Chapter 435: Chapter 264: Obtained the Law of Volcano Island! New Fire of Law! Power from Human Civilization_2
Black Granny said, "I originally wanted to curse this little colonialist who came from the sea. I couldn’t bear to hand over this island and the indigenous people on it to him, but upon further thought, it’s you whom I hate the most."
"Moreover, rather than letting you kill everyone on the island, it’s better to let him have it."
"In the end, I, like you, was created by the humans of Volcano Island, existing as a guide to early human civilization. I’m already outdated, unable to grow any further; thus, I don’t want the humans to grow and wish to keep them in their primitive tribes with me."
"But now that I’m about to die, I have to fulfill my last duty as the Guardian God of Volcano Island, which is to kill you!"
Black Granny, having lost her status as the Evil God, would not be able to survive under the Fire of Law for too long. As she looked at Ivita, the thousands of years worth of evil desires of humanity accumulated within her were shattered one after another.
Ivita could feel these wicked wishes, wishes that left him terrified, tainting his consciousness even just by hearing about them.
’Why can the chieftain’s daughter give birth to two chubby boys while I can only have one son? Blackwood God, I give you all the deer meat I got from the tribe. Please just help me kill one of her sons, just one is enough, so things would be fair.’
’Why is it that because my elder brother is stronger and fitter, I am considered lesser than he is? I want to be like him, Blackwood God, I want fairness. Please cause my elder brother to break his right arm while hunting, so I can be just like him.’
’Blackwood God, I want to marry ten beauties from our tribe. Please grant me this wish.’
’Blackwood God, you’re our Guardian, you can do anything. Can you kill the chieftain for me? I want to be the chieftain. I promise I’ll give you whatever you want, anything you want is good, anything you want to do I’ll allow. Just let me be the chieftain.’
These wishes were all shattered within the golden Fire of Law.
In the end, only some very pure wishes were left.
’Blackwood God, I offer this deer meat to you. Please protect my mother. She was hurt when she was picking fruits last time, and it’s very tough for her. Please, you must protect her.’
’Granny, my mother says you’re the best god there is. I want to ask you to bless my brother so he stays safe.’
’Granny, this is the deer meat I’m offering to you. I hope you’ll be happy. We’re living well this year, and there isn’t anything that needs your attention.’
The fragmented, kindly face of the old woman, suspended within the flames, turned to look at Ivita.
Ivita said, "I didn’t expect you to do this in the end."
Black Granny said: "Whatever the humans on Volcano Island are like, that’s what I’m like. I’m not entirely evil, but I’m also not good. The evil wishes from humans are too many, drowning out those that are kind-hearted. But the good wishes they make to me are not meaningless, nor are they powerless. When your flame burned away the wicked desires, I was reminded of the duty of a guardian."
"In the end, I only did what a dictator would do. Can’t it be said that the tyrants among humans also suppress technological development, fearing that their subjects will escape their control? And don’t the elites among humans suppress their own people’s freedom, for fear that their people’s freedom of movement would break down their rule?"
"What humans are like, that’s what I’m like. I’m just a mirror that humans created for themselves."
Transforming into a kindly old woman, Black Granny said to Ivita, "Ivita, the Leo God will kill everyone on this island, so you must kill him."
Ivita wanted to speak, he wanted to recall the Fire of Law so that this purified Evil God could perhaps survive.
But the next moment, a Moon Blade flew into the flames, striking Black Granny, killing her, who was already almost out of power.
Behind the flames, there was the evil face of the Leo God.
The Leo God’s golden eyes were indifferent. "How absurd that a mere piece of wood causes so much trouble. Wouldn’t it be better if it just died?"
"Kid, in view of your help in getting me out of the seal, I give you permission to leave this island and head out to sea. But you alone."
"Everyone else must stay here to be the burial companions of this island."
After Black Granny’s death, the Fire of Law transformed into a golden Fire Bird and went straight into the island’s sky, lighting up the island that was beginning its descent into dusk and making the area around the indigenous tribe as bright as day.
Ivita lowered his head, extended his left hand, and placed the pure spirit that the Fire of Law burned, from the Evil God, into his palm. That spirit turned into a light sphere and then disappeared into Ivita’s hand.
As it had been thoroughly destroyed by the Fire of Law and its impurities burned away, this purified spirit was actually a great supplement for Ivita, turning into psychic energy, and boosting his spiritual and magical strength somewhat.
Ivita, his head bowed, ignored the self-righteous Leo God, and instead was contemplating. "Killing Evil God using the Fire of Law can actually grant me part of its purified spirit. I haven’t encountered this before."
"The Fire of Law just cleanup the spirit, meaning whoever kills the Evil God can actually get part of its spirit."
"Evil God is a great supplement for professionals."
"I’m afraid that as long as The Church gives the order, countless professionals will launch a holy war against these Evil Gods. It’s a win-win situation. Evil Gods are equivalent to extremely scarce resources."
