The witch thought I am a Demon God
Chapter 189 - 136: The Powerful Spirit Mirror Divination_1

Chapter 189: Chapter 136: The Powerful Spirit Mirror Divination_1

On the eleventh day after Tartax’s departure, Ivita embedded the fourth residual soul into the mirror.

But it seemed as if the magic was initially difficult, but it soon started to become easier.

By the afternoon, Ivita suddenly embedded the last residual soul into the mirror as well.

At that moment, the mirror once again reflected the full view of the castle.

Ivita saw the civilians repairing the castle walls with bricks, farmers clearing lime in the fields, and twenty guards patrolling the castle walls.

He also saw the old witch aimlessly sauntering about the castle while simultaneously sketching a map of its interior, her purpose unknown.

He established a vague connection with the residual souls in the mirror.

Ivita saw that the residual souls in the mirror had barely formed a human figure before they collapsed again.

Then the scattered souls began to transform into a lion, a tiger, a dragon, a falcon, and other animals.

Ivita quickly dispatched a servant in the corridor to find the old witch who was wandering in the castle and disclosed her location to the servant.

Soon, the old witch arrived at the study, her skirt clutched in her hands.

Ivita asked discontentedly, "What are you doing recording the layout of the castle?"

The old witch instantly realized how much Ivita had learned about Spirit Mirror Divination. She herself had wanted to delve deeper into this divination method, but lacked the funds during her apprenticeship.

Of all the various methods of divination she had encountered, Spirit Mirror Divination was undeniably the most expensive.

However, its benefit lay in its wide applicability.

The old witch asked Ivita, "Your Highness, have you encountered the three transformations of the mirror spirit?"

Ivita was puzzled, "Three transformations?"

The old witch nodded, quickly scanned the Candy Mirror, and assessed the situation. "In the second stage of Spirit Mirror Divination, you need to sculpt the mirror spirit and endow it with power by imbuing it with three characteristics of your soul."

"However, additional materials are needed: some flour and ten pebbles. Given that your domain is located in the mountains, these stones should be readily available."

Ivita called for the servants to fetch the materials.

Then, he tapped the table with his index finger, "What do you mean by the three characteristics of my soul?"

The Hearthstone Witch replied, "These refer to certain traits of your soul that continually influence you and form your character."

"Your character traits will influence the shape of the mirror spirit."

"Traits like arrogance, hypocrisy, innocence, resilience, kindness, etc.; they will be magnified in the mirror, causing the mirror spirit to undergo a transformation."

The Hearthstone Witch imparted her knowledge to Ivita continuously until dusk fell.

Ivita realized that these profound knowledge would undoubtedly cost the old witch’s apprentices a considerable amount of money, even posing great difficulties for them to attain.

Yet, due to the old witch’s mistaken belief that he was the Demon God, he could easily access this knowledge.

It seems that the path of apprenticeship for wizards and witch’s apprentices is undeniably challenging.

Perhaps, they would need to spend a decade just to gain a piece of information with a certain degree of certainty, and another decade to verify its authenticity.

In the study, the old witch cleared her throat and abruptly said, "Your Highness, the Demon Hunter in the mirror who has passed the five trials must be dealt with."

"His existence may likely affect the second phase of your divination method."

"He must... leave the mirror."

"Moreover, he has been inside the mirror for at least twenty years, so..." the old witch licked her lips, "his soul is a nourishing spiritual potion for the mirror, Your Highness, we cannot let him get away."

Ivita remained silent.

After a moment of reflection, he said, "Let’s observe the Demon Hunter first. I will then decide what fate he should be dealt."

"We can perhaps offer shelter to this level-three Demon Hunter and recruit him into our army."

"If he insists on leaving, I will allow him to do so after he compensates us for rescuing him."

"But if he refuses to negotiate, or if he is a person of great evil, we can decide the fate of his soul later."

The old witch appeared unimpressed, even considering these words as mere pretence from the Demon God.

Ivita said, "Let me call Black Wolf over. Demon Hunters should be best equipped to handle other Demon Hunters."

As Ivita thought this, ripples spread across the surface of the Candy Mirror, displaying Black Wolf’s location.

Black Wolf and Rayli were on the first floor of the castle, receiving the returning Tartax.

Several arrogantly behaving young men followed Tartax.

Ivita was somewhat taken aback. "What a coincidence, I was just about to deal with the threat in the mirror, but Tartax brought the bankers over."

At this point, the Candy Spirit Mirror could not only display images, but also convey sound.

Ivita heard the conversation between Black Wolf and Tartax.

Tartax asked Black Wolf for a glass of water and drank it all at once, then he told Black Wolf, "These are employees from Belisarius’s major banking house, Pizza Bank. They need to tour the dominion and assess its potential."

