Chapter 208: Chapter 147: The Disturbed Water Palace Magic and the Water Dragon’s Tooth_1

Never mind about when Lady Robin, in the castle dungeon, will reveal the location of the Elemental Flower.

Ivita has already begun the incessant process of learning water magic, with the color of his washbasin starting to change.

The once-brand-new wooden basin, now has its grain morphed, and it looks very aged.

After Ivita’s relentless training, and the consumption of all the livestock blood, this washbasin became a water-devouring beast that can hold any amount of water, no matter how much is poured into it.

But this thing, even though it swallows a tremendous amount of water, can only spit out a little bit.

Ivita once tried to pour out all the water inside, only to find that he could just only pour out the amount equivalent to the volume of the basin.

Moreover, each day, he must fill the basin with fresh water, otherwise, all the water added previously would evaporate by the next day.

As Ivita fills this washbasin every day, it grows increasingly heavy.

Today, the old witch looked down at the washbasin. The water inside seemed clear, but she knew the water was not simple.

She saw the surging water magic power in the water.

Like a raging river.

And Ivita has been practicing this water magic for just over a week.

Ivita was still pondering.

The power Zeus gave him is to add the name of the Greek god to the original curse, thereby transforming the ability of the lightning spell;

Shiva gave him the power to strengthen destroy magic;

Ra gave him the ability to fuse fire magic;

Odin gave him the ability to quickly learn and thoroughly comprehend the magic of war characteristics in the midst of war.

So, what power could the Feathered Serpent God bring him?

It seems like nothing has happened yet.

However, the old witch noticed the peculiarity in Ivita’s learning of this magic.

The Hearthstone Witch thought to herself: ’When the Demon God learns this water magic, it seems that he completely ignores the risks of magic and doesn’t take any detours.’

The old witch said to Ivita, "Your Majesty, your Water Palace magic is beginning to take effect."

"From now on, you should pour water into your washbasin every day, and recite the spell one hundred times a day to reinforce and transform it with your magic power."

"This process may take some time."

"But over time, it will become more and more extraordinary."

"Ultimately, that will be the day your magic is completed."

"However, to integrate the Water Dragon’s Tooth, there is one more step." The old witch took out the Water Dragon’s tooth from her portable carriage. "You need to put this Water Dragon’s Tooth into your Water Palace magic. Then, you will be able to digest the Magic Source."

Ivita immediately used the Hand of Mana to lift the Water Dragon’s Tooth and tried to put it into the washbasin. However, the water in the basin began to surge.

Just like the golden cudgel stirring the waters of the Dragon Palace, it kept shaking the wooden washbasin.

The Hearthstone Witch reminded Ivita, "Your Majesty, this is the Water Dragon’s Tooth rejecting your water magic power."

"To perfectly integrate it into your water magic power requires a lot of time and energy, as well as enough talent."

"Witches with average talent would hurt themselves during this process, leading them to lose the hope of advancement forever."

"You..."

The old witch hesitated for a moment. "An information that you might not need to know."

"That is, during this process, there is a risk of physical distortion and dragonization, which is the Water Dragon’s Tooth’s counterattack on you. But perhaps... this situation will not happen to you at all. Do you feel any anomaly now, like a feeling of heaviness in your chest, as if you are being squeezed?"

Ivita looked at the old witch oddly. "No."

The old witch felt absurd and envious. "Then, let’s just assume I didn’t say anything."

In the afternoon, Ivita left the mirror space. He allowed Amelia Mirror Spirit to monitor the castle while he himself walked to the castle lawn and summoned five knight attendants and twenty foot soldiers with the help of the Griffin Knight.

Ivita was sending them to Kappa Town, to explore the temple altar of the law that Pan God and Amelia Mirror Spirit had mentioned.

Five knight attendants and one full-fledged knight kneeled on one knee, solemnly swearing that they would follow their lord’s instructions and report back to Ivita.

The squad sending the Griffins soon left the castle.

Ivita, accompanied by the Old Witch, went for a stroll in the nearby villages within his territory.

The newly repaired villages were still filled with homeless people although this was not caused by Ivita.

But Ivita felt restless as he looked around.

The Old Witch, on the other hand, was indifferent and even commanded the villagers to keep their distance and avoid dirtying her clothes.

In the nearest village to the territory, male and female villagers were crammed into makeshift wooden houses, with practically no furniture inside. All they had was a stone pot for cooking some porridge-like substance.

A ragged little girl sat on the ground, licking the porridge from her fingers.

Their houses had piles of hay on the ground, which bore signs of being slept on. It appeared this was where the people of Ivita’s territory slept.

Ivita, seen on horseback, felt a heavy weight in his heart.

He didn’t expect that the people who were also part of his territory were all living their lives so differently.

Ivita asserted, "We need to help these people prosper and lead affluent lives."

"Their prosperity means my prosperity."

The Old Witch looked stunned, "What does their prosperity have to do with your wealth?"

Ivita shook his head, asserting, "I cannot collect taxes from a group of poor people. But if these people start prospering, that would be a different story."

It was uncommon for the Old Witch to hear of someone who, instead of always seeking to exploit their people, wanted to support their prosperity.

The Old Witch hesitantly asked, "Are you planning to give them money?"

Ivita found this amusing.

The Old Witch didn’t understand the usual ways of making money. From her perspective, giving money was the only way to make the villagers wealthier.

But giving out money is something only the most foolish rulers would do.

If people receive something they have not earned, they are likely to waste it rather than cherish it.

Do not test human nature.

Master it instead!

Just as they were about to leave the village on horseback.

A homeless man suddenly ran out and blocked the path, standing right under Ivita’s horse. The horse startled, raising its hoof, and was it not for Ivita quickly reining it in, the man would have been kicked dead on the spot.

Ivita, looking down upon the dirty-faced middle-aged homeless man, felt annoyed.

The homeless man was startled too, but he quickly composed himself and pleaded with Ivita, "My lord, please give me some money. Your horse just injured me, my leg hurts very much now."

Confused, Ivita examined his legs, they seemed dirty but uninjured.

Probably feeling that his act wasn’t convincing enough, the beggar picked up a rock and smashed it hard on his own leg, causing it to bleed profusely.

Then, he clung onto the horse’s leg and cried, "My lord, please compensate me with some money."

"Winter is coming."

"Please, give me some money."

"I have a three-year-old daughter at home, her mother was killed by a half-human-half-snake creature."

Ivita was astonished.

He felt it ridiculous. He was just touring his territory and examining the living conditions of his people.

And unexpectedly, he ran into a scammer.

He never thought that in this world, there were people with the audacity to scam like this.
