Chapter 406: Chapter 250: The Special Power of the High-Level Witch! The Contract with Hell! Entering the Cross Sea!_1

Under the threat of death, Duck Feather Captain had no choice but to command the remaining eleven pirates to board Ivita’s ship, the Calavera, and help Ivita and her crew fend off the resentful spirit ravens that were relentlessly attacking them.

After about two and a half hours, the gateway to the Supernatural Hell finally closed, forcing the resentful spirit ravens to return inside just before it shut down.

This raven attack resulted in the death of six more of the Duck Feather Pirates, while Ivita’s crew sustained only minor injuries, thanks to the ranger’s energy absorption skill and healing magic.

Seeing the ship littered with dead ravens, Wilson ordered the remaining five pirates to clear the deck of the bird carcasses.

The Duck Feather Captain watched this scene with deep sorrow.

He never imagined that what he considered a soft target would lead to the disintegration of his entire pirate gang.

They did not die in battle, nor were they hanged at the gallows in a coastal town of the Republic. Instead, they died protecting a merchant ship from monsters.

Duck Feather Captain was extremely depressed.

Once the deck was cleared, Captain Sam pleaded with Wilson to help tie up the remaining six pirates.

Sam looked scornfully at the pirates while gaining an understanding of his boss’s power.

Unexpectedly, the small pirates from Cross Island couldn’t even maneuver this ship. But, that was to be expected; they were, after all, headed for Cross Island.

"Boss," said Captain Sam, "we should maroon these pirates on some deserted island. You don’t mind, do you? Or would you rather have them jump ship now?"

Ivita glanced at Vampire Wilson, who could only use Mental Coercion to control two people, while Davina could control one. This meant that the remaining pirates were an unstable element and could only have a negative impact on Ivita’s team.

To Captain Sam, Ivita said, "Let these pirates reveal where they’ve hidden their treasure, then have Davina use Mental Coercion on the Duck Feather Captain to implant him with commands of absolute loyalty to me. As for the others, find a deserted island and maroon them there."

Upon hearing this, the remaining five veteran pirates became frantic.

"No, I’m more useful than the captain. Control me instead!"

"That captain is worthless!"

When the Duck Feather Captain heard he might survive, he was overjoyed. "No, no, no, boss, you must have your vampire use Mental Coercion on me. The money on the ship... I hid it in the captain’s quarters. You..."

Davina approached and grabbed his face, her gold-rimmed, dark eyes fixed on him. "You are utterly loyal to Mr. Ivita Augustus. He is your boss, and you are his most loyal subordinate."

Duck Feather Captain repeated her words in a murmur. "I am utterly loyal to Mr. Ivita Augustus. I am his employee."

"I am completely loyal to him."

Under the horrified gazes of the five pirates, Duck Feather Captain’s eyes became somewhat vacant. He glanced at Ivita and said to her, "Boss."

"Hello."

"I’ll help you deal with those five pirates. I know they still have hidden blades on them. Their plan is to cut the ropes binding them once you put them in a cabin, and then launch a surprise attack."

The five pirates were dumbfounded.

The captain had betrayed them completely.

The ability of the vampire to implant an idea forcibly into a person’s brain filled them with fear.

Ivita nodded, apparently satisfied with the results.

Vampire Wilson immediately had two hunters search the pirates, quickly finding the hidden blades.

In their complete despair, the pirates were escorted into the cabin by the two hunters.

The trainee hunters’ Gale Step and hamstring techniques proved quite useful for guarding the prisoners.

Half an hour later, the five warriors retrieved 15 gold pounds and 2 shillings from the pirates’ ship.

Ivita was speechless. "They really are poor."

Yet, this voyage had already earned her 345 gold pounds so far.

Captain Sam said to Ivita, "There’s no helping it, boss. These pirates squander whatever money they get on booze and whores. They can’t hold on to a penny. Anyone who could wouldn’t be a pirate."

Ivita looked at Duck Feather Captain.

At this moment, thanks to Davina, this man had become completely loyal to her.

Duck Feather Captain argued awkwardly, "That’s all there is, really. You’ve stripped us clean. We’ve been running at a loss these days, with expenses outpacing income..."

The female ranger, Seville, asked, "Sir, what about that pirate ship out at sea?"

Just as Ivita was about to say to abandon it, the Hearthstone Witch stepped up onto the deck. She glanced around, then said to Ivita, "Your Highness, we can still sell that ship for cash."

She was wrapped in formidable magic power; having just advanced, she was still not adept at controlling her magic.

Ivita said to the Hearthstone Witch, "The ship’s mast is broken, we can’t sail it away."

The Hearthstone Witch laughed, then said to Ivita, "Thanks to your invaluable assistance, I’ve finally advanced to a high-level witch."

"This high-level witch, well, it’s different from the Great Witch."
