The witch thought I am a Demon God
Chapter 1041 - 531_2

Chapter 1041: Chapter 531_2

Magic was fragmented and powerless in the face of the Laws.

Even amidst a vast amount of summoned creatures, Emperor Aoyue III’s army sliced through the battlefield like a sharp blade.

Emperor Aoyue III rampaged through the enemy lines, shining like the sun that unleashes boundless energy, silencing the soldiers of the Frankish people.

For, in this duel, it seemed that the Emperor consistently had the upper hand.

The Witch Group of Frank, in the face of universal laws, was so helpless.

But just as Emperor Aoyue III was chasing the fleeing Louis XI amidst the Witch Group’s curse magic and the army of summoned creatures,

there was a sudden mistake from Emperor Aoyue III.

For some unknown reason, his body stiffened up, causing his movements to break, and the red-haired horse-faced demon took the opportunity to snatch his knight’s spear from his hands.

Disarmed, Emperor Aoyue III subconsciously used his life-and-death magical power to kill the red-haired horse-faced demon in front of him, but by then, more summoned creatures and curse magic overwhelmed his army.

Louis XI, who had been fleeing everywhere, saw his chance and brightened up; he had been waiting for this moment.

Earlier, seeing the Emperor so brave, he had thought his plan to poison him had failed.

It turned out he was merely sustaining himself on sheer willpower.

"Ha ha ha, no wonder you wanted a quick resolution." Louis XI no longer fled; he emerged from behind the Witch Group with his magic wand, strengthened by Frankish laws, and cast a weakening curse on Emperor Aoyue III. "So you were poisoned after all."

"As long as I keep my distance from you, I’ve won."

"Haven’t you understood? The outcome of this battle isn’t decided by our troops’ victory, but by ours. The reason I let my troops engage yours with summoned creatures and curses is because I don’t care whether they live or die."

"The death of these soldiers and witches doesn’t matter because as long as you fall, I win. You just desired perfection too much—it’s your weakness." Louis XI said triumphantly.

Emperor Aoyue III and Duke Gugel only then realized too late that although the Witch Group had suffered heavy casualties, Louis XI had always treated them as cannon fodder from the very start.

By contrast, the Emperor had always tried to protect his elite Knight Regiment, thus restricting his actions.

From the beginning, their different personalities had burdened their fight differently.

Emperor Aoyue III was struck by Louis XI’s weakening curse, which, strengthened by the Frankish laws, had taken effect on him.

Then, Louis XI furiously cursed the Emperor.

Emperor Aoyue III’s only strategy was to constantly try and close the distance between himself and Louis XI.

Normally, at full strength, the Emperor would have easily caught up to Louis XI; however, because of the poison, the magic within his body kept draining his energy, leaving his knight’s strength depleted.

And Emperor Aoyue III had not yet mastered the magic that was consuming most of his strength.

This had put Emperor Aoyue in a severe disadvantage.

Using his off-hand weapon, the knight’s sword, Emperor Aoyue III cleaved through a Hellfire Demon, then turned to Duke Gugel beside him, "My brother, I may die here today."

Duke Gugel was shocked; he said, "Then let’s break through and return to our troops. We can’t count this duel!"

"Your Majesty, let’s leave here quickly."

Emperor Aoyue III shook his head, a bitter smile on his face. "I want to burn all my power here, for one last attempt."

"How would I appear before the world if I, watched by all, flee back to my troops in violation of my agreement with another?!"

"I cannot do that."

"I refuse to become a joke."

Emperor Aoyue III was very serious. "Once I die, lead the brothers behind me in a breakout and ensure the safety of the troops."

Duke Gugel, sensing the farewell in his words, said urgently, "No. Let’s order our troops to attack all at once."

Emperor Aoyue III snorted coldly. "How could I engage in such faithless and untrustworthy acts? I absolutely will not."

An evil qi kept gathering around him as the domain of the Knight expanded suddenly, and the Universal Law: Holy also seemed to respond to the Emperor’s will, becoming exceedingly active as it began to taint the people under the Frankish Law.

Emperor Aoyue III commanded his warhorse, suddenly charging out, breaking away from his Knight Regiment, killing his way alone into the army of the Frankish people.

His speed suddenly increased, and no Frankish person could stop him.

Louis XI seized the opportunity to unleash a spell, which collided with the Emperor’s knightly sword. The magic was cleaved away with a single swing, and the Emperor, with the remaining force, charged towards Louis XI.

Louis XI clenched his teeth. "Damn it, the Universal Law is still the Universal Law, making a knight so powerful."

"It seems, the national law of the Franks is indeed inferior to the Universal Law: Holy. I must create an even more powerful universal level of national law, but the road ahead is still very long."

Knowing he could not confront the Emperor head-on at the moment, he quickly used magic to retreat, even attempting to use spatial magic for instantaneous movement to widen the gap between himself and the Emperor.

But Emperor Aoyue III had no intention of letting him widen that distance, constantly using his domain of evil qi to lock onto Louis XI. Emperor Aoyue III’s knightly sword grazed Louis XI’s face and chest multiple times.

"No..." Louis XI screamed. "After all my careful planning, how could you still go this far!"

He grabbed a witch nearby, using her as a shield in front of him.

Then, he used spatial magic to hide behind the witches.

Emperor Aoyue III swiftly slew three witches and, upon realizing that his warhorse had reached its limit, immediately dismounted and continued to slash toward Louis XI.

Louis XI managed to defend hastily, barely surviving under the Emperor’s sword.

The raging Universal Law: Holy suppressed Louis XI’s magic.

Emperor Aoyue III seemed determined, wanting to use the last of his life’s force to take Louis XI with him. "At least... At least I must kill you..."

"You, who threaten the Empire..."

"At least you must die..."

"As long as you live, you will pose a threat to the Empire, with your twisted logic and heresies, just die!"

Emperor Aoyue III’s knightly sword was about to slice into Louis XI’s throat when suddenly, a clear sound of his left leg bone cracking was heard, he paused, his body stopping in place.

A look of surprise and relief from a narrow escape appeared on Louis XI’s face.

It turned out the Emperor had already reached his limit.

It turned out the Emperor was not as fearsome as he seemed.

It turned out that this time, he truly won.

In the next moment, Louis XI fiercely smashed his magic wand against the Emperor’s forehead. The soldiers, who were closely watching the duel, uttered cries of concern and fear.

Emperor Aoyue III was dazed. "I..."

Louis XI burst out laughing. "I have won, I have won. Emperor, I don’t necessarily have to kill you. Your Empire has long been nothing more than a façade. As long as you agree to dissolve the Holy Empire, I will spare your life."

"Emperor!"

Louis XI looked at the Emperor, kneeling on one knee, and he smiled, the smile of a victor.

But from the beginning, he was not foolish enough to kill the Emperor.

The impact would be too detrimental; moreover, the price to kill the Emperor, even Louis XI could not afford.

He only needed to defeat the Emperor, stand on the Emperor’s shoulders, and obtain the world.

But in that instant, a line of blood suddenly appeared on the Emperor’s neck...
