Chapter 1019 - 521: Six-headed Red Dragon!

Chapter 1019: Chapter 521: Six-headed Red Dragon!

"Such a silver-tongued wizard." The Black Dragon opened its mouth, spewing out a violent acid wind, causing any object it touched, even the soil, to corrode intensely.

When the acid wind came into contact with the air, it turned into the most poisonous toxin, instantly fatal to any mortal it touched.

Ivita snapped her fingers, and flames erupted from the Genuine Sun Universe, incinerating all the toxic gas in the air.

During the confrontation, Ivita detected that the Black Dragon seemed to be connected to a massive universe, capable of drawing power from it at any moment.

Ivita used the Fire Dragon Law to contact the Knowledge Demon King sheltered in a subterranean palace within the Royal Capital, requesting to use its body to connect to the River of Knowledge, to investigate the origins of this Black Dragon and why it had chosen to aid the Kingdom of Franck against her.

The Knowledge Demon King agreed without much hesitation, for he was now considered part of the legacy Shaw had left to Ivita.

He was compelled to serve Ivita.

Through the River of Knowledge, Ivita quickly traced the Black Dragon’s past; it turned out to have a history as long as the founding of the Frankish Kingdom itself. According to legend, at the beginning of Pepin’s reign, the kingdom faced a natural disaster where all its rivers reeked of acid.

With the help of a witch, Pepin discovered that it was the deed of a Black Dragon named [Alaric], which demanded that King Pepin present all the treasures from the royal vault.

King Pepin, seeking to avert the disaster (as he and his two brothers had previously been weakened by an attack of the Northern Undead pirates), agreed. But after presenting the treasures to the Black Dragon, Alaric greedily demanded that Pepin pay a tenth of the kingdom’s annual tax revenue.

Facing this extortion, Pepin agreed a second time, but the insatiably greedy Black Dragon Alaric soon went back on his word.

Dragons are always so, endlessly greedy.

Black Dragon Alaric once again threatened to contaminate the entire water supply of the Frankish Kingdom and demanded that Pepin give him the great crown, a symbol of kingship, to satisfy the reptile’s vanity.

After careful consideration, for the safety of all Frankish people, Pepin agreed. However, this time he contacted the strongest witch in his territories, the most powerful priest in the church, and his mightiest knight. The four conspired that should Black Dragon Alaric continue his relentless demands, they would hunt down the foolish dragon.

As expected, Alaric, having tasted success, reneged on his word in less than three months and demanded to marry Pepin’s eldest daughter to maintain the peace treaty.

The result was that the royal task force set out to conquer the malevolent dragon, defeated Black Dragon Alaric, and banished him to the eternal darkness of the Land of Death.

Now Ivita realized that at the time, the Pepin God must have sentenced the Black Dragon to death, but because the true witch of death explored death, she made contact with the dragon.

After banishing Black Dragon Alaric to death, Pepin God said to him, "You demanded three things from our kingdom, and now to atone and leave this Land of Death, you must do three things for my kingdom. Remember, this is what you owe us, this is your retribution."

Ivita understood then; it explained why the Black Dragon chose to help the Frank Empire against her. After escaping from death using the magic of the true witch of death, the dragon had no choice but to abide by Pepin’s rules to serve the Frankish Kingdom.

While exploring the River of Knowledge and simultaneously battling with the Black Dragon, Ivita found the dragon’s magic to be singular but its Dragon Breath terrifying and magical immunity formidable. Therefore, after more than a dozen exchanges, neither could overpower the other.

At this point, the Black Dragon seemed to sense that Ivita was pulling up its history from the River of Knowledge.

He’d never blocked access to his own past.

The Black Dragon spoke to the true witch of death, "Bring your Legion of Death along, and you join as well. That wizard is investigating our history."

"On a personal level, this human is stronger than any of the four who sealed me away. Damn the Frank Empire, as soon as I am done with this last task, I will be completely free and never want to be involved with this mad kingdom again."

The true witch of death looked toward Ivita with a resentful and covetous gaze. "Then we’ll attack together. For the future of the Empire, let’s bring this to an end, Ivita."

"There’s no need for courtesy. Surround and kill him."

Dozens of giant creatures attacked at once, and even Ivita was put at a disadvantage, barely managing to fend off the onslaught.

Black Dragon Alaric took the opportunity to fly overhead, breathing a Dragon Breath towards Ivita, who failed to dodge in time; her left hand was corroded, flesh eaten away in an instant.

At that moment, the true witch of death appeared behind Ivita, her face twisted with greed and malice. From the palm of her left hand, a black orb-shaped eye shot a ray of death at Ivita’s back.

This was her most powerful researched spell, the death magic [Eye of Death]!

Any person caught by this eye was doomed to die.

Meanwhile, Black Dragon Alaric took advantage of the chaos to charge at Ivita with its horns, while dozens of beasts from the Legion of Death launched a full assault, determined to kill her.

Facing such dire straits.
