Chapter 402: Chapter 248 Hearthstone Witch Promoted! Shocking Change! Supernatural Hell Under Black Night Laws! _1

The Caravel Merchant Ship has been at sea for four days. During the day, the sailors sailed at full speed, and at night, they lowered the sails, dropped the anchor, and rested the ship in the calm winds.

Captain Sam was an experienced captain. This voyage was crucial for clearing his name, so he worked very hard.

On the afternoon of the fourth day at sea, the ship collided with a barrel floating on the sea.

The sailors worked together to fish the barrel out of the sea. Captain Sam ordered his men to bring the barrel up onto the deck. They pried open the barrel with the help of Vampire Wilson and two warriors.

Suddenly, the barrel was found to be full of wet British Pound coins.

Ivita, standing on the deck of the ship, asked Captain Sam, "Can you actually find money at sea?"

Laughing heartily, Captain Sam replied to Ivita, "Boss, you’re really lucky."

"We often encounter barrels drifting in these waters. Most of these barrels are empty, but some contain treasure. There must have been a pirate raid on a nearby ship, and they must have hurriedly stashed their riches in these barrels. The pirates somehow overlooked these barrels, so the money has now fallen into your hands."

Ivita nodded and said to Wilson, "Get the hunters and warriors to count the pounds and store them deep in the ship’s cabin."

Gazing at the boundless ocean, Ivita felt a measure of joy.

This ocean was indeed filled with treasure.

He had always found it strange that if a desert could be considered a national territory, why couldn’t an ocean, which is far more economically valuable than a desert, be considered a part of a nation’s territory?

People have always overvalued land and neglected the ocean.

By three o’clock in the afternoon, when the sunlight began to wane, the warriors and two apprentice hunters had finished counting the money.

They had found two hundred and thirty British Pounds.

To these low-level professionals and sailors, this was a fortune.

Having nothing else to do on the ship, Ivita started organizing his magic powers and communicating with his territory through the Mirror Spirit.

After sailing for another day, it was deep into the night.

He went up to the deck intending to grab an apple from the barrel full of apples when he suddenly heard three sailors whispering.

Ivita went behind the barrel, picked up an apple, and used his invisible Hand of Mana to distort the air around him. It was a pitch-dark night with the sky blanketed in dense clouds, sans any starlight. Therefore, the three sailors on the deck did not see him.

The three sailors on the deck were whispering, and their language was filthy. They cursed the chief sailor, the first mate, and even ventured into making lewd jokes about Captain Sam and the elven-blooded ranger, Cecililia Strider.

After they finished disparaging Captain Sam, Ivita heard these third-rate sailors start cursing him.

"Damn it, a young lad riding on our heads just because he has more money and was born into a richer family," a bearded middle-aged sailor grumbled. "We found two hundred and thirty gold pounds this afternoon, we should all get a share. He didn’t share a single coin with us."

"I approached the warriors and the hunters today, attempting to instigate them to ask the boss to share the money. But they didn’t engage in my idea at all."

The other two sailors were also full of resentment.

"We dare not approach the knights. Those are noble knights, and if we tell them about this, they might have us arrested immediately. But since the money was found, why doesn’t the boss share it with us?"

"Sigh, let’s bear with it for now. The three of us won’t get far."

"Let’s go, let’s go sleep. I don’t even feel like eating the apples anymore."

From behind the barrel, Ivita rolled his eyes, speechless.

These three third-rate sailors were quite interesting, trying to incite his subordinates.

But how could the professionals who had witnessed his power at the port before setting sail betray him just because of these three fools?

After the three sailors left the deck, Ivita took a few bites of the apple and began to consider how to deal with them.

But these men had skills, and it required at least five sailors to operate a ship’s mast. And that was the bare minimum.

His ship had two masts, which meant that at least ten sailors were needed to operate the ship.

Just as Ivita was about to leave the deck and return to his cabin, he suddenly noticed a pair of eyes gleaming in the dark. On closer inspection, it turned out to be Captain Sam!

Captain Sam signaled Ivita to stay quiet by raising his finger.

He slowly approached and whispered to Ivita, "Boss, you heard what those three sailors were saying just now too! I could tell by the expressions of those three as they watched you salvage the barrel this afternoon, that they were going to cause trouble."

"From experience, I knew they would leave the crew’s rest area and come up to the deck to conspire."

"At sea, a very important responsibility of a captain is to be vigilant against the crew’s private collusion, trying to overthrow the captain!"

"So, I’ve been squatting here, watching them. Those idiots think we don’t know that they’re talking behind our backs, heh..."
