Chapter 290 - 190: The Strategy of Competing for Blood Magic and Alpha Wolf _3

Chapter 290: Chapter 190: The Strategy of Competing for Blood Magic and Alpha Wolf _3

The wizard apprentice in charge was relieved at her decision, saying, "Well, we are all students of the teacher, we cannot betray the teacher."

"Don’t forget that when we set off, we knew that we were bound to lose all our magic power on this journey, but I..."

He looked down in disbelief as the witch apprentice who just spoke to him hit him in the chest with an Explosive Curse. The witch apprentice began to smirk. "We accepted this mission for the sake of our futures, didn’t we? We took it on to gain the favor of our teacher, but now, I don’t want any kind of resource inclination, especially if Ivita is the Demon God."

"Going after the Demon God would be the best decision."

"Only by always following the victor can you survive."

"The idea to use the army to gather Blood Magic was mine, so I should be the one to get the opportunity to survive!!"

Fearing that they would be killed by others if they didn’t act quickly, the group of five began to fight amongst themselves due to the witch apprentice’s preemptive attack.

The Hearthstone Witch looked back at them and burst into laughter.

She was mentoring them for Ivita, who was about to become a full-fledged wizard. Therefore, she needed to take an apprentice in advance.

She wanted to show Ivita the difference between a proper wizard and a wizard apprentice through this apprentice.

...

In the city center of Marlinna, Ivita and the Alpha Wolf, leader of the wolf pack, stared each other down.

Ivita used Throwing Magic to knock a Wolfman off its feet and made her way towards the Alpha Wolf with brown fur.

Seeing this, the Alpha Wolf slapped his claw on the shoulder of the formal knight he was battling, sending the knight’s pauldron flying with a terrible strike.

The Wolf King of this Super Wolf Pack, the Pavel Wolf Pack, possessed a strength that towered above the formal knights.

Ivita thought the gesture was a provocation, but to her surprise, the Wolf King bit the shoulder of the knight whose pauldron was knocked off, then turned around and started to flee.

On his way, the Wolf King encountered three regular soldiers and a knight attendant.

The Wolfman let out a quick howl and swung its claws. Each swing was tens of times stronger than the strongest punch from Earth. In a blink of an eye, it had ripped apart the bodies of the three soldiers.

The knight attendant fought with the Wolf King for three rounds. However, when the knight hit the Wolf King’s arm, the Wolf King didn’t even try to dodge it and instead, caught the knight’s sword, ripping off his arm entirely in the process.

Due to the speed and force of the attack, the knight only saw a flash before him and then saw an arm flying through the air, which, to his horror, turned out to be his own.

The Wolf King knocked over the knight attendant and fled, and the entire Wolf Pack lost their battle spirit. Along with the Wolf King’s retreat, all the wolfmen who depended on the Wolf Pack were plunged into fear.

Ivita couldn’t believe that the Alpha Wolfman had chosen to flee without fighting just because she was approaching. He even wounded two and killed three in the process.

All at once, Ivita became angry. "Do you run at the sight of me?"

"Do you think you can escape so easily?"

Ivita raised her right hand, and the residual magic power of the Lightning Curse in the air immediately gathered in her hand, transforming into a Lightning Javelin that abruptly darted out from her hand. At the same time, Ivita had a sudden inspiration, chanted the incantation of a damage curse, and affixed it to the Lightning Javelin.

Instantly, the Lightning Javelin passed through the escaping Alpha Wolf’s left chest in a split second. The Alpha Wolf stumbled but then immediately continued to run.

Ivita wanted to use Fire Bird Magic to chase down the Wolf King from a distance. But after careful thought, she realized that consuming so much magical power in such an unfamiliar environment could put her in danger, so she nixed the idea.

After all, right now, neither the Old Witch, Griffin, nor Black Wolf was nearby, and she also didn’t bring any other troops, except for a Water Dragon Soldier.

So, for safety’s sake, she decided to give up on the idea.

The main reason was that there was no benefit to her.

She was being merciful by helping this city repell the Wolf King. Besides, the Wolf Pack was attacking everyone indiscriminately.

But even if she kills the Wolf King, she wouldn’t gain any material benefits.

With the withdrawal of the Wolf King, the Wolf Pack collapsed in an instant and was fiercely counterattacked by humans. However, owing to the Wolf people’s powerful immortality, they basically withstood severe injury and forcefully retreated from there.

Even the previously controlled Wolfman was awakened by Alpha Wolf’s howl before fleeing and quickly ran away.

At this time, the council president, looking at the bodies on the lawn and inside the houses, clutched his head, feeling like he was going mad.

How was he supposed to explain this to the people?

Ivita brushed the dust off her hands and began to look for Kristin and Maximilian in the chaotic scene.

Sure enough, she spotted the two in the northern corner, all the way in the central garden of the lake, along with a tense-looking Jenny.

At this point, Maximilian had already transformed back into a Black Bear Man, but his appearance had changed.

He had grown larger, looking more human. His fur was no longer entirely black, but black and white mixed. White hair had grown in stripes on his limbs.

His bear claws had lengthened, and even the color of his pupils had turned black.

"Roar~"

Maximilian, in his Black Bear Man form, let out a loud roar at Kristin. She stood there stunned, as if she had just been hit squarely in the forehead.

At that moment, the Black Bear Man picked up his sword and, with Jenny in his arms, turned around and ran away.

Ivita walked over and found Kristin had recovered her wits.

Kristin put on a grim face. "Ivita, did you see that? That guy has become the ancestor of the Black Bear Men. He even has some sort of spell-like ability on him."

"The roar of the ancestor of the Black Bear Men makes my head feel dizzy."

"He will pass on this ability to his descendants!"

Kristin said, "Dammit."

"We need to kill him quickly!"

"It’s every human being’s responsibility."

Ivita gave her a wry smile. She thought, ’What does this have to do with me?’ "Well... I think it’s not ’we’, but ’you.’"

"This is the Hunter’s business, it has nothing to do with me."

"However, I still want to thank you for warning me about the Wolfmen around me."

Kristin turned towards Ivita, crossed her arms and said, smirking, "I knew it, wizards can’t be relied upon."
