Chapter 397: Chapter 245: The Consequences of Misusing the Knight Potion and the Compass Pointing to the Treasure (Revised)_1

In the afternoon, sunlight penetrated through the dark clouds and shone upon the seaport of Lahaina Town, covering the wooden boards of the pier in golden patches.

Both parties had already gathered on the pier.

The town residents peered fearfully at the pirates on the other side of the pier, their faces a display of sheer viciousness.

Meanwhile, led by Governor Jack, the army marched toward the dueling ground, cheering for Germanicus.

Many noble youths stood by the pier, boosting Germanicus’ confidence.

Out from the pirates came two men. One was the wizard who had previously been seen shirtless, his body entirely covered in paint, controlling the vow. The other was a pirate donned in naval attire and a pirate’s hat. This was the man who had previously controlled the Voodoo Zombies - the pirate, Hank Han.

Ivita, tucked among the crowd, also witnessed this scene.

Thanks to the cover of the crowd, Hank Han and his pirates hadn’t noticed Ivita and her party.

A pirate brought forth a revolver coated in grime, which Hank Han introduced, "This is the bet for our gambling agreement."

"A type three revolver, named [Penalty]."

"And a hundred bullets to accompany it."

"What is your bet?"

Under Jack’s approving nod, a reluctant Colonel Norton had one of his subordinates present a wooden platter filled with gold coins.

Colonel Norton said to the pirates, "This is one thousand British Pounds."

The pirates’ eyes turned green at the sight of all the pounds. Even the townspeople and the local nobles felt a surge of greed.

Suddenly, a pirate rushed out from amongst them, yelling, ’Give me the gold!’.

He dashed towards the subordinate next to Norton, trying to snatch the pounds off the wooden platter.

In the next moment, Hank Han fired six sequential shots, from the revolver on his platter, at the pirate’s head whose strength was on par with a knight’s attendant.

With the sound of six gunshots, the pirate immediately fell to the ground, his life extinguished.

The pirates, townspeople, and nobles all fell silent, dumbstruck by the spectacle.

The insatiable wrath trapped within this revolver, endorsed by the Seven Seas Law Code, echoed with the furious roars of the ghosts who perished at sea with every bullet fired.

Hank Han, the pirate, addressed Colonel Norton and Governor Jack, "Everyone saw the power of [Penalty] just now, haven’t they?"

"Sorry for that. After all, pirates are a lawless bunch, always causing trouble. He was nothing more than a pirate slave owned by our ship’s official crew members. Most of the pirates here are slaves. These low-level pirates are simply so unsophisticated that they go crazy at the sight of gold."

Governor Jack and Colonel Norton could only begrudgingly nod, their expressions uneasy.

Hank Han, the pirate, turned around and held up an eyeball to the crowd. Upon seeing this, all the pirates gave a startled jump.

With a devilish voice, Hank Han declared, "The Captain will be watching this match, you hear me?!"

"Pay attention to what I have to say."

Governor Jack cast him a glance and declared, "The duel begins."

Everyone’s attention immediately shifted from the pirates to the young royal on the wooden pier - Germanicus.

Standing on the wooden board, Germanicus watched as the duel representative from the pirates approached.

The young man emerging was draped in a black felted coat. His face contorted in a vicious smile, he taunted Germanicus, "Hahaha... you mainland people really are like wooly white lambs. It’s obvious you’re ignorant fools who’ve barely killed any men, with muscles so dead they may as well be useless. I however am a resident of the Cross Island. Today is my first fight after being brought aboard. Stepping over your blood, I will become an official intern on this ship..."

Clearly, he wasn’t a zombie from the ship Black Friday but instead, a reserve intern.

After listening to Ivita, Germanicus sighed and said to him, "Really? I feel sorry for you hearing that. Everyone should receive the blessings of civilization. I truly wish you could live on the continent."

Clearly provoked, the opponent attacked Germanicus before the signal for the duel to start was even given.

As the pirate youth rushed towards Germanicus, his revealed legs, didn’t look human at all, instead they were covered with red shells like that of a crab. When he was punched in the chin by Germanicus and fell dizzily to the ground, Ivita saw a part of his chest under his clothes which looked like the skin of an eel.

He had many characteristics of seafood on his body.

"What’s his deal? What’s up with that boy, who has the strength of a knight’s attendant, and why is his body different from the average person?" Ivita asked Hearthstone Witch and Vampire Wilson by her side.

Hearthstone Witch explained to Ivita in a whisper: "Your Majesty, although the pirates on Cross Island can steal the Seed of Life and various potion formulas, they don’t know how to use them. So they just randomly take the Knight Secret Medicine and the Seed of Life. In the beginning, most pirates will die violently, but as time went by, they surprisingly made some advancements."

"They use the resources robbed from the sea trade routes and, through their luck, have developed some simple application sequences. But despite this, due to their crude application methods, their bodies have problems."

"Look, the pirate youth’s body has started to become inhuman due to disorderly use of medicine," said Hearthstone Witch to Ivita.

"The secret medicine of the knight system is a rigorous system devised by human pharmacists at the end of the ancient civilization. These pirates, without proper heritage, can only sustain the transformation of their bodies."

Ivita saw that the pirate boy in the dueling field had his head exploded by three punches from Germanicus with his bare hands.

The townsfolk at the port were thrilled with excitement.

The pirates all booed and said that the pirate boy was a waste, and even they would have been better candidates.

However, in fact, all of these people were too old.

Hank Han smirked at Governor Jack. "We pirates don’t have many remarkable young people, he’s just there to make up the numbers; we’ll let you win the first round."

"The young man on your side of the dock has good skills, why not let him join us pirates?"

Governor Jack was seething with anger. "You..."

"Your lousy ship is also eligible?"

"Bring the bet."

Hank Han let out a cold hum, commanding the pirates to hand over the punishment to the naval forces on the harbor side.

Then the second pirate to step onto the dock was a burly man in a seal fur coat. His eyes were cold, his expression playful, his forearms had severely turned into lobster claws, and his left hand was wrapped with bandages, as if holding something inside.

"A formal knight?" Germanicus posed the question seriously.

The lobster claw man scoffed: "I’m not just a regular formal knight, I have a weapon that can kill you. On the ocean, there’s no point in paying attention to professional level."

Next to the duel field, Hearthstone Witch bought a bag of melon seeds from a vendor, sharing them with Ivita. The two watched the duel and ate melon seeds together.

"Your majesty, who do you think will win this duel?" Hearthstone Witch asked.

For the first time Ivita felt that watching a fight could be so enjoyable. "I think my cousin has the upper hand."

"Just not sure what weapon is inside the bandage on his left hand, it seems that the weapon has already fused with his left hand."

Hearthstone Witch cracked open a seed, "Your majesty, the bet for the second round seems to be a compass."

"That bet seems very useful for us to set sail."

Ivita looked in the direction pointed by Hearthstone Witch and saw that the pirates had replaced the bet. A compass with a crack on the glass surface was now placed on the plate.

Hank Han the pirate said, "This compass is a third-type part, it can point you nine times towards the most beneficial direction where the treasure you want is hidden."

After hearing this, Ivita immediately thought of her need to find Sky Attribute Magic to be promoted to a formal wizard.

That compass can help her find it.
