Chapter 734: Volume Twenty-One: The Dark Road Chapter Fourteen: Turning the Tables _3

"Hehe, there will be a chance. The things that Mr. Komer keeps hidden in his heart, not one of the people around him can fully grasp. Just think about it, even the Court of Church of Light mobilized in full but failed to get their hands on him. You can imagine how capable Mr. Komer truly is."

Hayreddin had also only vaguely learned about the real circumstances of Komer’s departure from Caucasus after arriving in Athens City. Although he lived in the Southern Mediterranean, Hayreddin was aware of the formidable reputation of the Court of Church of Light in the Northern Continent. Once blacklisted by the Court, it was almost as if a death sentence has been pronounced on a condemned prisoner waiting to die. Yet, this noble lord had managed to come to the Southern Mediterranean alone unscathed, and in such a short period of time, he had built a new world for himself. The mages and knights who gathered around him were increasing day by day, and even Hayreddin was unsure of the exact nature of their relationship with the noble lord.

"Boss, are you saying that Mr. Komer is a mage?" Drake, surprised and with an incredulous look on his face, found it hard to believe that a noble lord could be a mage; it seemed somewhat unimaginable.

"Hmph, just a mage? I’ve heard from a few mages around him that Mr. Komer is likely to have already entered the realm of the archmage, it’s just that he does not wish to show it." Hayreddin changed the subject, "Drake, you’re right. Mr. Komer is very ambitious. The merchant fleet is merely a preliminary rehearsal and a smokescreen. He once told me that he needs an invincible fleet that can dominate the Nether Sea, the Mediterranean, and even the Storm Ocean to control the seas surrounding his territory. No matter the cost, he will strive for it, and we are the sharp swords for achieving his goals. I am more than willing to become this sword in his hand. It’s my lifelong dream to traverse the Mediterranean, and if he can help me fulfill this dream, I’m willing to give everything for him!"

Swallowing hard, Drake watched Hayreddin, who looked out over the undulating sea with a determined expression, suppressing the excitement in his heart. His clenched fists seemed as though they would squeeze out water as he spoke word by word, "Boss, have you forgotten about us, your brothers? Have you forgotten the oath of shared hardships we took in the beginning?"

"Of course I haven’t forgotten; otherwise, why would I come back?" Hayreddin said solemnly: "But this is a long journey. We may have to give up everything, even our lives. We will face not just the Demisheme Pirate Group and the Grayskull, but also the insurmountable Carter Fleet, as well as the naval fleets of various city-states. All of these will be obstacles that we cannot simply bypass. If we want to help Mr. Komer achieve his goal and realize our own lifelong dreams, then we must be ready to shed blood and even pay the price with our lives. Drake, are you willing?"

The shrill howl echoed along the seashore as Drake, with a fierce tear, ripped open the worn-out front of his shirt, revealing his hairy chest. Looking at Hayreddin, his gaze was equally fervent and resolute, "Boss, as men who have grown up by the Mediterranean, who could refuse such desire and temptation? In this lifetime, Drake has no other dream but to fight alongside the boss for our old aspirations, to traverse the seas and sail the oceans. Brothers, can we refuse?"

"No, we can’t!" A few men, agitated by alcohol, couldn’t help but let out wild roars, startling flocks of seagulls along the coast.
