Chapter 267: Chapter 180: The Red Robe Hunter【Kristin】and the Ashen Man of the Cemetery (5062)_3

"I heard it from others, it’s said..." The soldier whispered: "Some say that Kristin is the most talented hunter in the territory of Ambros. No one embodied the way of the hunter as she does."

"She is cold-blooded, ruthless, and proud, harboring an intense loathing for all creatures that aren’t human. She once declared that after she’s finished hunting all non-human creatures within the territories of Ambros, she will break the hunter’s limit and become the first to reach the fourth level."

Ivita blinked for a moment before understanding. The profession of hunters came into existence when an ordinary person made a wish to the Black Rose Fairy to save his daughter who was stolen by a witch."

So, the profession of a hunter does have a limit.

Nobody in the hunter profession has ever broken through to the fourth level.

After realizing this, Ivita thanked the guard of Hook, Huoke, before preparing herself to enter the city.

Huoke, grinning, greeted Ivita: "Welcome to our city."

"I really don’t understand why the president of the Weaving Workers’ Guild insisted on hiring Kristin, someone like her, to protect our city. She has been extremely rude, never respecting us guards."

"But you are approachable, even as a noble, you do not scorn us."

Ivita just smiled at him.

In her eyes, everyone was equal.

If someone assumes that they can domineer over others and seize their rights casually, it would be sheer arrogance.

Only if a person doesn’t show off to the weak, will they not flatter the strong. Humility is the key.

Only in this way can a person maintain their autonomy and self-respect.

Otherwise, if one is harsh to the weak, it’s almost certain that they will try to please the strong.

Upon entering the city, Ivita first quickly searched for a place to stay. She found the most affordable inn, and agreed to stay for a night at the price of a penny.

Then, Ivita instructed the coachman to take her carriage to the stable.

Meanwhile, she gazed up at the sky, wondering...how she was to contact the Ice Witch?

"Forget it, I might as well go to the dance party of the Weaving Workers’ Guild today." Ivita wandered about the streets, but failed to find any signs of the Ice Witch. Therefore, she had to make such a plan.

She probably arrived in this city several days before the cemetery’s people did.

They might have been looking for Boots Cat all along, and maybe they already have some leads. Thus, she needed to take action, too.

If she can’t wait for the Ice Witch, she might as well take action on her own.

Perhaps, Boots Cat would attend this dance party which invited many distinguished individuals.

She had to take her chances. If Boots Cat wasn’t there, she would think of another plan.

...

Within the witch cemetery in Kappa Town, Hugo gloomily listened to Francesca and another senior wizard’s report.

Chief Hugo was furious upon hearing that twelve wizard apprentices had already died.

This agitated Hugo Russo, who was already distraught over the previous divination. At this moment, he lost control over his emotions and even regretted not having sought the Iron Thorn Fairy personally, to become immortal.

"That Fishman Monster dares to hunt us outside of our base!"

"It’s time to summon the Ashen Man."

Upon hearing this, Francesca raised doubts: "Ash magic is the foundation of the graveyard."

"The Ashen Man needs to extract the ash magic from beneath the cemetery. Our ancestors will not agree to this."

Chief Hugo roared furiously. "This is currently the fastest way to get rid of the nuisance outside. Moreover, our ancestors will agree. Those who you respect as ancestors, are nothing more than mere puppets under my control."

"Even if they are ancestors, they are just my puppets."

Francesca and another senior wizard both stared, shocked at Hugo Russo. It looked as if they were saying, ’how could you dare to talk about our ancestors like that.’

"Everyone, I am sorry. I got a bit impatient," said Hugo, realizing his mistake. No matter how true something was, there was no need to say it out loud.

Sometimes, it’s better to do than say.

If you act it out, there won’t be any issue.

If you say it out loud, then there will be major ramifications.

Francesca hesitated a bit before speaking: "What if ...and I’m just hypothesizing here, what if the Ashen Man can’t eradicate the Fishman from the outside world? You will end up damaging the foundation of the cemetery in vain."

"Perhaps you could seek advice from Milani."

Hugo sneered. "The Ashen Man is the unique summoning of the cemetery. How could it not defeat the extremely disorganized creature outside the cemetery."

As he spoke, he walked to the far corner of his laboratory room and rapped the wall three times with the back of his hand.

Suddenly, the wall cracked open, revealing a door.

Hugo walked straight into the door and down the stairs inside, for around five hundred meters.

The staircase was heading down all along.

Meaning, he was now at a depth of approximately four to five hundred meters underground.

Hugo arrived at a pitch-black place where a few sporadic red points provided the only lighting.

Hugo glanced behind and saw the two elders had followed him. Facing the worried elder, he said, "This time I plan to revive Klauk, the millinery apprentice."

"He will take control of the Ashen Man’s consciousness."

"This can also be considered as reviving our students."

The facial expressions of Francesca and the others softened a little upon hearing this.

If they could defeat the Fishman outside and revive their students, maybe it wouldn’t be too bad, even with a bit of damage to the foundation of the graveyard.

Yet, Francesca was still anxious as among all the three present, she had the best understanding of how terrifying the Fishman lurking outside of Kappa town was.

Perhaps, from the very beginning, using this crude solution was a mistake.

Hugo clenched his hands into claws, then abruptly squatted down, his hands pressed against the heap of black char on the ground.

Suddenly, a powerful magic energy transformed into some kind of storm, sweeping throughout the room situated five hundred meters beneath the ground.
