Although this conclusion is shocking, I believe I’ve guessed the strange occurrences they encountered at sea during their expedition."

Ivita blinked in surprise, not expecting that he and the Hearthstone Witch could derive so many insights from the Black Granny.

They even deduced the existence of an unexplored continent in the world, harboring a tribal alliance equalling the size of an empire.

For a moment, the words Ivita thought of were:

Geographical Discovery,

Major Colonization.

The Hearthstone Witch was still excited. She said to Ivita, "Currently, whenever nations venture out into the sea and discover uninhabited islands, they are elated, digging out gold and silver mines on those islands, and establishing plantations. If they were to find out that Marco Anson had visited an unexplored and untouched continent over sixty years ago, they would lose their minds."

"Shh~ Do you believe any pirates in the Pirate World already know about this?"

The Hearthstone Witch made a startling inference. "Maybe the pirates of the Pirate World have been exploiting that continent for years."

Ivita decisively shook his head. "If that were true, the gold mined from the continent would flood the kingdoms of the Magic Black Forest. Since it’s not happening, it suggests that the pirates haven’t located the new continent that Marco Anson discovered."

"There are numerous mysterious islands in the Pirate World, potentially even having an adopted potent Law, which distracts the pirates, leaving them no time for anything else. The Seven Seas Law Code must be grafted onto some other Law."

The Hearthstone Witch nodded approvingly, acknowledging that no one could create a Kingdom-level Law from nothing, let alone a Law for pirates.

From the conjectures in the logbooks of the Bearded Pirates, it seems that the sources of the islands in the Pirate World are diverse, and likely, the continent with the original Law is just a part of the origin of these islands.

Ivita said to the Hearthstone Witch, "Once we reach Cross Island, we’ll find out everything about the Pirate World."

"Let’s set sail today."

"If the Pirate World isn’t as simple as it seems, I will judge with my own eyes whether these pirates are meaningless layabouts or pioneers at the forefront of the exploration of the new world!"