Black Wolf turned to Rayli and said, "Rayli, can you show these guests around?"

Rayli readily agreed, reaching out to assist the bankers with their belongings, but was refused.

The employees eyed Rayli’s dark hands with some resistance.

A middle-aged man with a beard even said, "Lord Tartax, is this the noble guest’s dominion you spoke of? This castle...is too cramped."

"It doesn’t even have a moat."

Tartax laughed and replied, "There are no moats in the mountains, let alone for a castle built on a hillside."

"All right then." The middle-aged man with a beard sighed. "If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t bother coming to such a backwoods place. It’s hot, and there are too many bugs."

He pulled a handkerchief out of his chest and wiped his face.

As a Demon Hunter, Black Wolf somewhat disapproved of these pampered individuals but kept his thoughts to himself.

In the study, Ivita was about to call for a servant to summon Black Wolf and attended to the guests. However, the old witch said to Ivita, "Heh heh, there’s no need, sir."

"This mirror allows for two-way communication, their voices can come through the mirror to us, and we can use magic to transmit our voices over there."

"I’ve been wanting to use it like this previously."

"One of my former teachers excelled in this type of magic."

Seizing the opportunity, the old witch raised her right index finger, bit it, and drew a triangular pattern on the Candy Mirror.

The blood triangle glowed with a dangerous purple light and was swallowed by the mirror.

The surface of the mirror became smooth and clear once again.

"Sir, you may speak now," said the old witch.

Ivita turned to the mirror and said, "Black Wolf, you can come to my study now. I need you to kill a third-level Demon Hunter for me."

"And, Rayli, do your best to accommodate the guests. You can fulfill any reasonable requests they have."

"Distinguished guests from Belisarius, please forgive me for my inability to immediately entertain you due to some urgent matters."

"If you wish to inspect my territory, feel free."

"However, since this place is the compulsory route to enter Ambros from the west, and there have been many explorers entering my territory recently, please be mindful of your safety."

"Also, Tartax, thank you for your help this time."

After Ivita finished speaking, she saw the stunned Black Wolf and Rayli, and she saw the bankers’ employees in a state of panic.

...

In the grand hall of the first floor of the castle, the bank employees were horrified to hear voices falling from above, but there was only the ceiling of the hall above them.

The lord is indeed a wizard!

Everything they had said before must have reached the ears of the wizard lord.

For a moment, they were somewhat panicked.

It’s one thing to think certain things, but it’s another to say them out loud. That’s provocation.

For a moment, several bankers’ employees broke into a cold sweat, fearing punishment from the wizard lord.

Even though wizards have a slightly better reputation than witches, there were still many instances where furious wizards would disregard logic and reality and attack those who enraged them.

Just then, the bearded middle-aged man who had been making arrogant remarks was suddenly overtaken by fear. His heart started pounding and he lost some of his arrogant demeanor.

After all, this wizard seemed mysterious and had a monitoring spell.

He looked at Tartax in confusion and asked, "You only told me he was a baron. You never told me that he was also a wizard!"

"Why didn’t you say so, Mr. Tartax?"

Tartax responded matter-of-factly, "His status as a wizard doesn’t alter the outcome. Why should I mention it?"

"Is it something that needs to be emphasized? It could even bring negative consequences."

The employees of Pizza Bank all fell silent.

They almost forgot about Scholar City’s attitude towards magic; they have totally lost their minds on such a topic.

There was even a rumor that two groups of scholars in Scholar City had devised ways to eliminate both magic and faith and were already trying to implement them.

However, one needs to be pragmatic in life.

Upon entering a wizard’s territory, you must abide by the rules of the territory.

If you provoke a knight, you can still appeal to his chivalry to forgive others.

But if you provoke a wizard, it’ll be troublesome.

The employees of Pizza Bank all looked rather ill.

At this point, they certainly didn’t dare ask for a sightseeing tour around the territory.

First, it would be impolite.

Second, they had heard Ivita’s warning about the numerous explorers outside.

...

Soon, Demon Hunter Black Wolf arrived in the study via the staircase.

Black Wolf said, "Your Highness Ivita, I’ve heard that there’s a Demon Hunter in your mirror. Let me communicate with him. We may be able to resolve this matter without battle."

Ivita nodded, sat down in the chair, snapped her fingers, and the surface of the Candy Mirror rippled like water.

The ripples layered upon each other, forming a vortex of water.

"This is a one-way door into the World in the Mirror."

"You can go in now."

"I can let you out at any time."

"If he attacks you, I will immediately open the door to let you out. But remember, do not let him follow you out."

"Because if I open the one-way door for you, it means that anyone inside the mirror can come out through this door."
