Chapter 343: Chapter 218: The Church, Nations, and Four Beasts_2

The Hearthstone Witch excitedly said, "Your Majesty, would you allow me to be your assistant here?"

"Let me help you treat your patients."

"I love doing this kind of work where I can explore people’s inner secrets. I want to know more secrets than others do."

Ivita frowned. "I guess it’s possible. I don’t know why, but I always feel more comfortable with you by my side."

No sooner had he finished speaking than the Hearthstone Witch felt something new within her.

Pan God and Boots Cat exchanged glances, as they noticed that the Old Witch had surprisingly acquired an element.

If she had not forcibly broken through with Blood Magic earlier, damaging her foundation, she would already be a high-ranking witch by now.

Yet, the position of an assistant in a ludicrously small hospital within this spirit world could amazingly serve as an element label recognized by the Magic Black Forest.

This was astonishing.

Ivita looked at Kristin and said, "You guys don’t need to worry about us for now. Start with your own matters. Kristin, you seem to believe that your strength originates from hatred?"

Kristin defiantly responded, "Isn’t it? That’s much better than you, who doesn’t even have your own memories."

Ivita shook his head. "On the contrary, I think your strength stems from your persistent inner kindness despite experiencing numerous setbacks. In your mind, you seem to be constantly hunting down inhuman creatures."

"You believe that the hatred towards them gives you strength, perhaps it contributes a little."

"But I found that most of it is because you are forced to recall the scenes of your family’s death at the hands of villains whenever you witness certain things, and feel an overwhelming rage towards these inhuman creatures."

Ivita crossed his fingers, "In other words, your hatred has been hurting you, gnawing away at your strength."

"What truly supports you to keep going is your inner goodness. The kindness is what allows you to kill these inhuman creatures, to continually achieve victory, and to stop yourself from turning into a bloodthirsty monster just like them."

Ivita stood up, looked at Kristin, which put a lot of pressure on her. "Kristin, as strange as it may sound, it seems like I can see you clearly now. I’ve learned something, a hunter’s strength does not come from hatred but from the inner kindness that protects others."

Kristin looked at Ivita in shock, muttering to herself, "A hunter’s strength does not come from hatred."

She looked down at the dagger in her hands and was reminded of the time when the Black Rose Fairy had given the first hunter this small hunter’s sword because he had wanted to save his daughter and kill the witch who had imprisoned her.

Maybe, generations of Master Hunters in Hunter Forest have been focusing on how the first hunter killed the witch, ignoring that the primary goal of the first hunter was to save his daughter.

Ivita said to Kristin, "This place is the Lost City, anything is possible; you may gain even greater strength from this."

"See my wishing well downstairs? There is a statue of Odin in it. I heard that if you make a wish to the well, the god will grant it. It’s really effective, very miraculous."

Kristin looked at Ivita in confusion. "Why are you telling me all this?"

"Don’t tell me, you’ve remembered who I am?"

Everyone looked expectantly at Ivita.

Unfortunately, Ivita shook his head. "I just assumed that your profession is a police officer."

"I want you to make a wish in order to help you get rid of the misfortune from your childhood. In this Lost City, all sadness and pain are forgotten."

"If you alone persist in your childhood pain, it would be incredibly unfair.".

With a resounding slap on the table, Pan God drew everyone’s attention, including Ivita’s.

Ivita furrowed her brow. "Are you trying to prove to me that, in addition to your bipolar disorder, you also have a strong propensity for violence?"

Enraged, Pan God retorted at Ivita, "I’ll say it again."

"The situation is urgent now; stop escaping from it. As you and Kristin have said, what makes you powerful is not the dragon outside, but you yourself."

"If you never wish to uncover the ultimate secret of the Thousand-Year Fire or learn about the relationship between the Church and the Ancient Civilization—I’ve learned a thing or two, if you don’t care about these, if you don’t wish to search for the Law, then you should throw us out right now."

Pan God and everyone else closely watched Ivita, waiting for her decision.

Ivita remained silent for a moment before saying to Pan God,"Fine, I won’t throw you out, but let’s discuss the relationship between the Church and the Ancient Civilization."

Looks of joy appeared on everyone’s faces—it meant that Ivita was starting to remember them.

Ivita glanced at them, picked up a clock from the table, and started the timer. "Don’t worry. I am still a professional psychologist. I’m listening onward in order to better understand your conditions. Also, I charge by the hour, so even if you’re telling me a story, I still charge by the hour."

"Now, the time is yours. Feel free to use it."

Pan God, the Old Witch and others exchanged a glance—this was another sign of Ivita’s stingy character.

This suggested a gradual shift toward humanity in Ivita’s balance between human nature and divinity.

Pan God said, "Now I’m going to tell you a earth-shattering secret that not everyone knows. This secret has embroiled many a Duke in war, and it’s hugely connected to the mysterious collapse of the Ancient Civilization."

"The secret began with the emergence of the Church. Have you ever thought when the powerful Church began and what role it played in the Ancient Civilization?"

Ivita removed her white doctor’s coat, now dressed casually and listening carefully to Pan God’s words.

Pan God said, "To explain the emergence of the Church from the beginning, we must clarify the relationship between the Church and the Law."

"To understand the relationship between the Church and the Law, one must first know a famous prophecy—the Four Beasts."

Ivita asked in surprise, "The Four Beasts?"

"Yes," replied Pan God. "You should’ve purchased the last Princess of the Abbas Empire’s dying words from the slave merchant in a city-state near the Asrat Mountain Range."

"Legend has it that the God of All Things did not initially shine His glory upon mankind in the form of the Church. Before the age of the Ancient World and Ancient Civilization, during the era of the Abbas Empire, the followers of the God of All Things appeared as prophets and kings."

"The prophets and kings of the God of All Things, in order to help a dynasty in the Abbas Empire, betrayed a nation known as the Babylon—Chaldean Empire."

"You should know that only those with a portion of universal Law authority can call themselves empires, and only those possessing at least one complete universal Law can call themselves civilizations."

"The universal Law mastered by the Babylon—Chaldean Empire was likely the Universal Law: Language—of course not fully mastered, it still needed to share the Universal Law: Language with other nations. Later on, the Babylon—Chaldean Empire, seeking revenge against the prophets and the king of the God of All Things who had betrayed them, attacked that nation."

"And swept all the children of the God of All Things into the capital of the Babylon—Chaldean Empire."

"In this dire situation, a saint of the God of All Things emerged, in order to protect the God’s children, he made a deal with the Emperor of the Babylon—Chaldean Empire. He was to interpret a dream for the emperor, to use language to explain the four beasts the Emperor of the Babylon—Chaldean Empire saw in his dream."

"These four beasts that emerged from the sea later acted as the basis for the relationship between the Church and the Ancient Civilization, and even between the Church and the kings of the current nations."
