Chapter 282: Chapter 186: Creatures of the Dark Night! A Group Parasitic in Human Society! (5092)_3

The Night Clan created by witches could be considered as magical creatures dependent on humans and are not truly a threat to humanity.

All these magical creature groups must rely on humans to survive. If the human population is reduced to a certain extent, perhaps these Night Clans would turn to protect humans to prevent their extinction.

However, the human experiments conducted by Druids aim to create one after another wisdom race that is entirely different from humans and can replace them.

The human experiments of the Druids are the most terrifying.

Ivita tentatively asked Kristin, "Do you primarily hunt the Night Clan? Have you come across any Druids?"

Kristin shook her head, puzzled by Ivita’s question. "I have not encountered any Druids. In addition to hunting the Night Clan, I also hunt the Sons of Forest. They are all monsters to me."

Ivita generally understood the situation; Kristin had not come into contact with any Druids.

She had no idea what Druids were like.

After a moment of thought, Ivita recalled the anomalies he had noticed in the crowd before, and said to Kristin, "I have a way to deal with those Night Clan creatures lurking within the crowd."

"I sensed something amiss before. I suspect these Night Clan creatures have a significant connection with Baron Taketick. We are standing next to the Baron right now, so we don’t need to worry about them attacking us suddenly."

"If they did attack us, we could take Baron Taketick hostage, or at least stand beside him and threaten the Night Clan creatures, effectively detering them from acting rashly."

The glint in Kristin’s eyes seemed to light up, "Good idea."

The reason she sought out Ivita and shared this information was not just to save him. She had been seriously injured and was in desperate need to find an ally to help her combat the Night Clan creatures lurking around.

And Ivita, who had just demonstrated his powerful magic and easily defeated a full-fledged gladiator, made him the best candidate in Kristin’s view.

Although reluctant to ally with a wizard, she preferred it to being surrounded by non-human creatures.

So they reached an agreement and stood next to Baron Taketick together.

Baron Taketick looked puzzled.

Gazing at both the wizard and the hunter standing on either side of him, he wondered when he had become so popular. He had no interest in Kristin, the ominous sister.

Baron Taketick attempted to take a step forward, and the two immediately followed him, standing by his side.

Baron Taketick was clueless, "What do you two want following me around?"

Kristin and Ivita exchanged a glance and shrugged at him.

Just then, Boots Cat had returned, publicly pulling a cartload of gold coins.

The two white horses pulling the cart raised their hooves excitedly, while the guests stared at the cartload of gold coins with a mix of envy and greed.

Boots Cat displayed the gold coins to the guests, and announced loudly, "Now that my master has obtained these gold coins, is there anyone here who possesses more gold than him?"

No one responded to Boots Cat’s question, gasping and expressing their admiration instead.

Even the chairman could not believe his eyes, he walked over, bent down, and identified the gold coins and gold bricks on the cart. "Are all of these...for the Black Bear Man?"

He could barely hold back his trembling voice.

Jenny and Maximilian, however, were astounded as they looked at Boots Cat.

Maximilian hesitated for a moment, then finally asked Boots Cat, "Did you steal these gold coins?"

"If you did, then they don’t belong to me."

Boots Cat clapped his hands publicly and treaded the ground with his boots. "What a righteous man, much like a knight to put down his greed amidst the temptation of a cartload of gold coins. Is there anyone else here who can give up greed faster than him?"

Ivita nodded in approval, Maximilian had proven to be a decent person.

Many of the guests agreed as well. Though the Black Bear Man appeared peculiar, and his appearance deviated greatly from humans, he did possess a great character after all.

Boots Cat reassured Maximilian, "Don’t worry, the source of these riches is all legal."

He walked over to Ivita, the cat face leaned closely to Ivita’s face, their faces almost a few centimeters apart. "Thank you, Mr. Ivita. Because of your favor, my master got hold of this wealth."

"The time of our agreement to lend identities to each other has been reached."

"You have the right to know what I did with your identity."

As Ivita listened to Boots Cat narrating his grand deeds, Boots Cat said, "I used your identity to take most of the gold from the treasury of Alsace, usurped two earldoms’ castles and some orchards. One castle for my master, and one for you."

"As I took these properties in your name, they are all legally acquired."

Ivita blinked his eyes.

Properties like those castles had already been seized by others, he had the right to claim them only in name.

Who in the world would have thought that Boots Cat would take his identity and seized two earldoms’ castles back?

This was absurd.

But he did profit from it.

Becuase these properties had already been seized by others.

He would not be so foolish to think that Boots Cat truly took his properties.

But Ivita was nevertheless astounded by Boots Cat’s abilities. He even contemplated becoming Boots Cat’s master.

Unfortunately, it seemed that Boots Cat could only choose individuals who have a weak will but need to grow as his master.

And he certainly did not have a weak will.

Ivita regretted thinking that being too determined could make him lose an opportunity.

But thinking about it, Boots Cat couldn’t assist his master without any constraints. He must comply with the rules of the elves. Unless necessary, he probably wouldn’t help his master to obtain wealth in this way.

All of a sudden, the chairman yelled out in anger, "No! I am already a wealthy man! I don’t need this money."

"My daughter Jenny will not become a slave to money. She is a true princess."

"I hope the man who marries her possesses a castle worthy of a princess."

As if he had foreseen the chairman’s continued objections, Boots Cat crossed his arms and said, "Meow~ My master has a castle, right next to your city. Meow~ Everyone, let’s go and look together."
